I actually want to change my review. VCA has went above and beyond to contact me. I even received a card with everyone's signature, emails, and a care package with a bunch of helpful items. I am quite impressed with their communication. They were also very kind. I initially said they are overpriced but you get what you pay for. I will consider taking the drive to return.

Great place to get your sick pets well.

Update: Happy with the doctors! Staff are friendly and responsive. I would love to see the techs speak to humans like an adult, not the puppy. All still ok. My 3 stars ate for the prices. Not the local VCA’s fault as the fees are corporate mandated. 800-1000$ quote for a spay if a 4lb dog is gouging.

I was desperate for my cat to be seen same day due to an emergency.. I was calling around different vets and all of them were booked up. I was lucky to find this VCA having an opening within hours. The staff here is exceptional. Immediately I felt a sense of relief with the front desk and vet tech. They took their time listening to my concerns and reassured me that everything was going to be okay. Very, very caring people who work here. I met Dr Meh who was very gentle with my anxious cat. Dr Meyer is wonderful too. Both of these vets you can tell love their job. Seriously thank you all, vet techs and doctors and the front desk for being so compassionate and getting my baby back to feeling normal. This will be my new vet as long as I live in MD.

I was so impressed with the level of customer service and care here at VCA. With covid restrictions they take your dog and you wait outside which can sometimes be stressful, but they were SO organized and still communicated everything so well, even though we couldn't be in the room. The vet was amazing, the vet techs are fabulous, I know my dog was loved and well taken care of, and we all around had a great experience. I will definitely be returning to VCA with any vet needs.

After bringing my dog in for a same day appointment Dr. Myer was very caring and involved throughout the whole process. Getting bad news about the health of a beloved pet is always difficult, but Dr. Myer was very informative and made me feel like I wasn’t alone. Not only was she extremely helpful in caring for my dog, but she also noticed I had a flat tire and a vet technician helped me change my tire. It was really so sweet that they helped me do that and made sure both my dog and I were able to get home safely. I’m very grateful for their help. I’ve been using this vet for about 4 years and don’t trust my furry friends with anyone else. 10/10 would recommend.

The staff is kind, gentle and always go out of their way to answer all of my questions. My dog may not love going to the vet but he does like all of the people there.

I recently moved to the Columbia area and unfortunately my 13 year old lab deteriorated quickly upon our arrival. I made the tough decision that it was time to say goodbye and called VCA Columbia. I had never been there and didn’t know what to expect. I can honestly say they are the friendliest, kindest and most caring veterinarian office I have ever been to. They are compassionate about the animals and their clients. I honestly was in shock by how much love and care they showed my dog that they had never met. Obviously, having to go in for a euthanasia appointment is terrible no matter what, but the staff there made it the best experience they could. They even followed up with a card in the mail expressing their condolences for my loss. Truly an amazing group of people. If you go here, you will be in good hands.

The staff are fantastic. We have been taking our pets here for years and the care provided has always been extremely high quality. They give us information relevant to an appropriate level of care as well as extra care options for the long term health and well-being of our pets. Pro tip: consider pet insurance (their care plan or one from an independent insurer) to amortize pet health expenses over a period of time.

They are always super friendly! Dr.Wronski has to be the BEST vet I’ve ever met! I’ve owned dogs my entire life and they always dread going to the vet. Not with VCA and Dr.Wronski & everyone there treating my dogs like royalty. Thank you so much guys, can’t recommend you enough!!!

My first time visiting with a young adopted kitten (Vanilly) for its post adoption wellness check and they were so nice and friendly. You can sense that they really care about your pet. Also, they initially reached out to me to schedule the appointment within a few days after the adoption. Great customer service. True professionals.

The best vet in Columbia, MD! They’re super friendly and have great communication skills. My cat was seen by a veterinarian here and the doctor was super gentle with him and offered me some discounts with his medication. Additionally, I needed some paperwork filled out for other purposes and Shannon at the front desk has been super helpful and was great at keeping me in the loop of the process. She went above and beyond and I’m so thankful!

In short: Expensive and predatory. Cost was just under $400 for basic check-up, yearly vaccines (distemper/parvo, lepto, lyme), and an anal gland expression. This is more than twice what our previous vet charged for the same service. Call and ask for prices before hand and compare them to google results describing the typical cost of these services. If price were spot on, I'd give 3-4 stars. Service was fine, but nothing special. Cut that in half because it was about 2x the appropriate cost. update: I'm dropping my rating one star because our poor little guy got an infection following their expressing of his anal glads. Required a costly emergency treatment and now a heavy dose of antibiotics... We've been using our vet rather than a groomer precisely because we wanted to avoid this... ____________________________________ I'm recent to the area, took our dog for his yearly vaccine update and also got a fecal and heart worm test. Very standard stuff. Vet was fine, but definitely had an agenda to sell more. Could not believe how much propaganda they sent home with us. Wasteful garbage. Maybe in these Covid times, they put all the pamphlets in "just in case." Might not be their fault, but the anal expression left him more sensitive/irritated than our typical vet trips (have been doing them every 4-8 weeks for about a year, so we're pretty aware of how he typically behaves with them). The vet was nice and described how our dog was in excellent health. This was fine, didn't expect any new information to come from this. They are perfectly within their right to charge what they want, but pricing should be discussed beforehand. I neglected to do so considering this was a routine check-up. That said, we're also welcome to find another vet, which we will be doing.

Dr. Englander and Dr. Meh are by far the best vets I've ever taken my cats too. They are knowledgeable, always up to date on the latest treatments and procedures and genuinely care about you and your pets. Whenever I have questions I know I can call the office and they will return my phone call in a timely fashion.

They really care about your pets. Like others have said it is expensive compared to other places, but the level of care they receive is commensurate with the price

They took very good care of our dog and sadly we had to put her down but the staff is kind and honest and very respectful of different owner needs!

I’ve been taking my dog Daisy here for 12 years. The front desk staff was always just ok.... I called today to try to make an appointment and explained that my dog was sick. Sarah said they didn’t have any appointments I said well can you fit me in anywhere she said I’m not going to go back and fourth, laughed and hung up on me!!!! No way I’m bringing my dog back up there. So sad she went off like that, I understand having a bad day but to laugh at me. Spend your money elsewhere!!!!

I love this place. They are very well staffed and everyone is pleasant, kind and very helpful. My rescue cat has been very well taken care of by them. They were ready for my appointment on time and kept me informed every step of the way. The doctor explained everything clearly and also gave me lots of valuable information. Great place with great people!!!

Wonderful staff who love their patients. My dog wanted to stay and visit with everyone instead of leaving when her appointment was done.

Excellent care from an incredible staff of loving Vets, Techs, and staff. Your loved ones are in good hands!

Absolutely love Dr. Meyer and most of the vet techs but their inability to work with sick visits after calling 1 minute after opening is getting ridiculous. I’ve spent hundreds in the past two weeks to treat one dog, and now two weeks later both my dogs are sick again. My only option given is to call back tomorrow right when they open and try again. That isn’t a viable option with work schedules and when your dog is sick you don’t want to keep waiting. I really like Dr. Meyer and wish I could keep going but the rudeness of the front desk staff and pricing is high. Jessica has been an amazing help in mitigating our concerns. They have been extremely kind and took suggestions, hopefully their scheduling improves soon!
