So very impressed with this vet clinic. We were traveling toward Baton Rouge from our home in NC when our dog had a distressing medical issue. We called our prior vet in BR, but they were unable to see him and recommended Animal Health Clinic. We called and they were so easy to work with and agreed to see our dog even though he was not a current pt. The vet, Dr. McClendon, was able to quickly diagnose the problem without expensive testing, reassure us regarding our dogs condition and prescribe treatment which is working perfectly. No wait, reasonable fees. Couldn’t be more satisfied.

The staff was nice, but I they made me waste money on an unnecessary microchip on my dog for a travel certificate, when at the airport they didn't ask me for any of it and they told me it wasn't a requirement for my dog to be microchipped to travel.

Incomparable! My Kitty had an Accident inside her Carrier and they were Quick to clean it for me while my cat was treated! I was So embarrassed at the situation. It was my first Visit and they made me feel at home. My new kitty is being Treated as we speak. Dietary issue they have worked around the clock to take pristine care of his needs and Five Star Treatment. Due to High Tempo Military work they have been exceptional to Treat and care for my Furr Babies Needs. Trust No One else for Quality and Expectations Always Exceeded! I called Incessantly to Check on my kitties Care and I was a little self Conscious for asking so many questions and requiring feedback on Treatments and they Never Once made me feel that I was Wasting their time. And I Talk.. ALOT!!! LOL anyway. This Vet Clinic is Highest Ratings and they Deserve it! Lovely!

Dr. Leonard is the best vet we’ve been too. He takes his time with our pet and answers all our questions.. in ways that helps us better understand what is best for our pet. When our pup was sick, he took time out of his day to personally call us and answer any question we had. He never seems to be in a rush, which we really appreciate. The office workers are also very sweet!! I would recommend Dr. Leonard to all my friends !

Slightly inconvenient location, slightly higher price point, but excellent customer service and outstanding care for patients make up the difference. AHC has been serving my family for decades and we've never felt the inclination to look for service elsewhere.

Dr. Lemoine is amazing!!! He explained what was going on with my dog thoroughly and thoughtfully. He gave me all options regarding time and cost. I will be going back for all of my pet’s needs!!!

My fiancé and I just moved to Baton Rouge and our puppy got sick. We needed a vet immediately and they were WONDERFUL with our precious puppy! There is nowhere else we would want to take our Bear in BTR!

They are a good vet and have always taken care of my dog. When i moved to baton rouge from Madisonville I wanted a vet with the same level of certification, and this is one of the few locations in baton rouge that has it.

Moved to BR with 2 cats. One was diabetic and we had consistent problems getting his weight and fluids maintained. We worked with both Drs Hackett and Leonards who took time to not only help our cat but to educate us on keeping our cats healthy. Would definitely recommend!

The techs and vets at Animal Health Clinic have been phenomenal from the very first appointment. I had just decided to keep a dog that had been left with me, and she hadn’t been to the vet in years. Through every treatment and major decision they have explained everything, answered my questions, and given me OPTIONS. They are kind and handle my dog with care and love. They are always ready and willing to help and never make me feel like I’m an inconvenience. There are probably some cheaper alternatives but I intend to stay with them for their service. Not to mention they are right across from Petz Plaza for when your furbaby needs grooming!

I’ve taken my cats to Cat Haven since the year it opened. I’ve always been pleased with the care and the sensitivity. When I’ve had pets die, the staff has been compassionate and caring. Cat Haven is the best.

Everyone on staff is super kind and welcoming, they are very professional and care deeply for every animal in their care. Whenever I am asked for a vet recommendation, they are the first to come to mind!

Dr. Hackett and Dr. Leonards are wonderful. They always provide the absolute best care for our numerous pets. They always take their time when one of our dogs is fearful and always address our concerns. The rest of the staff is always helpful and accommodating. We spend so much time there, it feels like our second home!

I do not recommend at all. Extremely disappointed in this clinic. I switched my dog over here because of the seemingly good reviews and “AAHA” accredited title. We saw Dr. Leonards for his annual visit a couple weeks ago, and overall I was pleased. However, my dog started having some troubles last week and I brought him into a walk-in clinic later in the evening. The next morning I called Animal Health Clinic as soon as they opened. I explained the situation and informed the front-desk girl that he had been prescribed some medicine from the other clinic. I wanted a second opinion and to follow up with Dr. Leonards—as my dog was scheduled to have a yearly dental procedure soon. She confirmed Dr. Leonards would call back as soon as I emailed the invoice over from the other clinic and we would get to the bottom of everything. Well, I waited 5 days for a call back and never got one. I even called again to ask what the delay was. The girl swore she would leave another message on Dr. Leonards desk phone and he would call me back ASAP. Three more days passed. No call. I was so disappointed and frustrated I called back this morning to inform them to cancel and disregard everything I had scheduled with the clinic. If I cannot trust them to return a phone call to an established patient in a timely manner, why would I trust them to do anything else (such as perform a procedure that requires anesthesia on my pet or leave him boarded there). It did not give me a good feeling at all. We were put on a back burner and pushed aside. They brag about this so called “accreditation” yet cannot even remember to call clients back and act like they care about your pet. Will never give them my time or business again. I have never been so undervalued as a client/pet parent anywhere, nor have I had to wait 5-7 business days for a call back from a veterinarian.

We have been coming here for many years, and have seen Dr. Hackett, Dr. Mitchell, and Dr. Leonards - we have received warm, caring, and exceptional care for all of our dogs. They are currently doing curbside service, they come and get your dogs from the car and the vet calls you to discuss your pet. Highly recommend!

We called about our pug having fleas. A.H.C. was able to fit him in the same day. The technicians came to the car to pick him up. Normally he would bark at strangers, but he was actually excited to go with the ladies. Dr. Leonards called to go through the steps that were needed to free our dog from fleas. He was VERY polite and allowed me to express my concerns.

Nice and friendly staff. I felt the vet was honest with the treatment my pup needed and didn't try to "force" unnecessary treatments.

The ability to assist my dog on short notice with required shots to be groomed since my vet appointment was the following month

I was driving through Baton Rouge on a road trip from CA with my dog. Stuck in traffic, I realized the fishy smell was not coming from outside but from my dogs butt! I quickly looked on yelp for a nearby animal clinic. I was so glad the first clinic I called took walk ins for internal anal gland expressions (you don’t get this at vet clinics in Silicon Valley)! We walked in and were immediately greeted by the smiling staff who promptly took her back. They were so sweet and caring with my dog! Anal gland expression isn’t fun for any dog, especially when they have to do it as often as my dog. The technicians gave me some suggestions for when I reached my destination which I gladly took. Shout out to Janae who answered the phone and was extra attentive with me as my dog was in the back. I definitely recommend this clinic. If I lived in the area I would have no hesitation to bring my dog back!
