Hickman Creek Kennel Nicholasville, Kentucky

In July of this year we took a trip to Gulf Shores so we had to board our year old Doberman. I was really nervous about leaving him because he hadn’t been around any other dogs or people. When I was looking for a place I came across Hickman Creek Kennel. I was so pleased with how well my Ranger Baby was treated. I got pictures of him through out the week playing an you could see he was having a blast. I was able to enjoy our vacation because I had no doubt in my mind he was being well taken care of. I highly recommend Hickman Creek Kennels.

I just picked up my dog here after a two-day stay. He was filthy. Caked in mud. Like, I didn't want to let him in my 15-year-old vehicle because he was so dirty. I had to take him right in the house and put him in the bathtub when I got home. He was not the same dog I dropped off two days ago. His personality is different, he seems afraid, he is shedding profusely, something happened here to my dog. I called Hickman Creek to try to resolve the issue over the phone, to get some answers, and I was dismissed with "I guess he played outside, I apologize." After taking the dog home and giving him a bath, and watching him behave at home, I came back up to the kennel to try to talk to the owner in person, and get some answers as to what really happened to my dog. I got the same dismissive attitude. He said, and I quote, "We didn't do anything wrong, so thank you." I'm not sure what really happened, but I sure won't make this mistake again. I sure do wish that I had gotten the video observation package that I had paid for, so that I could have seen what was going on with my dog. If you decide to ignore my experience, and take your dog here anyway, make sure you're watching on video. Don't let what happened to my dog happen to yours.

Wonderful kennel! Christopher took care of our dogs while we were on vacation. He was great!

Was able to watch my dog and she was well taken care of. I requested personal play time and I don't think she got it , but they did not charge me for it so it may have been a miscommunication on my end. Also sent the dog with more food than necessary for the time she spent there and received none of it back. That's not too big of a deal and I'm sure my dog was happy with the extras she got. Overall good experience.

Our dog got into something nasty in our backyard. They were able to get her in and took great care of her. She looks and feels much better!

Hickman Creek Kennel is a great place to leave your pet! They are not only affordable, but they also go above and beyond. Our Husky had an accident on his bed and they not only gave him another bed to use while staying, but went through the trouble of washing our bed as well. We are very appreciative of the care they show our dog while we are away!

We have boarded our dog, Ollie, at HCK the last several times we have gone out of town. I am very impressed with them. He has some special medical needs, and they always take excellent care of him. I would absolutely recommend using them for your boarding needs. They are very nice people and clearly care a lot about animals. Give them a shot - you won't be let down.

Hickman Creek Kennel has a professional, caring, loving staff. The kennel is always clean well-maintained, and safe for dogs and cats. And they even offer dog training and On board training for extremely reasonable prices. PLUS the nature walks are absolutely beautiful, and the dogs LOVE IT!

Check in process bad, poor communication. However must admit I probably experienced the most trauma. I believe they take too many dogs. Everyone was pleasant. They did fwd pictures which helped.

We boarded our dog moose for the first time this week and couldn’t be happier with the service we received. Everyone who works there was very friendly and accommodating. My fur baby was super happy when we picked him up. They even washed his security blankets. We already have plans to board him again. I would highly recommend them!

We've been coming to Hickman Creek for a few years now. The staff is always nice and our sweet Zoe is well taken care of

My doodle Reggie loves the Hickman Creek Kennel. We have boarded him there many times and are very satisfied that he is well cared for. Thanks for all you do for Reggie and his velcro nature. Will be back soon.

Out little Josie is always well cared for at Hickman Creek Kennel. We are grateful for such an incredible place to board our sweet Josie when we travel.

The staff took very good care of my Rottweiler(Harley). Very clean. And the staff is very friendly.

Our beloved Bichon, Bojangles enjoyed many visits to Hickman Creek Kennel for over a decade. We were always confident he had the best of care. Once when he had an attack of bladder stones, Lisa took him the his own Vet. Did he stay spotless and white? No. He was like any kid that went to camp. He ripped and ran with the little dogs and had a fine time doing it. He always came home tired and in need of a bath. Sometimes, he had a bath there, at the end of his stay. Thank goodness he wasn't kept in a cage. I guess that is why as an indoor dog, he loved his romp in the country. Now our grand dog Dani visits there, when her Dad has to travel out of town. Thank you for many years of good care!

I just picked up my 2 dogs from this kennel after they have had a 10 night stay. The prices on the website are different than what they had charged. I paid $100 more than I expected. Very aggravating. Their food container was covered in dog …

When I picked up my dogs, they were happy, clean and well cared for. Usually they get stressed out when they stay at a kennel and this did not happen at Hickman Creek. I drive an hour out of my way to bring them here because it is such a good experience for them.

So we dropped off our Zeke on Friday and his pick up day was today (Tuesday). We paid for a bath, nail trim, and brush out as well for him while he was there. I get there today at 9:30 to pick him up and take him to his vet appointment …

Such a fantastic place with great staff! Our sanctuary dog always has such a great time at Hickman Creek Kennel. The staff loves your animals as if they were their own.

Our dog always looks forward to being dropped off at HCK whether for a day or a longer stay - very pleased with the service they provide and the peace of mind knowing our pup is well taken care of!

As a former manager of a large privately-owned full-service ABKA pet care center (boarding, grooming, etc.), I am a very discriminating client in this respect. When I was left with no choice but to board my 2 dogs, I almost cancelled my plans because of my knowledge of the current norms of the boarding industry. Just for starters, I've learned that extra services and "fun stuff' for the animals was over-priced (we were the first in KY to offer these options) and often didn't actually occur as described or promised. I saw firsthand that this wasn't the case at Hickman Creek. I loved the "group" exercise yard, and the way it was all organized. All the dogs seemed relaxed and happy. After visiting Hickman Creek Kennel and speaking at length with owner Lisa Scott (sorry for the time I took, Lisa!) and taking a tour, any remaining trepidation melted away. I felt good about what I saw and heard. I have an angel and I also have a hellion who barks incessantly. When I picked them up they were still clean, happy, and fit. Kudos, Hickman Creek - I'm a tough customer in this department, and you won my confidence.

Though we now live in another city we always felt comfortable leaving our sweet dog at Hickman Creek Kennel. We knew she was cared for & exercised by the kind animal lovers at Hickman Creek Kennel. When we returned to pick her up she was in good shape physically and emotionally. At check-in, staff listened to our requests & made note of them & of her needs.

HICKMAN CREEK IS A WONDERFUL PLACE AND STAFF TREATS OUR DOGS VERY WELL. ITS SUCH A SWEET AND HAPPY ENVIRONMENT AND THE OUTDOOR GROUNDS ARE A REAL BONUS.

Perfect setting, very clean facility. Friendly staff. Would not even consider going to any other kennel.
