They lost the xrays taken of my pets abdominan and had no idea he was terminally ill! I took him in for a cough and they recommended heart xrays just to confirm it was nothing serious. When they never called to follow up I assumed he was fine; however, I called six months later to request radiologist notes. Thats when they came across random 7lb tumor Xrays that belonged to my dog. They said my dog may have a tumor if these were his xrays and he would need same day surgery if they were indeed his. They needed have "confirmation xrays" done that day (at full price) to confirm he did or did not have a 7lb tumor in his abdomin. Had I not called to check back they would have never provided the X-ray information that I paid for up-front. I absolutely did not pay for the second confirmation X-rays and had to get ugly as they insisted repeatedly even though they dropped the ball big time! Do not go here unless your broke and need shots or heartworm medicine. ANYthing else is above their pay grade and and below there efforts.

I have finally had with this company charging my card without authorization. They are not communicative and then charge you without your permission. They told me to "drop my dog off in the morning if I wanted her to be seen by the vet" and that you would "get her to the vet when they had time." This is after they left me on hold for 10 minutes after telling them my dog had her first seizure and I thought she was dying. They didn't make me an appointment or tell me a time. I have never missed an appointment, hence why I didn't know their policy was to charge you if you don't choose to come in with no appointment because your dog has been seen by a vet that actually cares. You cannot charge people without telling them the policy. Plain and simple. They have done this to me SEVERAL times. I have gotten nothing but discourteousness and disrespect from these people who have no regard for the people that are their customers. They are only in it for the money. Beware.

Both of my kittens found me here, (not adopted together) but both rescues, and it could't have been more wonderful of an experience. I would't consider anyone else!!!!! Nails De Lune on the left, Skittles on the right. Skittles just turned four last week! The first video is NOT FAKE, it's just black for some reason...i give you my word you can press go safely...it's hysterical. It's skittles flying through he air WHILE fetching and most importantly, retrieving an "object" lololol..she came to me trained that way, what can I say; there are some very special animals and staff and owners over there at Southern Animal Foundation.

I have been bringing my dog Mardi to SAF for about a year. Dr. LaMarsh has provided excellent and caring treatment to my senior boy. Everyone that I have met there has been very nice, and because of these good experiences, my other pup Jakamo is also now a client.

Made the switch to SAF years ago, when I got tired of paying for my then-vet’s new bldg. I have not regretted it once. SAF veterinarians have been nothing short of well-informed, professional, and gentle with my dog. PLUS, and this is a big, barking plus, SAF costs about half of what I was paying previously for his annual shots/checkup. Sick visits are also less expensive. I don’t play around with my boy’s care, and SAF has always taken great care of him.

I really like the vets here, my cats have always gotten great care, and they make cost part of the care conversation so I never get surprise bills. I think their prices are pretty reasonable anyway. My only complaint is that they stopped having a separate waiting room for cats and dogs, which I really appreciated because there's no need to frighten or stress out an already unwell cat.

They have helped me so much with my rescue, who had heart worms. They listened to my cost concerns, and they have taken such wonderful care of Lily. We are both very grateful.

Dr. Whatley unfortunately is no longer working at SAF, but my time with her was truly great. Her bedside manner is the best I've experienced from any vet. She expresses true care for your pets.

These folks are terrific; SAF offers personal and professional services and medication for your animals at reasonable prices. both of my cats and my dog actually enjoy being there it is unreal how friendly and educated the staff is. I couldnt recommend a better vet. clinic in NOLA.

I just called with a question about fleas and Brian really went in depth about everything I needed to know and pointed me in the right direction. You can tell these folks clearly care about animals and are top notch when it comes to treating them. They will certainly be seeing me and my cat shoko soon for a check up.

Had a frustrating experience with Dr. Lamarsh, took my 12 year old chihuahua in, he’s had a worsening heart murmur for a few years, and his elder sister passed away from CHF in March 2020. I took him in for his annual check, got blood work, vaccines, flea meds etc $270 bill. Dr. Lamarsh recommended $100 X-ray and a $500 echo. The soonest they could get the X-ray done was august 6th, and the radiology tech wouldn’t be able to read it for another 4 weeks. I explained the history I had with my dogs sibling’s heart issues, and that he is now presenting with the same symptoms, increased resp rate, worsening cough. Dr. Lamarsh not only minimized my concerns but he told me has bronchitis. And would not prescribe cardiac meds without xrays. Which fine whatever but if it takes 6 weeks to process.... then what the heck. So end of story is I took my dog to a different vet that could do xrays the same day and have them read the same day and guess what... he does not have bronchitis! The left side of his heart is enlarged and was prescribed vetmedin and an ace inhibitor within 16 hours of contacting their office. I would not recommend this vet to anyone, Dr. Lamarsh was extremely disappointing.
