This place came highly recommended too me and I needed a new vet..the receptionist Angie was the absolute best..however I was appalled at the way I was treated by the doctor and one of the other receptionist there.I was already a total bundle of nerves but the doctor was rude and very unpleasant at times and his receptionist actually called me a liar and after she found out I was telling her the truth she just stared at me until I demanded her apology. In my opinion they were more concerned about getting money than helping my dog ???? It totally surprised me when the doctor called me 2 days later to check on my dog after being so unprofessional through the entire ordeal. I'm not one to hold grudges and I'm thankful my dog is still living for now because her diagnosis was terminal but I will not be returning to VCA nor would I recommend them to anyone. Update:8/29/21...My dog Brownie actually died on August 15/21 she started back not eating and died 4 days later but what I can't understand is if the tumor was removed on the 4th how did she die so quickly? The tumor would have had to grow pretty quickly to kill her in 11 days. But I can't say they even took it out since I was never shown anything that was supposedly removed from her. JUST DON'T TRUST THIS PLACE WITH YOUR PET IF THEY BECOME ILL..THEY CARE MORE ABOUT THE MONEY THAN YOUR PET!!!

I took two of my kittens here and they both died the same day they were seen. Funny thing is I was never once told that they weren’t going to make it. They would say “idk”. Instead they wrote up hundred dollar meds and health plans and sent us home. I do not recommend this vet to anyone. They will lie right to your face. They do NOT care about your pet.

I started bringing my rescue dog about 9months ago and my first time here was great. The second visit was great as well. The Vet was very thorough. Yesterday I took him in for trouble that he was having with his ear and he was seen by the Asst. Vet. As soon as they came in the door, I could tell that he thought we were unable to pay for the visit. After telling us that he had an ear infection, the very first thing he said was, do you want us to treat? Of course I wanted him treated!! I really left there stressed out because of that and even though it was way too expensive, I’m glad that we brought him in. Never ever judge the book by looking at the cover. Not so sure that I want to go through that again. People of color are often judged by the color of their skin, but at the vet? Please!!!! No people of color work there either. I wonder why? This is not the 1960’s, it’s 2021. ( Smh). I took my dog back to VCA last month and I had an all together different experience. I enjoyed the visit and so did Chester!!! I got on a care plan and I’m happy with the results of our last visit. Chester is much better and this little stinker is back to himself being frisky and spoiled rotten. Thanks VCA!!! Carrie Gunter and little Chester ????????

We have a very roughly mannered dog who is extremely people unfriendly. The brain staff was able to not only control him but pet him and gain his trust. Thank you so much for working with us. The anxiety of taking a formerly abused rescue to vet was eased thanks to your staff!!! ❤️❤️❤️

I cannot say enough good things about this place. My cat, Stinky, had and emergency situation and our regular vet wasn't in. I called VCA and was told to bring him right in. Dr. Minner and Dr. Brown and the staff were wonderful. Stinky ended up needing surgery. He was sent home to recuperate and the doctors called to check on his progress throughout his recuperation. I can't thank the staff enough for their kindness and caring attitude. I see a lot of complaints about cost but we were very pleased with the end cost considering we had an emergency that ended up with surgery and this was not even our regular vet. We were always given options to keep the cost down. Also, these were medical professionals giving top notch care. Highly revommended.

Great team! My baby girl was really, really sick. Some of the remedies were too pricey for us so we had to make some cuts in the billing without bringing further harm to my girl. The vet assistant was extremely helpful in that respect. We made some choices in eliminating what was needed and what wasn't. At the end of the day my little baby got the needed help without breaking the bank. She now is amazingly better and her old self again. I'd recommend the VCA to anyone.

I have had many dogs and lived in many towns in several states. (even another country) Use to have Haven Lake 10 years ago but since moving back to DE I chose a vet closer to my home. First of all, the prices at VCA are higher than any vet I have ever been too. EVER! I did sign up for the Care plan, put I am still charged ALLOT when I have to come in. Justification is "oh you already used that in your plan." Got a quote for dental for one of my senior pups and it was over $1000.00???? Really??? I about fell on the floor. I called today to ask about a medication my one dog takes for seizures but my other dog got ahold of it and took it instead. (one dose) The receptionist put me on hold then came back on and said the doctor said to call poison control. What? Poison control??? You see all 3 of my dogs, can you at least take the time to tell me if I need to worry about my other dog????? The receptionist then said they could call Poison control for me, but I would be charged. I explained again to please tell me if I need to worry about my dog taking the other dogs meds. This office provided me with the poison control number, which was wrong. I had to call them back and they again gave me another wrong number. I finally Googled the number and found the correct one. I called Poison control and was on a waiting line for 10 minutes (I'm glad my dog was not dying, as far as I know) The poison control center said I would need to pay $75.00 to get an answer to my question. All the money I pay my vet and they can't answer my question. Any other vet I have had, would have gotten on the phone and spoken to me about my concern without sending me to call Poison Control. I am currently looking for a new vet. If you have money to burn, go to VCA. I love Dr. MInner, but unfortunately she is not a big enough reason to stay. So disappointed!!!

They are way beyond expensive and overpriced. They make you sign up for care club plan and they won’t mention it to you, saying it’s a one-year contract. Initially they told me that medication is included too. But once you sign up, they make you to pay for your medication too. They actually don’t listen to you. Dr Brown is always pushy, and all they do is sell you something all the time. Recently, they told me it would be around $600 to have my dog neutered and these people have no sense of customer courtesy. I got my dog neutered at Spay Neuter Clinic in Dover for $127.00. Not only is this office ridiculously overpriced, but the front desk workers never listen or pay attention to details. This office only hunts money and doesn’t care for the animals properly. Worst animal hospital ever. Once my dog had a severe diarrhea and started throwing up and I called the office to reach out Dr. brown and he never retuned my calls. So please be aware of this place and don’t waste your time and money. All their medications are overpriced. For example, they will charge you $39.00 for one Simparica Trio tablet. I didn’t even know that dog wasn’t microchipped until Spay Neuter Clinic in Dover told us. Then why I am paying $58.99 every month? This place has no respect and is only concerned about getting in all your money. Go to Petsmart/Petco or Spay Neuter Clinic in Dover for all your pet shorts and grooming, they are caring and affordable. Sharing my honest opinion here and had a bad experience. I'm not happy and won't be bringing my pet back to them again.

Fast and friendly vet service! The vet (I can’t remember her name) was very patient and took her time talking to me about my dog. I never felt rushed. Will definitely be going back and bringing my other animals to this vet as well!

I brought my dog to be seen because he has a fever, shivers, and has been sneezing. Due to covid I have to sit out in my car to wait to be seen. I’ve came to this facility before as a walk in and my pet was able to be seen in a timely manner. This time I have been sitting in my car for an hour and 30 mins and my pet still hasn’t been seen. I was told that they would try and squeeze me in between an appointment and I think it’s really crazy that I’m sitting here for almost two hours when the doctor will probably see my dog for maybe 20mins. What’s worse is the fact that I called and was told I would be seen shortly, an hour later isn’t shortly.... I had a good experience here before which is why this was my first choice other than my regular vet. But I definitely will never come here again...

Good Staff and affordable. Thankyou Dr.Brown. Had a good experience with Mimi. They really care about the well being of pets and the owners. I told them I was on a budget due to employment circumstances and they really worked with MIMI and I so she could receive the treatment she needs. We really appreciate your honesty and dedication. Thankyou!!! and BEAUTIFUL NEW LOCATION!!!!.. .5 stars wasn't enough so here's 5 more..⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
