Reception lied to my face and blamed the law. No I'm sorry there is no Maryland law that says you have to remove the dog from their owners to examine them.

I like all the vets here but the vet I'm truly happy to have found is Dr Beyer. Her bedside manner is phenomenal. I've heard her comfort emotional owners, she's always been very attentive to me and my pets and she does great follow up. I am truly grateful to find her. I don't ever feel like she's trying to sell me on things. She's very upfront with how much things cost and what more cost friendly options would be when I'm struggling financially and she's very honest about what she thinks I should do. She also really listens to your intuition as an owner which I appreciate. Truly an amazing vet.

They let one vaccinated owner come back with their pet today. Technicians and veterinarian were friendly toward my dog who was excited to meet everyone. Front desk was friendly when checking me in and out. They gave my dog a treat after taking vaccination shots.

Great place to get medical help for your dog or cat. Can make appointments and have vet see your pet. Plenty of parking with ease of getting in and out. Convenient location too.

This vet office inadvertently gave my dog meds that were supposed to be given to another dog without me being allowed in the office. My dog has not been the same since, like that same day to present. They apologized and pledged to make 'things right', but when confronted with the sad reality that they might have caused these health and energy changes in my dog, they told us to go elsewhere because trust was broken. Well trust was broken, and things were not made right. We will gladly go elsewhere and this event will be documented.

Had to put 1 star because the lowest you can, but Frederick Road Veterinary Hospital deserves no stars. In fact, Frederick Road Veterinary Hospital shouldn’t even be in business. The techs at Frederick Road Veterinary Hospital wouldn’t let me back with my dog and had him for nearly an hour for an appointment earlier this month. When he was returned to me, I asked the vet tech if he was given anything and if he should be normal. They said he was fine, it was just a routine checkup. This was a Friday afternoon. By Saturday it was clearly apparent my dog was not the same. His normal playful demeanor and zest for life completely disappeared. He wouldn’t eat for nearly a week. My dog now lays down during walks for as long as 45 minutes before having the strength to go back in (mind you he’s a young healthy dog who NEVER acted like this). He would yelp in pain when I touched his shoulder blades and back area, so I knew he was injected with something. I checked and rechecked the invoice, but there was no mention of any injections. I knew they did something, so I called Frederick Road Veterinary Hospital and pressed them about it. Eventually they nonchalantly said “yeah one of our vet techs gave him an injection by mistake, it was for another dog so we didn’t charge you” implying I should be grateful for the “free” mystery injection my dog received which completely affected his behavior. When I told them about his issues they said “There’s no way that’s from us, we did nothing to affect your dog.” But the fact remains that I was not allowed in the building when they wrongly injected my dog and he has not been the same since the visit where I was not present with him. They attempted to cover it up . This is a clear breach in trust. The owner Alex seemed to initially understand that they messed up and should make things right. However, when I wanted a CBC and follow up tests to ensure there is nothing else wrong with him, Alex said he did not feel comfortable treating my dog anymore at Frederick Road Veterinary Hospital. The vets at Frederick Road Veterinary Hospital failed to make the situation right and at the first sign of uncomfortably, they hid and asked me to treat my dog elsewhere. The staff at Frederick Road Veterinary Hospital is clearly scared because they KNOW they are in the wrong. If you had a child who was brought into a doctors appointment and your child was given injections “by mistake” and the doctors didn’t tell you because they were “for another child”, they would lose their business and likely be in jail. Frederick Road Veterinary Hospital thinks that dogs and animals don’t deserve rights. They hide behind the vail of their veterinary coats with arrogance I have never before experienced. If you are considering taking your pet to Frederick Road Veterinary Hospital, don’t be surprised when they take advantage of you and your pet, and try to overcharge you. Long story short, if you are looking for a veterinary hospital in the Catonsville area, pick any vet except Frederick Road Veterinary Hospital.

I have been taking my now 13 yr old American Staffy terrier, Merv here since he was 7. We switched from a previous vet who was great. However, our dog Merv developed cancer at 7 and it was surgically removed by Dr. Lisa. The treatment Merv received was outstanding! We decided to continue care there. Dr. Dan and Dr. Lisa are a husband and wife POWER TEAM! Their staff is excellent and not at all timid by our 70+ lb “bully breed”. There is NOTHING they cannot do. Merv has been seen for routine wellness checks to life saving surgery. I am forever grateful!

I have nothing but great things to say about the entire staff. We switched vets for our dog right after she severely injured her leg and needed to be seen 3x a week. Not only did they care and love on our dog well, but they were so friendly and kind to us and always kept us updated on how things were going. We are SO glad we found such a great team to treat our pup now and in the future!

A decent local vet. They care for your fur baby, but they will try and sell you the farm if you're not careful. Don't fall for it and you'll be fine.

They truly care about their pts(especially Dr. Franchini...I would/ have follow her anywhere). They emailed me almost every day when my dog, Spencer, was in the hospital. They sent me a beautiful rose when my dog, Spencer, unfortunately passed away relatively unexpe...I was very touched by that simple gesture.

We switched to this vet when my former vet retired and I'm so glad we did. Dr. Beyer is the most attentive vet I've ever met; my dogs now get better medical care than I do! When my 9 year old Schnauzer got very ill, Dr. Beyers gave us her cell phone number and texted us advice throughout the night, when we thought things were touch and go. When we needed medical records transferred from the emergency clinic and they were not faxing them as promised, Ruth, one of the wonderful front desk workers, actually went to the emergency clinic and picked up the records herself. My old girl fully recovered and I believe its in part due to Dr. Beyers care. My dogs used to be terrified as soon as I stepped in the vets office with them and now they're excited to go because they know they always get attention, love and treats! I highly recommend Frederock Road Vet hospital.

This visit was to put down Raven, my buddy for more than 16 years. The staff was great and the process was as painless as they could make it. We trust them to care for all our dogs. Thank you, FRVH!
