They'll tell you they have appointments available, make you send all the documentation of your pet, answer another 8 e-mails and then tell you they actually are not taking appointments. Awful service.

Dr. Shook and her team have been absolutely phenomenal! I adopted my cat Onyx at the beginning of the pandemic and have been bringing her back to CityPets consistently for her checkups. Overall great customer service and they genuinely care about my pets overall health. As long as I’m living in the DMV, CityPets will be always be my primary choice.

City Pets is a great place to bring your pets for care. Dr. Shook is an excellent vet. She is very knowledgeable and thorough when it comes to diagnosing a condition or illness, and she cares about the well being of both the pet and the human. Her staff is also very knowledgeable and very nice to deal with. I’ve been going to Dr. Shook for more than 10 years for both cats and a dog. I wouldn’t dream of taking my pets anywhere else. She’s the best! Still provide exceptional pet care even at curbside, thanks! ????

Been taking both our dog and cat here for years! They’ve always been incredibly professional and kind. Even after we loved another 30 mins away we continue to go here. Highly recommend.

I have nothing but great things to say about CityPets. I moved from out of state last year with a cat and a dog and was able to get an appointment almost as soon as I arrived. They are very professional, respond to calls and emails almost immediately, and always have availability. Even with COVID-19 I have been able to get appointments when I've needed them. Their curbside system is exceptionally efficient.

We had a great experience at City Pets..my little baby was nervous but they were gentle with his shots and he never saw it coming. The prices were reasonable. And I definitely think of them when I need pet care.

I've been going here for 2 years now and highly recommend it to anyone in the city. Our dog loves going here as she gets nothing but love and great care from everyone on the staff. Dr. Shook makes everything easy for us and feel that the cost is well worth it.

I was a few minutes late to my appointment, due to it being the first time visit and construction right outside their building. I tried to call and let them know, but couldn't get through. By the time I got someone on the phone, they had already cancelled my appointment. They could not reschedule until late next week. My biggest issue was that they seem to only give each patient a 15 minute window to be seen, which likely would not have been enough time to answer all of my questions AND still see to the various shots, etc for my puppy.

Dr. Shook and her staff have been taking wonderful care of our bulldog for over ten years. Our visits are always very prompt and efficient, and I can usually get day-of appointments for illnesses or an emergency. Pricing for procedures and medications are very reasonable. I would recommend CityPets to all city residents, especially those in South Baltimore because of the convenient location. We have remained CityPets customers even after moving out of the downtown area because our experiences have been so consistently positive. The staff is competent and compassionate, and our dog isn't nervous to visit because he likes everyone so much.

I can't say enough good things about CityPets. They answered my many questions when I was a new dog owner and eased my anxiety when I thought my dog had an infection. Recently I was many hours away from Baltimore when my dog ate something he shouldn't have and they provided me guidance and support over the phone, detailing exactly what I needed to do and explaining the signs to look for that would indicate I need to bring him to a vet. They even followed up a few days later. Pretty amazing customer service considering they weren't getting paid for this particular situation!

Extremely knowledgeable and compassionate towards your animals! Everyone who works here truly cares about your fur babies, and will do their absolute best to ensure they get the best care. They are not an emergency room for animals (which do exist other places in the city when the need calls), but will try their hardest to see you as soon as possible. They are great animal lovers, professionals, and people.

This has taken me 5 months to write. I hope whoever reads this, thinks twice about bringing their pet here, especially if you have a Senior pet. After moving to Baltimore in November, about a month later I brought my senior cat (21 years old) to have him checked out and to establish a new vet. He had a rough 2017 and had had seizures. The medicIne also gave him diabetes. And although I knew it would be tough, he did ok in the move, at first. But he soon began to decline. All of this was told to this vet at his first appointment. 3 weeks later my cat had what seemed to me to be another seizure or worse, a mini stroke. It was appx 5 pm on a Friday night. I was distraught and felt the end was near. But since I’m not a vet I called to see if I could bring him in and have him checked out - I needed a professional medical diagnosis to understand what was happening before putting him to sleep. The receptionist who answered that evening told me that the Dr had no appt. and was filled. I again explained the seriousness of what happened. It seemed to me that it didn’t matter much to her. I was very surprised and asked (pleaded) that I could bring him there ASAP. Surely a vet would understand if this was near the end of his life. Plus, they closed at 7 pm that evening - which was still 2 hours away. I moved from NYC where they wouldn’t have even blinked to bring your very sick pet in. She told me she’d have the Dr call me. I felt better and started gathering his bag and my coat etc thinking I’d be leaving soon. The vet called at about 5:30ish. She asked what happened and I explained that he may have had a mini stroke but I wasn’t sure and maybe needed to be put to sleep. She said she didn’t have any appointment that evening. I was shocked but persisted and asked about the next morning or afternoon. She had nothing until sometime on Monday. I was angry and in tears. I know i must have questioned it. But whatever else was said. I just hung up shocked. It made a very sad event much more stressful. I took him 35 minutes away to an emergency vet instead. My cat crossed the rainbow bridge the next day. It was his time. But I will never forget what CityPets had done. It was cruel, wrong and frankly, unreasonable and unprofessional for a vet. I question the character of a person who wouldn’t allow a dying cat to come in when the office was open. The emergency vet in Catonsville was wonderful to him and I’m very thankful for that. But honestly, if you read this and you are considering a vet, ask yourself if you feel ok with a vet that wouldn’t allow you to come in if it was your dog or cat who had a sudden medical emergency.

CityPets is always so accommodating and welcoming of myself and Dwight (my cat)! I'm so glad they are close to home and make it easy for Dwight to get the check-up he needs.
