I knew the decision to put our 16 year old fur baby down was coming and inevitable. I’m actually thankful it happened on a Sunday when our regular vet was closed and found ourselves here. It was absolutely one of the hardest and heart wrenching things I have ever had to go through. BUT it went exactly the way I hoped it would. They were caring, supportive, patient and very attentive to making him as comfortable as possible. He died in my arms after our “ice cream party” compliments of the staff. My head was spinning so I can’t remember the vet’s name but she and all the staff were wonderful!

My dog was dying on Black Friday and her usual vet wasn’t opened due to the holiday. We brought her here where she ultimately died. The staff was extremely kind and sympathetic for our loss. Definitely recommend this place and I’ll forever be thankful that they made a difficult day a little easier

The only thing that was good here were how nice the nurses Amber and Connor were to us when we brought our family dog of 16 years here at midnight on a weekend. We ended up having to put him down. Dr. Gosik was the doctor working our case and treated us extremely terrible, she took a situation that was already hard enough as it is and made it way harder. Not only did she yell at me and a family member for trying to explain start to finish what was happening with our little pup but she has absolutely no bedside manner and does NOT care how people are feeling in the situation 0 compassion from this woman. She is the absolute worst vet I have ever experienced and this was not the first time I have had to deal with this monster they call a doctor. This place may have been great if Gosik wasn’t working our case. You can’t ask someone what’s happening with their dog and then yell at them and say that our answer is not the right answer to what she was asking. Not once did she let us explain start to finish what had been happening with our dog. And we did not let our dog suffer we previously brought him to our normal vet and were told if he didn’t get better in a few days to bring him back but it all happened so fast when his condition worsened and became an emergency late at night.

Dr. Gordon is such a wonderful veterinarian. She cares so much for her patients. She is knowledgeable, dedicated and really cares enough to answer all of your questions so that your pet is well taken care of at home too. Vet techs are very good and helpful too. And on the front desk Beth is so helpful. Great vet and good value for excellent care.

I am responding to the response from the owner. I understand your point. However, Dr. Gosik could have conveyed this information to me in a much more delicate manner. The very first time I talked to her, she had an attitude. I was taken back by this because I have never met this woman. She was extremely rude from the beginning and had absolutely no patience or compassion for the situation. I actually had serious thoughts of taking my dog elsewhere but her condition was too serious. My daughter and I were completely horrified that we were being treated in this manner and that we had to let this rude woman euthanize our dog. It made a horrible situation so much more painful. Also, the girl that answered the phone was extremely rude as well. I suggest you have your employees attend a customer service seminar so someone can teach them how to deal with people more compassionately. I am still in shock about the way we were treated at your clinic and I hope you address this in the proper fashion. My 15 year old Dachshund had a stroke several weeks ago and has not been the same since then. She has progressively gotten worse, and last night, her breathing became very labored. My daughter and I took her to Cypress Lake so as to get an opinion as to how we should proceed. This was my first time to Cypress Lake.. The vet there last night, Dr. T. Gosik, was the rudest, uncompassionate human being I have ever encountered. My dog was very sick and we needed a professional opinion as to whether or not we should put her down. She wanted to do blood work and x-rays to the tune of $600 and I didn't think that was necessary due to my dog's condition. In reading other reviews, I see where the doctors at Cypress Lake have recommended euthanization, so I am still at a loss as to why Dr. Gosik would not give me her professional opinion as to whether we should put my dog down. I have never encountered a doctor this rude and uncaring, and it made this very difficult process much more painful.

I went to Cypress Lake for the 1st time on Sunday 9/12/21 due to an emergency. I had to endure a 2-hour debacle of unprofessional, incompetent site staff in addition to grieving the loss of our beloved golden. The length of this visit was a minor issue. The major issues were lack of communication, several procedural errors and mishaps along with the variety of distasteful comments made by entire staff. If you truly love your pet, take them somewhere else.

I recently moved to the area and was needing a new vet for our pet. On August 27th around 11pm we needed to take our pet to a doctor cause she was experiencing pain. The vet suggested to keep her over so we said ok. 16 hours later on the 28th the vet calls and says we don’t know what is wrong with your dog only that she is in extreme pain, all we can do is send her home with antibiotics and see how she reacts. We agreed and came paid $900 and got our puppy. Hurricane Ida the following day so understandably everything is closed and we have no electricity or means to go anywhere cause of no gas. It is now Wednesday September 2nd and my puppy is still in a lot of pain the vet said that I had to bring her in for another consult and I asked if I had to pay for it since this is a follow up and they said yes I have to pay then I reminded them that this is the same issue that I brought her in for and also that the hurricane hit and we didn’t have a way of getting there she then responded with it isn’t their fault that the hurricane hit. So with all this being said if you’re willing to spend the money this a great place but for me I feel like all they want is your money and as for me I’ll be taking my pet to a place that cares about the care of animals rather than be about the money.

I couldn’t begin put into words how amazing cypress lake is. I brought my puppy Ollie to them as he had came down sick from parvo a few days after I had adopted him. Ollie had stayed in cypress lake’s care for four days, where they had given him nothing but the most attentive and sincere care possible. They never got tired of me even though I would call 4 times a day to check up on him. Unfortunately, Ollie ended up passing today comforted by the cypress lake staff due to a blood clot that was a complication from parvovirus. Even though it was not the outcome I prayed for, the staff did everything they possibly could and went above and beyond to try to save my boy. I’m very grateful and will continue to bring my business to cypress lake

I live in the neighborhood behind this vet. they are constantly having the furnace on and it emits quite awful smells. could only imagine what it could be from. Please find a better time to cremate your animals. i’m sick of going outside to relax or barbecue and being bombarded with burnt fur smell. Have some respect for the neighborhoods around you. Thanks.

I give this place 5 stars because as soon as I walked in the door, they noticed and answered all my questions. The last veterinarian clinic is a joke. I'll write a review on them after I am done with this one. This clinic will call a day before the appointment, send emails and keep you updated on shots! They've got my attention and will be bringing all my furry kids here from now on! Lady at front desk? Amazingly nice! Thank you!

This hospital was a lifesaver we live an hour and 20 minutes away from the hospital and our dog was at the point of death I truly believe if we would have waited another 24 hours pongo would have been dead they took him in and nourished him back to health he still has to little way to go but we were so happy to see the life restored back to him the nurses and the doctors were excellent and we are so so grateful I would recommend this hospital to anyone that has an animal we call three times a day and they never was rude to us at all they were very gentle and kind each time we call

In response to the owner reply to the review: Your explanation of the series of event does not explain away the fact that our dog was triaged very low on the criticality list. The way we were offered to either wait or try to find another vet on Friday afternoon, because the dr was busy with actual critical patients led us to believe our dog was fine, especially when we saw other dogs come and get treated for things we would consider non critical(1 dog got a tapeworm diagnosis and treatment options while we were waiting.) If a staff member had told us our dog was in critical condition and needed to be seen immediately we would have taken other actions, which the doctor absolutely did not say. I asked him directly if he thought our dog was critical and needed to be seen, he did not say Yes, but more "you can try to drive to LSU or BTR if you think your dog needs to be seen today, he even made us believe it would be fine to wait, even until Monday where we could see our normal vet. so A) he never saw our dog B) our dog was never even triaged C)the triage staff is incapable of their job When she got triaged by a competent establishment we was immediately taken into care. The fact that you are trying to explain the incident away makes me wish i could rate lower than 1 star. ======================= Original Review below ======================= Too long didn’t read at the bottom: We called the vet at 8 am on Friday morning, because our normal vet doesn’t work Friday-Sunday. We told the receptionist that our dog was excessively drinking and then immediately regurgitating. She had started the night before with the drinking but was eating at night just fine. We told them that she had gotten into our son’s candy stash and eaten 2 BIG bags of gummies. (which to the entire staff just seemed like a funny anecdote) We were told we could see the DR. at noon, so we scheduled the appointment and drove up there for 12. We were greeted outside by someone who took our statement again and took our dog inside for triage/treatment. and again the gummies were just a funny story, and did not raise any red flags. Then we waited, and waited. About an hour later we were told that the DR was a little behind and would be able to see the dog in a “while”. Another hour went by and the DR came and talked to us, told us it would be “several hours” before he could start any treatment of our dog because he had more critical patients coming in (which could be totally true). We took that as our dog was not in super critical condition and asked if it would be safe to maybe even wait to see our normal vet on Monday, or if we should go to LSU or BR for her to get seen, he basically told us it was up to us to make that decision, but he would not be able to treat her based on his assessment on her criticality vs his other patients he currently had. We decided we wanted our dog seen faster and called our normal vet and asked what to do, they suggested we brought her to the clinic in BR, so we called them with the same description of the problem and was told to immediately bring the dog to them for diagnosis. Within 5 minutes she was diagnosed with extreme dehydration and put on IV fluids. They ran some blood work and found her glucose to be over 500 and started Insulin treatments. Now after being at the clinic from Friday 3pm to Thursday we had to put our dog down because of the damage done to her internal systems. We are left wondering if we would have not brought our dog to this place and instead went to the BR clinic 7 hours earlier when we initially called, we might have still had our dog? (TL: DR) I guess Long story short, don’t bring your loved pets here if you would like them to be seen and diagnosed or even triaged proficiently in a timely manner, and don’t think that even if you have an appointment, that your appointment will be honored.

Cypress Lake, and specifically Kristin and Ashley are the reason my Walter is a happy and healthy 5 year old Great Dane, they are not your everyday vet clinic. They are the clinic you go to when everyone else has given up. They think outside the box and will go the extra mile. I know for a fact that without their insight and forward thinking Walt would not be here drooling on my pillow as I write. They give top notch care and will always have my trust. This a clinic you can trust you beloved pets to.

THESE babies would not be here without the expertise of Dr. Kristen Kulinski, Dr. Allison Gordon, tech Ashley Cochran and ALL the rest of the fantastic staff at Cypress Lake Animal and Emergency Hospital!!! It's never ending how they SAVE my babies...most recently my 11 year old with an emergency splenectomy & aspiration pneumonia and now working on idiopathic head tremors in my 4.5 year old boy! It's never ending at the Ladner house and Cypress is our FAMILY!

They are so sweet. We had a bad customer service experience at another vet when we first moved to Baton Rouge 2 years ago. We recently moved to Prairieville, and changed vets. The customer service is great, everyone is super friendly, and they follow up. Super sweet people.

When our dogs died suddenly on a Saturday Night, we called several places trying to find cremation services. Cypress Lake was the only place that didn't treat us like an inconvenience to be dealt with on a Sunday. They were kind, compassionate, and understanding. They handled our babies with respect and were the epitome of caring professionalism. I cannot recommend them highly enough and have even decided to switch vets so that we can continue to get the level of care and compassion they provide. Skip the trauma of calling around and just call these guys. They'll take care of you and your pet as if it were their own.
