We had a wonderful experience adopting our cat, Miss Kitty, from the Humane Shelter. They make sure the pet is a perfect fit for your home. Miss Kitty was well taken care of, and her adjustment to our house was quick. I chalk that up to the love she got from the wonderful staff. If you're looking to add a furry friend to your family, I highly recommend the Humane Society. They truly love all the animals in their care.

We foster dogs/puppies for the Humane Society. Halee is such a great/knowledgeable contact, she always is very helpful with any questions we have.

I adopted a cat from the HSOWC and I was very pleased with the staff and experience. They genuinely care about the animals and placing them in homes. They do a thorough job of placing the animals in the right homes and ensuring a great start in their life. The facility was clean and had plenty of room for the cats.

Truly impressed with this place and all of the good work they do. Especially Cody! All of the work he puts in for the animals is impressive. It really shows how much he cares for the society’s residents, workers, and volunteers!

These kind folks helped hook my family and I up with a beautiful little chihuahua mix who's been the love of our lives. The process was smooth and it definitely seemed like they were interested in making sure the puppy went to the best home possible. I'm glad I could provide that home. Everyone was really nice, especially Halee, who was the one who sat down with me and worked out all the paperwork. The puppy had been taken care of by a foster who got her totally pad trained before I took her home, which made training so much easier at home. Thanks so much for this sweet baby and for all your hard work.

Our family has been involved with HSWC for many years on the foster level. We also have several "failed fosters" great bunch of folks. Shout out to Hailey for all she does!

The Humane Society of Washington County is the best place for every type of animal! They do so much for our community: they constantly take in animals although they have a limited space, they help people with the spay and neuter program, they promote local businesses, they help people who cannot afford food for their fur babies to get all the supplies they need, and they make sure that every animal gets the best forever family possible, and all of this by only using private donations since they receive no government funding! What make this place even more special is the presence of the two most hardworking individuals I know: Cody and Halee! Cody is the person that runs everything, so if you have any question or doubt you can always ask him! He does so much for this organization, from organizing events to pick up furniture for the thrift store. He is very humble and kind, and he does everything he can and more so that the organization and the animals can thrive. Halee is the sweetest person I know: she is very caring and will not hesitate to explain you everything that she knows about animal care (which is A LOT) so that you can give the best care to your future furry companion! She is very trustworthy and kind, she consider her job as her life and she always make sure that the animals go to the right home. From immunizations to adoption, Halee shows constant care and love for the animals and for the people of the Humane Society. I highly recommend this place, they treat every animal the best way possible and give stray a second chance to be happy forever with their humans! Make sure to contact Halee and Cody if you decide to adopt or if you want to contribute to the wellbeing of our community! They will guide you to the best option for you and they will explain you all the ways you can help the Humane Society, from monetary or pet supplies donations to foster and volunteer! The Humane Society of Washington County is the best place ever as it excel in kindness, support, cleanliness, and care! So glad we have such loving and supporting environment in Johnson City for our animals!

I am so grateful for the work The Humane Society of Washington County is doing for our community. They have gone above and beyond in assisting with strays, fostering, adoption events, and spay/neuter events. Even though resources are limited, they are generous, always sharing and doing what they can to help others. I have reached out several times about different situations and have always had a quick - if not immediate response - and offers of help. They have never turned me away. Thank you for all you do!

THE HUMANE SOCIETY IS NOT THE SAME AS THE WASHINGTON COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER!! These folks are amazing and spend every waking minute working for the benefit of the animals!!! They health check every single pet that comes through their program and spare no expense when an animal needs it! Thank you all for your help and love for all creatures!!!

The Humane Society helps not only the animals of Johnson City, but the whole community at large. They are very giving and helpful if you are ever in need of information or even in desperate times and need a helping hand for your pets. As a pet owner of four dogs and one cat, I can personally say the last several months they have been our saving grace. You cannot ask for a more loving, caring and giving organization. Much love to all of you who are a part of this organization❤️.

I can't say enough things about this shelter! Cody Storm and his team are an amazing group of people that work tirelessly to help animals and making sure that they go to the best forever homes. Having personally volunteered at the shelter and worked with Cody, he is there day in and day out, the first one to get there and the last one to leave. Everyone else that I've met is just as hardworking and kind, the best people and advocates you would want for these critters. They don't get enough credit for all the work they do!

Everyone I have spoken to here is amazing! They have helped me get all my community kitties spayed/neutered. They also help the community by sharing the food donations they receive. Cody was very helpful with that process as well!

I have worked closely with the dog foster program in Washington County. They are absolutely amazing and do so much for the animals in our community! This organization is incredible and I feel honored to have been able to work with some of the best Mary James and Cindy Robinson in fostering and volunteering! So grateful for the help and friendships I've gained saving lives!!

The Humane Society if Washington County is one of the best humane society/rescue groups in our community. Specifically, the foster coordinators Mary and Cindy. They bend over backwards and devote so much time, money and effort into making sure all the homeless dogs and cats in our community have the resources they need to find loving, forever homes. I have worked with them professionally and personally and can say they (and the whole staff/volunteers) are top notch and really care about what they are doing.

We are currently fostering the sweetest little puppy through the Humane Society of Washington County and have been so happy! Halee is one of my contacts and is always so sweet and personable. Fostering is a wonderful thing because you are helping to socialize the dogs/cats so they will be ready for their forever home and you get to love on these sweet animals! It's Win/Win!

This Humane Society is amazing. I have been fostering for them over the last 1 and half. Halee does an excellent job and matching the perfect owner with each pet. My daughter has been fostering kittens for a few months now from the Humane Society. It’s such an amazing place and we are proud to be associated with them. The people in this organization are working to make a difference in the lives of animals through their programs. They offer a foster program for animals so they can get a head start on living in home environments. They offer low cost spay and neuter vouchers, and they conduct regular adoption events for the animals. The staff has continued to work through the Pandemic and still care for the animals and run the programs. Halee Robinson, the Program Assistant, combines care and humor under stressful situations. The entire staff is caring and helpful. Don't forget the Wags to Riches Thrift Store on West Walnut Street. Lots of treasures to buy that support the programs of the Humane Society.

The Humane Society and Cody directing this facility go above and far beyond for you. I can not say enough about him and the new leadership. Amazing, treats my DOG so well and myself. I would give infinite stars. Much respect and love to their great work. Animals matter as well and need care and they will do anything they can to help. Beautiful experience very caring.
