Had a health emergency with my pet cockatiel this morning and despite them not traditionally caring for avians they managed to get me in, do an exam, and refer me out to K-State’s small animal hospital very quickly. All the employees were very kind and gentle with my already distressed pet, and very professional and kind with me as well. This is my first experience with this vet service but I was very happy with it. Thank you guys.

I took my cat Simon to stone house he was backed up they said the guesstimate would be 400 then 700 as I watched her stick the needle into his jaw and poke poke poke again and again not just with one needle but three poor Simon was already in pain then the lady said my guesstimate was shorter than she thought and said it would be 1400 and something I lost it unprofessional and down right dirty playing with emotions like they do for a profit I told her I can't afford that and neither could my mother as she calmly told me about some kind of credit card they hadn't done anything like x-rays they did blood work Sunday f#$king Sunday offered to put Simon down I couldn't do it and left with my poor Simon feeling the pain. No kind of payment plan.before the seen my cat he could move but afterwards he just in shock and hurts more.

Called ahead to confirm being able to bring pet in, was Told yes it was OK That someone would be available till 530 or 6. When I got there At 5:15 they turned me away. What kind of way is that to run any business. When pulling away noticed that they were turning yet another pet owner. Only reason for the star is to let others know of their lack of caring and bad business habits

Been using Stonehouse extensively for many years. Above average pet care combined with an almost always open availability makes it a logical choice. Then the 24/7 staffing for hospitalized pets puts Stonehouse well above the rest. The friendly staff just sweetens the pot! Keep up the good work Stonehouse!!

StoneHouse provided options to us when it seemed no one else would for our Penelope when she couldn’t birth on her own. They were compassionate, empathetic, and went out of their way to protect momma and babies. Thank you to your rockstar team!!

Very nice, clean and friendly but charged $55 to bathe my french bulldog and an additional $17.99 to trim nails. Totally outrageous. Their excuse was, they don't normally bathe dogs. If they would have told me what the charges would of been I would of taken him to Pet Smart.

Pet owners understand having to euthanize a pet is never easy. It’s loosing a member of your family. I’ve only went to stonehouse for 16-17 years. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on shots, procedures, boarding, etc. Today I had to euthanize my friend Gervaso. Very tough day. We filled out all the info needed and said goodbye to Gervaso. We asked for him to be cremated. We left after saying goodbye knowing they would call when everything is done. Not ten minutes after I left, we get a call to pay the bill! We left knowing we would be back after they had completed the service we asked for and to pick up the urn. We just felt this was a horrible way to treat longtime customers or really anyone on an already tough day. I will never do any business with this company again and will recommend using any other animal hospital even if it means going out of town. Very disappointed.

I cannot thank these ladies enough for today! I was terrified of the worst and they saved my dogs life. I tried my normal vet and they told me had to wait 2 to 3 weeks for an appointment. My dog wouldn't have survived the day without Stone House Animal Hospital! Definitely will recommend this veterinarian. I'm also only using them for all my animals. Thanks again!

The techs were very nice to my dog, but I am quite unhappy with their explanation for their vaccine policy. I have a dog who has been full vaccinated her entire time in my care, but since we just moved tot he area, we needed to renew her vaccines at a new vet. I picked storehouse due to good reviews from friends. However, they failed to tell me that because I did not bring her vaccine records with me to the appointment (no problem, just email them), I was going to have to pay an extra $60 dollars for vaccine boosters. Had I known this, I would have driven home and gotten her records before she received these nonsense 2 part vaccines that she didn't need. But that was not made known to me at any point in the visit other than a small note identifying the type of vaccine she was getting on my receipt - maybe something they should mention to their clients.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Our regular vet actually had recommended another facility if my dog's condition deteriorated during after hours for some reason. With our luck, he of course got worse on Easter Sunday. My gut instinct told me to go with Stonehouse rather than the other recommended urgent care place. Let me tell you, I made the right decision. Stonehouse got us right in and the staff never rushed us, despite being an hour away from closing time. Dr. Ellen was fantastic. She was thorough, patient, and gentle with my dog. She even got down on the floor to examine him. I was prepared to pay and arm and a leg, but never once did they try to push any unnecessary tests or treatments on us. We left with an answer and a treatment plan. The amount I paid for the care he did receive was absolutely reasonable. I can't thank everyone enough for helping us out and although I sure hope we don't need any further urgent care, it is comforting knowing that we have a trustworthy place to go if we need to.

My cat was hit by a car and the ladies that found her left on the road, brought her to Stone House. Never before had I used this hospital but after witnessing the love, care, and attention that they showed not only to my pet but every one they came into contact with, they deserve every star and more! Every staff member was as extremely helpful and answered every question they could, if they didn't have the answer they found the answer. Amazing people that I will always trust to give the best care ????

Prompt followup, didn’t feel rushed, staff always good at asking if there’s anything else needed, they’ve always done a good job of caring for our pet family from early life to the very end.

This is by far the worst vet experience I have ever had happen. When my dog got shot, they would not tell us how bad the injury was or what we could do about it or anything until nearly a week later! They didn’t even give her any meds for pain or really anything! She had a shattered, not a break or two, SHATTERED leg AND tail! By the time they told us her condition, the only thing we could do was put her down. I would give them a zero star rating, heck even a negative star rating if I could. The people who “took care” of my dog should never have even been able to work with animals in the first place. Now I will say that this was some time ago and I don’t know if it was just a particular persons but I have many people inside and out of my circle who have had bad experiences with them as well.

Waited for three hours for them to work on my cat. They charged 30.00 to shave a bit of fur off, they left skin literally hanging and did nothing about her injury. Never saw a vet during the 3 hours there except to tell me that they were going to charge over 200.00. Left gaping wounds on my cat. HORRIBLE people, and horrible vet. DISGUSTING.

The walk-in service was very convenient. The staff was all very friendly, mind you this was towards the end of the day. Clean facility and explained everything very well. The price was much lower than the previous vet is been taking my dog to for years. I will definitely be going back there for future care.

My small chihuahu's leg was injured on a Sunday and my vet is not open on Sundays so I took her to Stone House. The admittance process was fine and staff were nice. They x-rayed her leg and said it was broken and would require surgery and a pin to be placed. I asked them to splint it for me and stated I would take her to her regular vet for surgery. The next day we were told that her leg was not broken and surgery was not needed. My elder girl would have been put under anesthesia unnecessarily.

I had been a customer of this vet for around 10 years and today I tried to take my dog in to find out what was wrong with her. After calling ahead to see if I needed to make an appointment because of the covid-19 I was told to come and call from the parking lot and they would do check in from over the phone. This wasn't a problem until I got there and was told that I had a past due balance due, I had already paid it. They verified it but then I was told that there were other issues with my account and they no longer wanted to do business with me (this came from the office manager). That's fine it's their choice but they could have told me before dragging my sick dog clear across town. When I asked what the other issues were (me being the account holder) I was told "other issues that they will not be discussing with me." So I asked to speak to the office manager and was told "She's busy right now. I'll give her the message. There's nothing we can do for you go to another vet" This happened around noon today and I waited til after 8pm for them to get a hold of me and explain because I there sometime in February ( i believe) and wasn't made aware of any issues including the unpaid balance that my mother had on my account from a cremation. I did take my dog to my other vet [ ANIMAL CLINIC OF NORTH TOPEKA] who was fully booked but still managed to get my dog checked out (xrays, blood work, and looked over) between appointments. Turns out she developed a seriously infected uterus after this last heat and had to undergo emergency surgery in the after hours. She did fine and surgery went well i caught it before it caused more issues and now she's fixed. The service has declined from when I first started taking my pets there but with the staffing issues I understood. However, the way I was spoken to (it's not necessarily what was said but more the snarky way it was spoken) after calling ahead and arriving angered me more than a bit It just shows me it doesn't matter how long you've been going there they don't care about you or your pet.
