Visited them at their new location to have our kitten neutered. Poor guy. The reception team were so efficient and welcoming. The medical staff made him as comfortable as he could be and were just so pleasant and professional. With two dogs as well, we have found our new animal doctors. A++

We've been going here for 10+ years. Always a great experience with friendly, helpful staff. The last year, our oldest dog has been experiencing some issues and we got to see just how great Dr. Arsenault and the whole staff really are. She's been very helpful, kind, and repeatedly gone out of her way. She will call us after a busy day and walk us through the results, the options etc. She's been great at laying out options, next steps. She's never tried to "sell" on the most expensive solution, but the solution that makes the most sense. I feel lucky they look after our dogs.

Staff is very friendly there. Jillian and Dr. Abbott were very patient and gentle with our little cat . They were very thorough with our cat's care and took the time to explain what she needs at present (and what we might need to look out for later). At each step of care they asked us if we were comfortable proceeding and if we had any questions. They addressed all concerns today and made sure we understood the plan of care. They are very up front with estimates of care costs and give you time to make informed decisions without feeling pushed into anything. Great place!

On vacation with the grandpuppy who developed an ear infection. These folks gave us an appointment despite the fact that we are not clients and saw and treated our little sweetie. My daughter emailed them a signed insurance form and they took care of submitting it. Really nice , caring people.

We recently had to say good bye to our 18 year old cat. The team at Lafayette Animal Hospital was extremely compassionate to both us, and our pet. The doctor took all the time we needed and explained all of our options. The situation was sudden and stressful but they made it so comfortable at the same time. I received a hand written sympathy card from the doctor and signed by the staff with a beautiful poem. We are so grateful for this group!

I love these folks and my finicky Boston Terrier Homer loves them as well! Same extremely capable and caring demeanor moved with them to their great new facility. Trust the staff completely! Dr. BH is a joy for Homer to have as his healthcare heroine!

I highly recommend Lafayette Animal Hospital in Portsmouth, NH. They treated my furry baby like it was their own pet. My Mojo got into a fight with a neighbor cat and he got clawed. We were keeping it clean and made the vet aware of his wounds. Took pictures and sent it to them. Said it look good and clean. Following week Mojo was not himself and called and I had an appointment the following morning. They clean out all his wounds. Gave him fluids and meds. He was back to himself in a day. They follow up after an appointment. All the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. I’m glad I have them for my furry babies.

I have been taking my 3 cats here for over a year now and they have always been polite and accommodating. Due to covid, you have to wait in your car and they come and collect them so I haven't been able to go in the room with my cats yet. But the doctor calls while doing the exam and talks you through what's happening etc. The staff seem friendly and seem to take good care of my cats. When I needed to take one for a scan, they called a different place and booked me in so I wouldn't have to do anything. It was a great experience. I will continue using them as my primary vet. I definitely recommend.

This Vet office used to be wonderful. The older docs were great and would answer a simple question via email to avoid coming in for something very minor. My annual vet visit last year was my last visit to this vet. There is a new doctor who has made sweeping changes and the prices have increased dramatically. The worst part is that they do not work with the customer to procure their medication through 1-800-PETMEDS. They want you to buy their heartworm and preventative meds through their vet office for 2x the 1-800-PETMEDS cost. When I asked why they made it so difficult to buy meds elsewhere they responded “because we don’t know where they get their meds”. Uhhh ok it’s a nationwide company. I’m certain if there were any issues with their medications it would be made aware long before it would be discovered if there was an issue with this vets medications. The new, younger doctor was also dismissive and condescending. When I asked if there was an OTC allergy med for my dogs itching she said no and tried to convince me to buy two medications that would cost over $150/month. My new vet (health and wellness in Hampton Falls) recommended trying OTC Zyrtec first. Much more affordable and works great for our dog. I was reluctant to leave a review but my experience left such a poor taste in my mouth I had to say something. Also, I thought it was in poor taste that the new vet left the poor vet tech to run back and forth from the exam room to answer all my questions and couldn’t be bothered to answer me face to face. So strange.

I have been bringing my dogs to see Dr. Arsenault since I moved here in 2012 and have been extremely happy with their care. From the vets to the techs and front desk staff, the whole team is professional, courteous and resourceful. They offer excellent, compassionate medical care and I would highly recommend!

My dogs and I have always been greeted here with warmth and a feeling of true caring for our four-legged friends. The staff and Veterinarians too are quite engaging and always answer any questions I have and I never feel rushed. Cant wait to to to the new location!

If you are looking for a place that is professional, kind and knowledgeable then take your fur baby to Lafayette Animal Hospital. They explain everything to you so you understand and love your fur babies like they were their own. We are so happy with them. They Are the most wonderful group of people and end up your friends ????

We always have had a great experience here! The staff is very good with our cat and very thorough during his check ups! They are also very good about answering any questions and explaining everything well!

I have had Lafayette Animal Hospital take care of all my dogs and cats for at least 25 years. They have been extremely compassionate no matter what the problem has been. They would go out of their way to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction and they have shown true concern for my animals. Even when we have gone out of town with our pets they have made contact with vets we saw on vacation to help with any problems! I can not thank them or recommend them enough!!!

This place came highly recommended, but I saw a guest vet who had trouble distinguishing between my 15lb black and brown adult tabby and my 8lb Siamese kitten. I’d usually chalk it up to a busy day, but they didn’t seem to care much when I brought it up. Moved away so it doesn’t matter for me anymore, and I’m not saying to stay away, but just keep an eye out for missteps. Super nice people though.

first of all, the staff here is great. I met Dr. Arsenault and their staff, vet techs were nice. Dr didnt even acknowledge I was there but I am here for the dogs well being. Before this I was waiting in the lobby and I can hear the staff talk about up charging the price. Not sure if they knew the price or fee but I definitely heard what I heard in the back office. I let them see my dog, got the shots and took my dog elsewhere. I dont want to say this place is shady but ive had my ups and downs with this practice. Just wanted to get my dog check up and prioritizing my dogs well being. But i also have to prioritize my wallet so I am keeping my distance from this place. So should you. This place needs improvement.

I have been coming here for almost 2 years since I got my first puppy dog. Whenever I have any kind of problem, like getting the puppy to eat her monthly tablets, Lafayette Animal Hospital is always there to help me, the service is outstanding and everyone is always so nice.

Just transferred to this vet office recently. Our rescue had a skin condition that was treated for many months at our previous vet with no positive results. Lafayette completely changed his treatment and within 2 days we saw results. Very competent, professional, and just really nice folks here. Super glad to have made the switch (our pup is too!)

We started out loving this place, the staff is fantastic my dog would love going here and never had any problems...The issue is that the prices are very high compared to other places in the area. Just be careful and make sure you are aware of the prices going into appointments, including neutering. They were going to charge us almost double the rate of other hospitals for neutering and wouldn't match other hospital prices, even after asking for other hospital prices...Again I hate to leave Lafayette as the staff is incredible, but the pricing would need to change for me to return.

A pet owner needs to advocate for care the same way they do for themselves. It's important to trust the professionals you go to for guidance. I have never been steered wrong at Lafayette Animal Hospital and I have used their services for many years. I have always been able to decide on specific care as a result of a discussion - and I have always had my questions answered thoroughly.

We have had a wonderful relationship with Lafayette Animal Hospital since 2010. Three dogs and ten years later we continue to count on Dr Arsenault to keep our canine family happy and healthy. Love the staff and the flow of the office. Never have had a negative experience of any kind. ????❤️

Ive had my yellow lab and tiger cat here for 3 years now and i cant imagine anywhere else. They've helped us with every issue we've had, and a wonderful staff. All my pets will be going through this vet!
