We specifically asked for a body contour cut on our Yorkie. The cut was uneven. They made us pay before they even brought her out to us to see. It’s summer, poop sticks to the long hair around her paws and back legs. She was better off with the Covid haircut I had to give her myself a year ago. When I stated her hair was still way too long the only response I got was, “it’s still better than when she came in”

I wouldn't take my dog to Nash if it were the last grooming place around.

I attended Nash in 1990_1991. I have had a career in grooming for 28 years! They were absolutely amazing! I am forever grateful for the education and training they provided! I have been told by many how beautiful my grooms are and have been able to support my 3 children on my own through this career! I can't thank Nash enough for there excellent school!!!!

Today my Mom and I took our 14 year old Beagle to Nash Academy for the first time and last time. We told the instructor when we arrived that she is almost 15 years old with a bad back and arthritis, that she might have difficulty standing for long periods. We asked them to be careful with her, and the instructor assured us that they would. We understood that student would be work on her, and we were happy to let someone learn on our old girl. However, we assumed incorrectly that an instructor should be oversee them. I asked how long she would be, she said about 1.5 hour but they would call when she is done. But my mom decide to go early I’m so thankful I did. She was not ready and the instructor said I told you we would call, that she was not quite finished. She was not in sight but my mom could definitely hear her. Then a student was carrying her not supporting her properly because of her age and back issue, over to her table. She started trimming her nails, because of her back she had a hard time standing up, then the instructor came over to help I’m assuming because my mom was waiting and started to trim the hair on opposite back paw. So now she is on two legs and visibly struggling to stand. That’s was enough! My mom told them that they were down that they were hurting her. My mom left crying, how could someone do that to a 14 year old dog with a bad back and arthritis? I would never recommend them for anyone’s animal, no matter what age.

Been taking my dog here for a while but the last visit was HORRIBLE!!!! They charged me $50, way more than usual and DIDN'T EVEN CUT HIS HAIR! all I got for the $50 was a bath and brush. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM. I'll never return.

I am thoroughly disgusted with this place. First, they lied to me about the price saying that if I took my dog in every eight weeks I would get a discount. I never got a discount. Second, I have an AKC registered Sheltie, and he was supposed to just get a bath, trim, and feet scissored with a nail trim. Nails never get done because they say he is difficult, he has never been difficult. His feet are never scissored, and this past time they sheered his beautiful tail and “pants” which are a classic trait for shelties. I am beyond devastated over my poor dog’s coat, fearing it may never grow back right. Even worse, I got charged full price even though they did not trim his nails, and at this point, a refund will not bring his long hair back. This place is a disgrace, the people are rude, and seem very unprofessional. Please beware!!

Horrible experience, they didn't take the time to trim the dog, but instead took the easy road and shaved him right at the beginning of winter. We specifically said not to cut his hair off and went to pick him up and he was shaved and the cut isn't even. Will never be back.

I had a great experience with Nash academy. They were super friendly and the place was very clean. They were great to my dog Ozzie and the price was reasonable. I will be taking Ozzie back very soon.

Dog lovers out there! Dream of working with dogs all day? I did, for a decade! Even through college and throughout my teaching career...Until finally my husband said, we are sending you to grooming school! And I was so confused, grooming school? So we did our research and we wanted the best for me because if I was going to fly from Hawaii to the mainland to learn to be a dog groomer (how funny does that sound) we thought "go big or go home." So I enrolled at Nash in Kentucky and packed my bags and left my little island and family to embrace this new career endeavor. Nash had ever so convenient student housing right across the street from the school (But please watch out for busses when crossing the street!) and boy was I in a for a surprise! Dogs hate getting groomed! I left class everyday in tears and did not think I could ever do it. But Vivian Nash's (owner and founder) love for dogs was still so apparent after all her years of experience and the pure joy in her eyes every time I saw her with a doggy, I would think to myself, I can do this! I want to be her! I want that happiness too! So I pulled up my bootstraps and took everything I possibly could from Nash Academy's Program (which is set up for success!) What I learned from being at school there (besides learning how to become a pet professional) is that no matter where you go, or what you do in life, you are only going to get out of your education, what you put into it. So, if you are like me, and determined to be the best you can be, then choose Nash Academy because the foundation of their program only will lead you to many successes in your professional grooming career. Just 3 years later I own the top growing pet salon in Honolulu. Am I the best stylist out there? Of course not (Yet!) but my clients leave my salon knowing that , A) I LOVE their doggy and B) I have a rich foundation & education to care for their furry best friend. Thank you Nash Academy for helping me LIVE MY HAPPINESS and no longer Dream about it. Aloha!

This is literally the worst place you could ever take your pet. The staff is generally rude and they do NOT treat your pet well. Honestly if you paid me $500 I still wouldnt submit my pet to this horrible excuse for a pet grooming shop. How its still open is beyond me.

I paid almost 10,000 for my daughter to go to this academy to be trained by interns (fellow students); she and most everyone in her class - those that didn't drop out - were very disappointed and graduated feeling that they didn't know more than how to trim nails and give baths and clean kennels and wash towels. Those are things she could have - and did - learn at home. I'm angry about the money wasted and my daughter is angry about the time wasted. Talk to a former student before you enroll.

WOW!! I just graduated from NASH ACADEMY of ANIMAL ARTS in Lexington Kentucky. I have traded in my business suit for a grooming smock and I could not be happier. When I decided to follow my passion for dogs and make a dream come true to start a career in the continuously growing Pet Industry, I had no idea that my experience at Nash Academy would be so educational and personally fulfilling. My decision to attend Nash Academy came after doing much research. I chose Nash because of the academy`s reputation for being the best in the industry internationally and their genuine compassion for dogs. I was pleasantly surprised with the high standards for excellence that Nash sets for safety, sanitation, dog handling as well as the grooming and styling. The pet is the priority and every single dog, big or small,...Nash loves them all. I cannot say enough about the experience. Every day at Nash is fun, and you truly learn new skills every day. With every dog and cat you groom you can visualize your future. The smiles on the clients faces when they see their dogs groomed are priceless. Every single dog groomed at Nash Academy by the students are given a final check by a senior instructor or the owner and CEO, Vivian Nash herself, before being given to their parents. I would recommend Nash Academy to anyone who is truly passionate about animals, has a high standard and appreciation for excellence and committed to being the best in the industry. I am proud to be a Nash Certified Groomer and member of the Nash family for life.

Speaking as a former student..I have to say I was disappointed with Nash Academy. I thought long and hard about it and did plenty of research about different schools before I landed at Nash. Their online courses are excellent, however I was very disappointed at their practical courses. I was doing basic kennel cuts everyday (something i knew how to do before I even started) and was there i dive in and learn everything I could about the different breed cuts and hand scissoring. After I expressed my concerns to the director, I was told that even though i had only completed a few days there, I would have to pay for the course entirely ($1500) according to the school's policy. Which I found atrocious seeing as I wasn't happy with what I was receiving. My own dumb fault for not sitting in for a day before I enrolled. I would definitely recommend doing this before you sign ANYTHING or send them ANY money.
