Boomer has been seeing Dr. Harris most of his life. He just turned 13. He recently hasn’t been feeling well, so we took him in to be checked. They did bloodwork and an X-ray and found his liver is swollen. His bloodwork wasn’t great either. They recommended an 8 hr blood test for Cushing’s disease and said we would get an answer that day(Monday). We got the call to pick him up, but Dr. Harris was gone and we didn’t get an answer. We requested a call from her, but she never called. We called the office the next morning and were told she was out for the day. They did prescribe pain medicine for him and we picked that up, but still no call from Dr. Harris about the next steps in Boomer’s treatment. We called again the 3rd day(Wednesday)and asked to speak to Dr. Harris and were told she was in surgery all morning and was currently at lunch. We requested she call and were told she would be in surgery all afternoon. After no call once again, we called them. Dr. Harris would not take our call. Needless to say, we requested Boomer’s records and will be taking him elsewhere, where someone cares.

We LOVE Avenue Animal Hospital. We see Dr. Johnson and she is absolutely wonderful! My Great Dane has lots of skin issues and she is very proactive in her treatment. We have also seen some of the other vets when Dr. Johnson was out of town which we also have had good experiences with. The staff is also very friendly and calls the next day to check on your pet, which I appreciate.

Had to take my Senior dog for xrays. They came out and got him and brought him back. They call back a couple days later and want and ultrasound on him. Great group.

We were in need of a vet after moving to the Mt. Juliet area due to an eye injury to our dog. The first place we tried was not able to take him, even on a walk in basis until the following day. Avenue said they would take him right in. They made us feel wanted and like they cared about our dog, from the receptionist to the vet techs to the vet herself. Not only did the vet call us to explain what was going on (thanks to COVID, we couldn't go inside), but they called us back the following day to check on his status. Great people, totally recommend!!!

These people are like family. Our Golden has had many issues over his short 2.5 years and they treat him so great every time we come in. We also use AAH for boarding when we go out of town and he loves it!

I'm no longer a customer here but when I lived locally, this was my home vet and I was always so happy with their services. The doctors and staff are wonderful and kind. I fully trusted them with my pup. Now, the reason for 3 stars is this: I have a pitbull terrier who has never shown any aggression. When she was a new patient and it came to injections, they preferred to muzzle her, which I was totally fine with even though I knew she wouldn't react but agreed since I knew they were unfamiliar with her. On a few different occasions, she did wonderfully and it got to the point where they felt comfortable injecting her without the muzzle because she never growled, showed teeth, or exhibited any other behaviors during her visits. I got her paperwork to transfer to a new vet when I moved and I saw notes in her chart about her having to be muzzled during injections due to aggressive behaviors. I called up there and had a very stern discussion with them about this and how I was so disappointed that that had been documented in her chart when she had never once exhibited anything other than excitement and nervousness.

We've been bringing our dog to this clinic for 2, going on 3 years now. He is dog aggressive and can be unpredictable but the Avenue team has done a wonderful job with him. We board him there a few times a year when we go out of town and he comes home every time both smiling and exhausted. He loves Ms. Margie and the Ms. Leah! The prices are great and we've never thought twice about bringing our dog there. We recently got a kitten and they've been wonderful with her too. Highly recommend for medical, boarding and grooming.

The doctor that did an ultra sound on our dog was great, which is why I am sad to give this a one star review. The receptionist Cyndi should in no way be in the hospitality/customer service industry. The oncology hospital where our dog had received chemo on Monday, called AAH at 11 to see if we could get our prescriptions filled there, since we live on the other side of town. It is now Wednesday, he has still not eaten. I called Avenue Animal Hospital and spoke with Cyndi and told her I would be driving home at around 1 and was hoping to pick it up at 1:15ish. She told me that was not gonna be possible cause everyone was at lunch. I asked if she would call me when it’s ready. She said she would. At around 3:15pm (2.5 hours later from the time I first called), I called to check the status. She said it was still not ready. I asked her if she would let the people “in the back” (according to Cyndi) know this is an emergency and really need this as soon as possible. An hour later, I called back to check the status. I advised Cyndi- again, we have a very sick dog and I have to be up at 2:15am in the morning to go to work. Cyndi’s bedside manner responded in this way “I have no control over the people in the back”, and “we were doing this for y’all as a favor”! Meanwhile- had they told our oncologist it was a “favor”, I would’ve already been to 100 Oaks and back home and now asleep with perhaps a somewhat better feeling dog by now. I have NEVER had anyone in the care-taker, medical field speak to me so rudely and with no empathy. I ended up calling the oncologist crying my eyes out to have them go ahead and refill the prescription. We would go ahead and make that drive to deal with Lindsay cause she really, really cared about our dog and our situation (which is why she called Avenue to begin with). It’s all about the tone and delivery of the message- not the message. People in my home could hear how she was talking to me as well. Unbelievable- unkind- unacceptable. If her tone had been even a little bit kind, considerate, sympathetic- I would’ve definitely been able to leave a 5 star rating. It just takes one rotten apple to spoil the whole bunch. -Stephanie

The whole staff at Avenue Animal is amazing! Every time we're there they treat our fur babies right and they all seem to love them so much! If the love and attention wasn't enough, the level of care that they are provided is beyond excellent. They explain every procedure or test they want to do, the ramifications of the test and why they want to do them.

You never enter. They meet you at your car, take your pet in, bring your pet back when done. They were extremely empathetic and helpful in every way. I've never been happier with a vet and I didn't even see her face to face. I live a hundred miles from this vet, and needed care while passing thru. 10 for 10 would recommend and I will likely be back despite the distance. Prices were fair as well.

We've been using Avenue Animal hospital since we moved to the area in 2018. They have been great in helping us keep our canine babies happy and healthy. Professional and caring staff and doctors that take the time to listen and explain problems.
