Southern Pearl Veterinary Hospital Slidell, Louisiana

I have not had a positive experience with Southern Pearl. After receiving a recommendation to use them as a vet, I scheduled my dog's annual visit. I found them to be unhelpful, unfriendly, and insulting when asking for advice. Later that year, I needed some advice on whether an issue is normal and how to care for my dog. I called Southern Pearl to get advice and was told I need to bring in my dog. This made me very worried, concerned, and confused because she is not sick. I googled the issue and discovered it's very common and normal. This was a relief. I then had to call several family and friends for how to care for my dog with the issue. It angers me that Southern Pearl was either very unknowledgeable about common dog issues or just interested in stealing the money of a new dog mom still learning about things. On the other hand, I do like the fact that I am able to see my dogs records and when she is due for shots by logging in to their website. That is a convenient technology added into their website.

I took my dog here and had his ears looked at. I thought that they overcharged me when I was there and I spoke with him about it I really wasn't that happy when I left. I called back let them know that the treatment did not work. It did look like it was clearing up for about a week but it was just further down in the ear and I did update them the whole time I felt like they should have helped me out and gave me a discount on the next treatment but they refuse to do that.

If I could give this more stars I 110% would. I’ve been bringing my fur babies here for the last 2 years every experience is amazing. My younger baby recently got injured and needed surgery ASAP Dr. Beth got him in first thing on a Monday morning and took great care of him. Since his procedure Dr. Kara as well as the nurses have been amazing with his recovery check ups. Always super sweet, reliable, and if you’re in a tight spot they will do everything they can to help you out in order for your baby to get the treatment they need. I HIGHLY recommend southern pearl for your pets needs whether it be grooming, injury, check ups, etc. They are the best!!

Take all my animals here. In all honesty they make the rest of the clinics in st tammany look like jokes. These people know what there doing and very affordable and compassionate with people.

10/10 recommend. They are always so sweet. Dr. Dallas takes excellent care of my two boys and Dr. Kara is just as awesome and kind. I wouldn’t trust another vet with my babies. They always go way beyond my expectations in taking care of my dogs. I know I am always leaving them in great hands. My senior dog has been in many times this past year for many reasons, one being surgery. It went so smoothly! His staples were perfect and he is healing very nicely. Thanks to Dr. Dallas for being so diligent in his after care.

I brought my dog in there to have a procedure done. The procedure did not work. I called to let them know and that I was going to have to bring my dog somewhere else if they did not help and they did not call me back or anything. They charged me about $350. I had to bring my dog to gause boulevard veterinary to get everything straight. They took care of my little buddy

Excellent veterinary Care! Here's my experience with Southern Pearl. My little pup had gotten sick on Saturday and my regular veterinarian wasn't able to see her, as his schedule was full... I was in a panic. My pup had gotten kennel cough at the groomer, and she had an awful, sleepless night of coughing. I called Southern Pearl Veterinary Hospital, and I'm so incredibly glad that I did. After I explained the situation, the professional and caring staff were able to get us in (on a Saturday no less!) even though my dog had never been a patient there before. I am so grateful for the compassionate, kind, thorough and expedient care Dr Kara Eilts and Douglas gave my little pup. They were absolutely wonderful! The prices at Southern Pearl Veterinary Hospital are also better then most other veterinarians. I highly, highly recommend them. I especially want to thank Dr Kara and Douglas! You were great!

My husband's aunt recommended this vet. My Sasha has had kidney disease for quite a while and they've been such help. I took her in because she seems to be getting worse last week. The nurse reassured me that I'm a good mummy because my kitty is 19 years old and any cat not loved very much is unlikely to make it to that age. And the vet I saw (I wasn't able to see Dr Dallas like I usually do) teared up on telling me that Sasha is in the final stages of kidney failure. I can't begin to tell you what it means to have people who care so much. Southern pearl really is a pearl. They are wonderful and if your pet needs help, I highly suggest you bring them here. To southern pearl.. My girlie is doing relatively OK. Thank you so much. I will call should I need you.

Very kind people here. Prices seem to be less than competing offices. The techs are very sweet and comforting, especially Miranda. She's the best. You can tell she really cares about every animal.

Brought in my senior fur baby for a checkup. Staff was welcoming and friendly throughout the whole process. Dr. Abby and her tech were both professional, caring, and explained every step of the exam and testing. This was my second visit to Southern Pearl and I am beyond impressed with them. We are going to take all our kitties here in the future.

Dr. Kara and Dr Steigler are AMAZING!!! I've been going for years,,I could go on and on about how amazing and caring they are, but it would take forever!!! I'll just sum it up by saying,,,,, when I take my pitbull Stax there,,he DRAGS me in the door!!! How many dogs get so excited to go to the vet???!!!!!

This was my first time going there. Everyone was very nice. The staff was helpful and the doctor was great.

There are not enough complimentary words for this place. Every person who works there shows such kindness and compassion. You can tell it’s the culture of their whole business. I’m so happy I found Southern Pearl for my dog.

Tried to establish a new Vet after move from Florida. Was not told set up with a part time veterinarian. Handed records and emailed results of tests from FL vet and was told I would receive a call to set up an appt when tests were received. Called back after I was CC'D and was told they didn't have it. I fwd the records and told the vet would be in the next Wednesday. Still no call. When I called again it was like they were clueless and finally told the vet was part time. This clinic seems to not care enough for me to give them any more than a 1 star. ???? UPDATE: After recieving response to my rating I still rate a 1 even more so as communication from Southern Pearl is thru a rating post. Discussing my pet in this manner is unprofessional and shows lack of care. I have yet to receive a call from this clinic. As far as offering me an appt with another vet, that was only after I asked if they had anyone else that could see my pet. No matter I have found another vet who was able to care for my pet AND get the meds I almost ran out of bc no one checked or asked if my pets medical needs were met.

I can not thank the doctors and staff of Southern Pearl enough. My pomeranian Duchess was one foot in the grave when I brought her in for an emergency. They saved her when I don't think many vets would have even tried with as bad off as she was. I honestly thought I was going to have to put her down. The care and compassion they gave not only Duchess but me as well was superior. Highly recommended. ????❤????

Compassionate veterinarians and ckean facility.

The way they talk to you is appalling. They also over charge by $300.00. I will never go back... Ever! They are so damn rude... I had to walk away.... I would never send anyone to them.

There are no words to describe how wonderful this place and the people who work there are. They are so compassionate and so understanding. They have effectively earned my business forever! I was with a vet for almost 3 years and never once have I had the service like southern pearl. My baby had to have emergency surgery and they were absolutely AMAZING! They saved my baby's life and I'm ever so grateful to them!!

Dr. Kara and her staff showed my family so much dignity during the difficult decision to say goodbye to one of our furry children. Words can’t describe how grateful I am to have found them when we moved to Slidell. Their compassion is unmatched.

So thankful they were able to see my dog that was in pain so quickly because my other vet's office was closed! Great staff amazing service! Definitely will be back and highly recommend!
