Amanda is hands down the best trainer around. I feel that she not only trained our pup, but trained us. I know that sounds funny but it is true. I now understand why my pup was acting out. Amanda's honesty was truly a breath of fresh air. When I would hold the leash incorrectly or do a command wrong Amanda would let me know, and show me what I was doing wrong, which truly show how much she cared about our Apollo. I would recommend if you want your dog trained to be a better part in your family that you go to Amanda. She is a very dedicated trainer.

Absolutely atrocious, lack of respectable professionalism. Would not recommend at all. If you do choose this person will try her hardest to make your dog eat Fromm in which is absolutely horrible for your doggy. Absolutely disrespectful once paid in full. Only wants to make a buck

Teddy was a Covid-Sheltered boy full of anxiety when he first got to Model Citizen and required extra TLC that Amanda provided in order to get him to open up and be receptive of training. I missed him dearly for the almost 3 months he was in training, but Amanda kept me updated with videos and facetimes especially during the time when teddy was trying to come out of his shell. Based on Teddy’s caloric burn rate during training, we had a great conversation about how to ensure he could maintain the proper BMI at Model Citizen and when he returned home. Amanda was extremely helpful in suggesting multiple options and I decided on going up to an extremely high protein formula (inukshuk or farmina). And my beefy boy loves it. Teddy enrolled in the ultimated program. I can now walk him with out being dragged through the neighborhood. And most importantly, he now greats guests of the house calmly, and doesn’t lung and jump all over them the second they step into the house. Seeing him now, thriving because of his training, makes me happy that I made this investment of time and money. We also appreciate that if I think that he’s regressing at all on any command (because I’m a soft momma). Amanda is there to instruct me on what I’m doing wrong for Teddy. She always responds same day too, and fits us in for in person training even when the programs full!!! The Unlimited Program is a great deal for everything you get !

I was pretty reluctant at first to send my dog here because of the length of the stay but she was an oversized, overdramatic, Alaskan Malamute puppy with severe separation anxiety and had already been kicked out of a 10 day program after the first night. I got pretty frustrated at first because I am not a fan of e-collar training and I was worried that my puppy would come back scared of the commands rather than excited to follow them. It took I think 8 weeks for her away from home training to be finished. She was supposed to come home after 6 but the trainer recognized that she wasn't quite ready to transition back home and took her back for two more weeks of training. When we did get her back and we did the additional training classes, me and my husband were able to learn what we were doing that was affecting how our dog was acting in addition to her training. Now she's home and back to being her giant goofy self that loves to chase her tail and play with toys and no longer tries to bite or jump on anybody and stays off my kitchen counters. She also comes when called and does so much better on the leash that we are even able to take her around town with us to dog friendly places where she makes a million friends (Everyone wants to snuggle a giant fluffy puppy!) And even when excited, with a little correction, remembers her manners. So although I was not overly excited about the experience at first, the results are clear. The trainer did a great job and its obvious to me now that my pup was never in fear and in fact felt like one of the pack at her house. We were even able to send her there for boarding when we went out of town and you could tell she was excited to be there. I would recommend this to anyone who has a dog that has been deemed difficult. If other trainers can't handle your dog, I assure you this trainer can. Amanda is an outstanding trainer. My husband and I took our highly active white lab to her at 8 months old for a board and train session and we shocked at how quickly she changed our puppies crazy behaviors. She now walks very easy on lead, plays gently with our toddler, and obeys all the commands Amanda taught her.

I’m so glad that I found Model Citizen Canine, Amanda was so patient each and every lesson that we had for our two rescue girls. They would steal food from my two boys, jump on the counter and take food, bolt out of the door when ever I opened it, walking my 80lbs female, Lani is a breeze now. How Amanda explains everything on how to stop behaviors, and to follow though with continuing success of the commands that were taught are so easy.
