Our healthy 4 year old dog started to experience major issues that ended to be neurological. We could not find anyone to help but this office. They were so organized, polite, friendly, companionate and beyond ready to do whatever they could and we wanted to find what was happening to our dog. I will be forever grateful for their help. The staff was beyond friendly and polite and the doctors as well. I do not remember the first doctor that examined him but doctor Archambault was so kind and informative and it was so nice he took the time to speak to us directly and literally gives us a detailed description of what could be wrong, options and procedures. Again thank you all. I will only recommend this hospital to anyone I know that need specialized help

We are so grateful for the care our beloved Simon Cat received here. He had a health emergency two nights ago and we didn't know where to go. We found the Blue Pearl in Rockville and raced him over. They kept him overnight, identified that it was neurological, and in the morning called on our behalf to help us get in with an emergency veterinary neurologist. Veterinary Neurology of the Chesapeake were able to squeeze him in. We are so grateful for Emily's and Dr. Archambault's expertise and support during a heartbreaking time for us. They both took time to fully explain the situation to us and made recommendations without pressuring us. They were patient with our distress and were kind and compassionate. Because of their efforts we were able to let Simon go gently knowing we did everything we possibly could for him and that he was in good hands. We are also grateful to the desk and nursing staff for helping take care of our fur child. Thank you.

Very poor doctor staffing the last 3 years. Billing they understand. Ongoing doctor staffing problems have caused MAJIR problems.

Charged $225 to tell us we needed an MRI. Told me they’d call about scheduling.... never did.

VNIC provided assessment for our dogs' seizures. The bill they presented was significantly higher than the estimates that were discussed after the morning assessment. My understanding and detailed notes reflected a dollar amount only for assessment, MRI, and CSF collection and analysis. At the end of the day, VNIC presented a bill that included several other factors. My advice if you engage them, is to explicitly limit them to a dollar figure and ask them to call you with justification for other services. VNIC hasn't developed the ability to provide an accurate dollar estimate, they need to be supervised by their clients.

Never a happy new time to have to use an emergency vet but Dr Riley and everyone was so helpful and kind. My emergency had an additional complication that was quickly, efficiently, and compassionately managed. VERY impressed!

Dr. Harvey was able to diagnose our dog when no one else could. We had been to three other veterinarians and specialist trying to figure out what was wrong with him. She was the only one that was able to discover that he was suffering from meningitis. She saved his life! Dr. Harvey is warm and personable and is truly passionate about what she does. The staff is just as wonderful as always greets us with a smile and extra love and attention for our dog. Could not ask for a better veterinarian to take care of our animal family members. Highly recommend!

I can not speak highly enough of my experiences thus far. Dr. Archambault and the staff I have communicated/interacted with including but not limited to Katie, Jake, Mandy and others names I do not know or remember have proven what I expect quality care to be. I have a 6 year old cat/Oliver that started having seizures this Summer. I was given two Neuro office referrals by an emergency vet we initially went to. I proceeded to establish care with one of them and unfortunately it was not the place for us. We slipped through the cracks more than once at critical moments leading me to switch Oliver's care to Veterinary Neurology and Imaging of the Chesapeake in Annapolis. I am so glad to have made the switch and wish I had gone to them from the start. Everyone we have dealt with, from the initial phone calls to the Vet Technicians, Anesthesiologist, and certainly Dr. Archambault have restored my confidence in my cat's care. They listen to every word with care while remaining focused and do not skip a beat in the process. I feel heard and I feel Oliver is in the best hands he can be in. It is over an hours drive for me and I will gladly continue to make that drive every time in order to provide Oliver the care he needs. Also, They navigate the new normal of care while dealing with Covid with ease. It is not easy for anyone right now let alone providers and while I know they are working very hard, they don't allow you to feel or be slighted in the process. I can not thank Dr. Archambault and the the team at CRVC enough for navigating this new road with Oliver and I.

Dr. Harvey and her group are fantastic. She has a pragmatic approach and takes the time to talk through options and the associated pros and cons. Everyone in the office is friendly and caring.

I was unsure about a neurologist appointment when my 5 month puppies starting showing signs of hydrocephalus due to cost. I knew I had to do something. I neede answers to my questions. I made my appointment with Dr Harvey and I was clear of my concerns with cost and we talked about options. She was wonderful, she worked with me. My sweetheart had a set back before her one month recheck. This is when I meet Dr Archambault. He examine my puppy in front me me with his wonderful assist Lindsey. He explained in great detail. I explain my cost concerns and we talked. He treat my puppy as if she was his own. He gave me the good the bad and ugly. My sweetheart has the worse case and he created a plan. His honestly and his care to go above and beyond for Luna and my family has made me a support of the group. I know the cost can be scary. But if you are in need of a great doctor. Please please seek out Dr Nick Archambault!

We saw a neurologist for my cat's paralyzed hind legs. She was in a critical condition. Dr. McDonnell did x-rays and blood tests. With nothing showing on x-ray, they were supposed to get back to us in 1~2 days with blood tests. On the third day, we called back and the neurologist didn't have all the blood test results but presumptive diagnosed my cat with FIP which is non-testable and non-curable. Then went on to suggest MRI to make it definitive. This is with toxoplasmosis results still not back yet. On the 4th day I questioned the doctor why the result is not back yet and he said it usually takes 7 days. A lot of red flags here. This place is money hungry. First, toxoplasmosis test should take no longer than 2 business days. How do I know that? I looked up different labs offering same tests. Some even offer same day results and most I have looked did it for about half the cost. Even if 7 day turnaround was standard at their practice this should have been communicated better. Besides, infection test turnaround time of 7 day is ridiculous as the cat will just die before the result come back. Also, the doctor suggested MRI on a cat that he just called a death sentence on to make it definitive. A $3000 test that will most likely reveal nothing. Here is the kicker. I went ahead and started treating the cat as if she has toxoplasmosis. She started gaining feeling back in her leg and walking again in 2 days. This makes me believe that FIP diagnosis was wrong though I don't have the test result back yet. The clindamycin oral solution was less than $20. Solid empiric antibiotic therapy we could have tried instead of an MRI. I understand everyone wishes best of care for their pets and tests are necessary sometimes. I agree X-ray and blood tests were necessary in this case. However, there are things we can try without making the condition worse. We could have tried antibiotics that we can suspect and see if she improves in a couple days. This is commonly done in healthcare for humans as well because it is important to treat infection as soon as possible. It is a practical strategy because antibiotics are cheap and rarely harmful. This doctor or clinic does not think in practical way and they will try to order any test they can/want. We almost got sucked into doing an MRI for nothing. I would strongly discourage going here if anyone is considering.

I hit the jackpot with the new neurologist - Nick Archambault. My dog's recent accident left him partially paralyzed and I didn't want to lose him. This doctor, as well as the staff, worked out a plan of action for cure and took excellent care of him post-surgery. I was grateful for the attention and bed-side manner and Dr Nick and the staff. Pogo is on the mend and I owe his quick recovery to these guys!!

I feel that the facillty was good. Staff seemed nice. Unfortunately we didn’t get a Good outcome for our girl. I reported her seizures on the app and requested to be contacted. We reported many seizures over the course of four or five days and never heard from anyone. Disappointed with that lack of contact. Also the vet spoke by phone with us after mri was completed to report the findings. We were under the impression that we may have 3-6 month We had days. It left us unprepared for her death. Sad sad days for this family

Absolutely the worst experience I’ve had with a veterinarian office . The vet herself Dr Harvey was very nice but how everything was handled was awful. We drove 2hrs for a 10am appointment from a recommendation from our local vet. Our 7 month old boxer puppy was having issues. We met with Dr Harvey and she felt confident it was an auto immune meningitis she recommended a mri which seemed to be very expensive est $2,000-4,000 we asked if there was another option she said we could do X-rays and a spinal tap. My fiancé asked that wouldn’t his current meds affect the spinal tap results she said they wouldn’t. We asked how much to do the X-rays and spinal tap they created an estimate told us the cost was $1090-1700 and if we wanted to go ahead with it we’d pay the low end so we did, not knowing the spinal tap wasn’t included in the low end estimate which is what we asked for in the first place. So they inform us that they can’t do the X-rays and spinal tap until later in the day . She asked what time we needed to leave by so my fiancé could be at work on time, we said 12:30 she said that wouldn’t be possible but she could do 1or2 . We said we could make that work. My fiancé called her work and let them know she’d be late . So we go and hangout at the Annapolis mall waiting to hear when we can get our dog. 2 o’clock rolls around no update so we call . We get a call back at 3 that we can pick him up at 4 . If we would’ve known it was going to take that long my fiancé would’ve taken the entire day off . So we go to pick up our dog only to find out we owe another $700 because they failed to include that on the low end of the estimate. I’m upset because of how this entire visit went. Then to top it off I’m paying more than expected and now have to drive home in rush hour 5 o’clock Baltimore traffic. All it would’ve taken was some better communication on their part. We didn’t get results until Tuesday 5 days after our visit and that was only after I called to see what was going on. Here’s the best part the results told us there was inflammation. What a giant waste of time and money. I wish I could give them zero stars .

I found the staff to be very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Dr. Harvey impressed me with her broad knowledge and diagnosed very quickly what was wrong with my dog, whereas my local vet had been unable to accurately diagnose what was going on.

I had an emergency visit for my dog a few weeks ago and saw Dr. Archambault. While the news was devastating, I felt my dog was in the best care possible. I thank Dr. Archambault for his kindness and support during a very difficult, sad time.

Dr. Jay McDonnell and his staff are very professional and they all are amazing. We brought our 4 y.o. Shih Tzu Benny to see Dr. McDonnell. Benny was struggling to walk; he was falling down when he tried to stand up. After MRI and a lot of other tests they found that Benny had a herniated disc, ruptured neck disk and some neurological issues. He was scheduled for a neck surgery. But after staying in the hospital for a few hours Dr. McDonnell decide not to do a surgery and he start treating Benny with steroids and some other medications. Benny stayed at the hospital for three days and his condition started to improve slowly. He also got himself a girlfriend, who was taking a great care of him – Beth!!! He loves her dearly! Benny’s condition is improving every day, he still taking his meds; now he is able to walk, he got back appetite and he start playing with his toys again!
