After moving here and taking my dog to this vet, I initially was pleased with how kind they were. After a follow-up a week later, I never received a follow up call. Later, I would call them and ask why they never called me about the results. The lady said "well it was a busy signal" I asked why they never tried again, she said "it was a busy signal" and completely dismissed any wrongdoing. My dog got treated with Prednisone, with the bottle saying that it expired in 10/30/2018. It was issued on 12/06/2021, so you can imagine how upset it would make me. When I asked about it, they said "We don't carry expired medication". While I would like to believe them, I asked how I could possibly know that for a fact instead of just taking their word for it. I asked why nobody would check the bottle to make sure and her response was "Well we know that it's not expired so..." I explained that I was upset because not 2 weeks after my dog was at York, we had to bring her into the emergency. I asked the doctor if expired medication could cause a progression and worsening of issues, she said yes. Sadly, we had to put our girl down, and it was heartbreaking. I needed to know why my bottle said it was expired. She blamed it on a hack that they experienced 6 months prior. I told her that this seemed very negligent. She didn't care, didn't take any accountability, and didn't acknowledge that my dog is gone. I wanted to like this place, but some of the staff are cold-hearted and unapologetic for any wrongdoing. So, I never got word back from my dog's bloodwork, the medication is listed as expired, and my dog is no longer with me. I did not have a good experience with York and I will not be bringing my other animals here.

Great service, come to car service during Covid. They've been wonderful while dealing with emergency pet issues.

Be very careful! We entrusted our cats care to Dr.Bill They have been fine w routine stuff but when it came time that an issue arose with our cat they dropped the ball completely We brought our cat to see Dr. Bill two weeks ago we were instructed to have a series of tests completed we agreed and were told the test results would come in 1 to 4 days After a week we had not heard from York Animal Hospital so WE called We were told that the test results were delayed and that we would have to wait another 24 to 48 hours tops THEN AGAIN no phone call from YORK ANIMAL HOSPITAL On day 10 our cat was in an immense amount of pain we called still no results and we were told to go to an emergency clinic, not their hospital, an emergency clinic …,think about that We then requested them to cancel the tests and went to emergency care to run tests for our cats care Finally two weeks after our cats visit to YAH, the Vet Bill called us Not only did he not take responsibility for their lack of care but we were told by Bill that they are at the “WHIM OF THEIR LAB“ had we been told that information upfront we never would have entrusted our animals care to their service “THE WHIM OF THEIR LAB” think about that two full weeks later we finally got the results After bringing our cat to emergency care and receiving proper care and guidance he is doing better and we are moving on but not before we make one more stop with the Better Business Bureau Think not only twice but three times before and trusting your babies care here, it was negligent at best for our cat and abusive to our wallet I noticed something very important and it’s a good lesson they got their money but we did not get his care!!

Dr. Bill and the staff are so warm and welcoming. My dog got an exam, a few boosters and suggestions for her overall health. They are professional and caring. Thank you, York Animal Hospital! Lucy says hi????

York animal hospital has been wonderful to our sweet pup and to us! They are always friendly and take the time to inform me about my guys visits. The doctors are great, they always explain in detail how the visit/check up was! I reccomend them highly!

We have been taking our cats here for about five years now. Dr Bill Walak is great with our cats and with communicating with us. We appreciate that he, his wife who is also a veterinarian, and his staff are operating with curbside drop off and pickup for our pets with a phone call to discuss treatment options after examination during these covid-19 times.

This veterinary hospital does a thorough check of our dogs, and spends time answering our questions. We value that a lot.

We've been taking our cats here since 2012 when we adopted our first kitty. We weren't sure what to expect when Dr. Ross left a few years ago, but Dr. Bill and Dr. Barb are amazing! We have a big, feisty, tuxedo cat who can be difficult to manage. Ok, he's a pain, but the vet techs and vets go above and beyond to make it a pleasant experience for everyone! They also follow all COVID procedures well. Thank you for keeping us all safe!

Awesome, knowledgeable team with great customer service. They helped my cat get better when my previous vet nickel and dimed me as she got sicker and sicker. York Animal Hospital has her back at tip top shape for an affordable price.

My small 14 pound dog had knee surgery (patella luxation) last summer and he is 100% back to normal and the happiest pup he could be! Amazing staff, kept me calm and informed, and excellent surgeon. Highly recommend!!!

After using the same vet for 20 years and having some issues, I made the decision to switch to The York Animal Hospital and it was the best move I have ever made. It is run by Dr. Bill and his wife plus a great and friendly staff who go out of their way to help you . I cannot say how much I appreciate Dr. Barb and her staff. I am from out of state and our dog had a breathing emergency. The office allowed us to come immediately and addressed her issues with concerned and caring demeanour.. We were met in the parking lot and my Gracie was taken directly into the triage unit and placed in oxygen area . I’ve fluids were administered also and xrays taken for a diagnosis. Constant updates were provided to us.. I would be SO VERY COMFORTABLE recommending this facility to anyone looking for a competent, caring, professional veterinarian . Again thank you so much for helping us in our time of need????

Eli blew out his knee and it was suggested that I go there and have the visiting surgeon, Dr Clark, do the surgery. I was so reluctant to go to a new vet that I never met and a traveling surgeon. I made an appointment prior to scheduling the surgery to meet with Dr Bill and have him look at Eli, who is 14 yrs old. Needless to say, I was terrified for Eli based on his age alone to undergo any type of surgery. I cannot express the relief I felt after meeting Dr Bill and having him examine Eli, do bloodwork and then discuss a plan. He truly calmed my fears. He is very kind and compassionate with the animals and their parents. I can't thank him enough. Eli now has a new vet. I would also like to mention how kind and caring the staff is. They too were very patient and understanding with me. I never did get to meet Dr Clark. I did look up his credentials and they were very impressive. I would like to say he did a phenomenal job on Eli's leg and added to his quality of life. The after care was also top notch. So thank you, one and all for all you've done. I highly recommend this establishment for any of your veterinarian needs.

This animal hospital is kind and compassionate. The care of your favorite furry friends is top priority. I was explained everything about what was happening with my little friend. I understood the process and what was going on. The health and safety of my pet means everything to me and the staff understands that their outstanding caring and informative. Had to bring our kitten in for a fall that resulted in a gash on her backside. They fit us in right away, took great care of our girl and even squeezed her into emergency surgery right away. Couldn't have asked for better care. We will be back and will bring our dog there as well. Highly recommend to anyone in search of a new veterinarian

York Animal Hospital has the best veterinarians in and around York, ME! It's always a good experience working with them. The receptionist is very nice, and the doctors are nice and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this Animal Hospital!
