Literally the best animal hospital on the planet. They have helped our pets in sickness and health and have even help us morn a loss. They are amazing!!! God bless HVAH!!

Dr. Hurst and the HVAH staff are the best! I’ve taken my goldendoodle here for years and when I got a golden retriever puppy recently we took him here right off the bat. Unfortunately he had a few health hiccups but Dr. Hurst was there for us the whole time/answering all of my questions and always following up. It’s difficult in Nashville finding a vet that you love, can work with your schedule & always takes the time to follow up so if you’ve been looking then I can’t recommend Harpeth Valley enough!

I had to visit HVAH to purchase something that was not in stock at my normal vet. The staff were helpful, kind and easy to work with. If I didn't have an almost 30 year excellent relationship with my existing vet, I would strongly consider moving to this practice.

Love this place. Dr. Hurst and staff are all caring people and love animals. They saved my cat from the brink of death. They work very hard to keep furry friends happy and healthy. I highly recommend them.

Our fur baby hurt front paw this morning and couldn’t bear weight. Our usual vet couldn’t see nor work in. I was very upset and got an appointment on my first call here. Dr Hurst and staff were awesome . We now have a new vet!!! Thank you so much Now for the fractured toe repair!

We have taken our dogs to this animal hospital since it first opened long ago. The current vets, Dr. Hurst and Dr Wall could not be nicer or more competent. They have great bedside manner with the pets and their people too! Recently we had the incredibly difficult decision to have our 16 year old wire - haired dachshund put to sleep due to congestive heart failure. I had never been through this terrible experience before and was extremely distraught. DR. Hurst and the staff could not have been nicer to us.Dr. Hurst even came to my car, where I had retreated so I did not have to see the end of the procedure. He came to my car just to give me a hug and soothing words of condolence. I will never forget that. We also received a card the next week signed by all, of the staff. I would not hesitate to bring my animals to be cared for by these exceptionally kind people. This was my review many years ago. Currently Dr Amy Smith is the vet with dr Hurst. They continue to give excellent care to our dogs. We love them. We continue to receive only the best of service from then for our multi-dog household.

We took our diabetic cat to Valuvet for chin acne and she was given a steroid shot. She then started to refuse to eat and to have multiple problems and did some research... a diabetic cat should not be given a steroid shot! We then took out cat to Harpeth Valley Animal Hospital. Dr. Smith, Dr. Hurst, and the entire office staff were wonderful during the 2 week struggle to get her well again. We should have gone to Harpeth Valley Animal Hospital FIRST!!!!!!!!

Our two wonderful dogs are very happy patients of Harpeth Valley Animal Hospital. We have been going here for several years and very highly recommend the doctors and staff here. Everyone is professional, knowledgable and friendly. They treat our pups like family and are highly qualified vets. What stands out most about Harpeth Valley is how much they truly care about the animals and their families. My parents also took their aging Cavalier King Charles to Harpeth Valley. When he passed at 14 years old, the doctors and staff took amazing care of him and of my parents. Their care was sincere and heartfelt and made a difficult day a bit easier. We recommend Harpeth Valley Animal Hospital without hesitation!

Best care. Best staff. They treat your pets as their own. I have taken all of my rescues and pure bred to them. Would never go elsewhere.

We’ve had several animals here. The doctors and the staff here are by far the best in Nashville.

I love Dr. Smith! She is amazing and often they squeeze us in for same day appointments which is so accommodating! The staff is so knowledgeable and kind to my dog. I trust their judgement and they never perform any unnecessary tests which is a huge plus. I've since moved pretty far away from this vet but I'll still keep coming back because of how amazing they are!

I can't say enough great tings about Harpeth Valley. My dog is deaf and mostly blind and we visited several different vets in the area before I found one who I really trusted with him. The staff here is incredible, all the way from Dr. Hurst to his techs, to the wonderful associates who answer the phone and patiently answer all of my questions. I would recommend Dr. Hurst and his team to anybody!

I have taken my little 4 year old Maltese here fore care, shots and boarding since she was 6 weeks old And have always received excellent care. The staff is very knowledgeable and caring.

Dr.Smith is exceptional. She is very professional and personable. She took a reasonable amount of time and explained everything I needed to know about the care of my dog.

Really care about your pet

The doctor and his staff are all great. They take the time to both listen to you and to explain what is happening with your pet. I could not ask for a better place to take my 100 lb Choc lab.

I have been coming to these folks since I moved into the area and I have found them to be efficient, caring, and thorough. I will continue to rely on Dr. Hurst and his staff in the future.

Dr. Amy Smith has been great to us with our cats and dog. It is always a pleasurable experience to take our animals there.

Dr. Hurst and Dr. Smith have been treating our dogs since we moved here in 2012. We have had successful outcomes with all of their care. One of our dogs has a tendency to form Struvite crystals in her bladder and previously had to have surgery for this condition. Since following Dr. Hurst's instructions for diet and his monitoring for new formations, she has not had any new occurrences. It has been a relief not to have to put our girl through any other surgeries for this condition. Highly recommend. The entire staff is compassionate.
