So grateful to have found Dr. B who was able to stop our black lab from scratching and constantly licking her paws. After having our dog for over a year, we had tried everything to eliminate our dog’s constant itching and licking. We went to multiple vets and tried everything we could online, but weren’t able to find something that worked. We heard about Dr. B from another person who we met downtown who saw our dog licking her paws and had a similar issue that she had resolved for them. We set up an appointment since we had tried just about everything else. Dr. B put together a plan. She diagnosed a yeast infection instantly, put her on an elimination diet that was easy to follow, and gave her allergy medication to stop the itching and we saw results instantly. When our dog was allergic to one of the medication she video chatted on her day off and made sure she was okay and modified the medication. Now months later we’ve moved to another state but we miss the vet team here! Our dog is doing so super awesome with the plan they put together and isn’t licking or scratching at all. I just can’t believe that she would ever have hair on her feet again so here is a photo with proof. She is one happy puppy! We could not be more thankful to the team here! THANK YOU 100x over

I have two large, somewhat nervous dogs. The staff and doctors here are always incredibly friendly and patient. They go as slow as they can so my dogs are comfortable, and my dogs are actually excited to go to the vet now. I’ve never had to wait long for an appointment, and their new facilities are amazing. Dr. B was referred to me by my former vet in Cincinnati and I’m so glad that she was and that I was able to find Prytania Vets!

Grateful to have found this place for my two cats. One cat just needed a regular annual check up and vaccine update, but my older cat was having GI problems. They have always been able to get me in the next day which is a relief after having dealt with the headache of making appointments for my own healthcare. The vet techs are so sweet and friendly. I have been mostly working with Dr. Matt and he has been amazing checking in on my kitty with follow up phone calls and talking me through the plan of care.

Knocked my socks off. Though hard to find, the place was large and clean, brand new. Lots of parking, lots. We have been going to them for a long time. Wish they had moved years ago.

**Update to respond to Dr. Taylor's reply below: Dr. Taylor, check your facts. MedVet WAS able to perform the simple blood draws without any sedation, just like the numerous vet offices in the last 12 years we've been too. Y'all the only ones. ** Day one of being seen at Prytania Vet, I was turned away and told my dog needed to be sedated due to his anxiety and because y’all did not want to leave him traumatized on his first visit. He is 12 years old, been seen by dozens of vets in 4 different states, from mobile pet clinics to traditional offices to emergency rooms. Never once had a vet with an issue doing blood draws or any other procedure and not one that ever suggested sedation. After that first day of sedation, he was so drugged up he could barely walk. For a simple checkup, that seemed excessive. Especially for a dog with no history of aggression and no prior vet issues. I understand the need for sedation for bigger procedures such as the ultrasound, but being told that it should be done before every visit seems wrong. I called MedVet to get some perspective and they too agreed a Trazidone before every vet visit is indeed excessive. I would ask you to consider why are you pushing this medication? Day one when Jack was turned away for a checkup so he could come back sedated, I was sent home with a Trazidone pharmaceutical “goody bag”, so I have to wonder if it has to do with Prytania’s relationship with the pharma company? Furthermore, after Jack’s recent ultrasound with you Dr. Taylor, you came back and talked to me like a colleague, with veterinary vocab that had me racing to remember every word so I could understand it later. Please remember that the majority of your clients did not attend vet school, so taking your time with explanations will leave us less confused. I am happy to say that my doctor at MedVet broke every little thing down, patiently waited for and answered questions, and sent me home with a detailed sheet of everything we went over. Why didn’t I ask questions when you zipped through your ultrasound findings? I guess I was preoccupied with what your final say was, which was “head to MedVet for another ultrasound “. If you recall, I called back very concerned to learn it would be nearly $700 and only then did you do me the service to break down what exactly would be different. To my understanding, you said you simply did not understand the ultrasound findings and wanted a more experienced specialist’s eye. You are absolutely right that there are communication issues here. A more experienced vet might see that Jack is having a Cushing’s disease test, they might have communicated with the other vets treating him, and they might understand that this pet does not likely have so long to live. They might better understand what emotional hardship the client is facing. Of course I do not feel comfortable with young vets pushing meds before even seeing a pet (like I said, was done here at Prytania on day one) so parting ways is the path I would also choose. But please, rethink everything from my shoes, as you ought to with every client, and try to understand exactly what I experienced and am experiencing. From your voicemail dismissing me, I do not expect you to take this review seriously, maybe rather as the ramblings of an upset customer, but I wish you would. We live in a country where healthcare is a business, where drugs are pushed, and where the care of the patient is rarely prioritized over money. I would have hoped this organization understood that but it is very clear to me that you are part of the problem. Not just another angry customer, Your neighbor, Elizabeth St. John

I love this veterinary hospital. They are super professional, great with people as well as with animals. Their boarding services are excellent, and their veterinarians always follow up with us by phone to find out how our pet is doing on this or that new medication. I board my cat here and he actually seems to love going. Never has a problem transitioning to or from. Just really great, knowledgeable, caring staff all around.

Everyone at Prytania Vet Clinic is terrific! Dr Taylor and Nick (the vet tech) took caring, gentle and efficient care of my kitty during his senior wellness visit; they took time to answer questions & address any concerns, and the folks at the front desk were great too! I love taking my kitties to this place!

Staff is professional, welcoming, goes above and beyond for you and your pets needs. Having had a pet(s) my entire 35 yrs, no other veterinary care team has even compared. From my last dog with cancer whose life was prolonged an extra month because Dr Ghere brought her back to life through CPR to my 6 month old new dog who has just had big surgery and she loves going to see the team over there. A million stars

Prytania Vet helped me euthanize my nearly 20 year old dog. All of the staff were extremely helpful and several brought him treats before the procedure. The sympathy shown by everyone was remarkable. The staff at Prytania Ver truly cares about your pet. Unbelievably, I also received a handwritten note of sympathy for the loss of my dog. Truly above and beyond all my expectations, and I highly recommend Prytania Vet.
