We are first time pet owners and a little nervous about picking a vet to take our kitties to. After hearing glowing reviews from friends, we took them to Animal Doctor Blue Hills. They took such good care of our babies and it's clear that all of their staff truly love the animals they work with!

I brought my dog here as a puppy when I got him in April for his vaccinations and puppy wellness visits. In between his puppy shots and appointments, we visited another vet that I felt would be more cost effective at that moment. I quickly learned that there aren’t many places that provide services with as much care for the pups as Blue Hills. The nurse was well educated and thorough and the doctor was in within minutes completing tests and providing a diagnosis and treatment. I’ve seen a handful of vets, and all of them have been thorough and helpful in their care. I would MUCH rather pay extra and know my dog is getting the best care- worth every penny.

The nicest staff in town. I love how friendly and respectful they are to their patients, and they explain really well their procedures and what to expect from the visit.

Very caring and kind ppl. Friendly and understanding of people’s financial situations. Very helpful to me and my sick pup even tho I was very low in funds helped me figure out a plan to try to save my pup and be within my price range as well giving me a few things xtra to help. 10 out of 10 recommended to anyone in need of a vet. ????❤️

Do not go there to have your pet groomed and be careful with them charging for things you never asked them to do for any medical purposes. Regarding grooming: They have "samples" of what the length of fur will be after the groom that are inaccurate, and after telling you that they know the "synthetic hair samples" are inaccurate they do nothing about it to fix the issue. Additionally, they do not attend to notes of what to do. For example, when asked to shave inside of dogs ear (to better manage issues), they did not. None of what was requested met anything close to satisfaction or even acceptable. When confronted about it, they did nothing more than "oh well." Money down the drain, as I already have set up a grooming appointment with another group (4 days from now). Regarding vet services: I had just finished an appointment 5 days ago at their sister office (AD Westside) where my dog had an exam and received some medication for an allergy medication. Their sister office recommended the groomers and said that once I had the forms of what vaccines my dog had from a previous vet office (we just moved), that Blue Hills could administer any vaccines needed prior to the groom. I brought the forms and asked to do the needed vaccines and the grooming, along with a fecal exam (as it was timely). They apparently did an “annual exam,” which I did not ask for, as I told them when we arrived for drop of that he just had an exam at their sister office. My point here is to be careful. Read everything they give you, because I misplaced my trust in thinking that what they would say is what I was seeing in an invoice. However that was not the case. Read the other reviews, trust the negative ones for what they are. Sure they were “friendly,” but I needed services done accurately and not such that I have to have them redone or where they are redoing an exam that I had just paid for 5 days previously. Honestly I wish I could have given 0 stars for this review. There are other places in and out of town that will better meet your needs, my advice would be to go somewhere else.

They really seem to have a genuine love for animals. Granted, we haven't had a "big emergency," but they are very competent and attentive to our routine medical needs. (That includes shots, maintenance meds, and check-ups.) Their prices are equal to or better than any other similar services I was able to locate in MHK. I haven't tried their boarding program yet so I have no opinion on that. In short, I'm very satisfied thus far.

I was in a crisis situation needing emergency hospitalization and needed to find boarding for my dog on very short notice. Even though their boarding facilities were already full, Animal Doctor Blue Hills, made arrangements to accommodate me and kept my dog with no questions asked for almost 7 days while I was hospitalized.

They always work my pets when needed. I can always rely on these doctors to take excellent care of my accident prone babies. They have gone out of their way to comfort my dogs when they were ill. This is truly the best clinic in Manhattan. - the Muellers

We had our cat spayed recently, and it was our first time having a pet go under the knife. The staff was very professional and kind. Their rates and scheduling ability is better than we found in the area and we were satisfied with the value.

The staff was very friendly and took good care of both of my guinea pigs.

We have taken all of our pets here! They are very caring with our high maintenance kitties and I have heard amazing things from my dog owner friends that take their fur babies there too! We love Animal Doctor Blue Hills!!

My husband and I really love the Animal Doctor at Blue Hills. They are so good and very honest. They do not try to talk you into anything you don't want at that time. They are very informative and they will print up for you any information you want. They also explain everything to you in a way you'll understand it. We had Deb Nelson today and she's really really good. Even her assistants are very good and very helpful. We just love them. I highly recommend you to take your pets there. I can guarantee you will love them as much as we do. Even our dogs love it there as well. I hope you will consider taking your pets there. All it takes is first time there and you'll want to continue to take your fur babies there everytime. You'll love them too.

My shih tzu Cooper is a nervous little guy with new people/places. The tech and Doc are so good with him every time we've been. We're pretty new to the area so it's been great to find a place Cooper seems comfortable (as he can be at a vet) and prices are very reasonable.

Absolutely love this Vet Office! I would recommend Dr. Waters to everyone! I have been taking my now almost 5 year old Tabby cat there for 4 years now. The most caring, helpful & empathetic staff I’ve ever met. Genuinely care about you & your pets too. My cat fell sick last week & they have been so sincere calling & checking on her. (She’s getting better now- Yay!)

They take good care of animals .

I brought vaccination records a month ahead of time and made an appointment for boarding. I was assured everything was up to date and my dog was welcome. When I went to drop her off all of a sudden they tell me her vaccinations are not up to date. Zero professionalism. Employees blaming each other in front of me and telling me with attitude that I won't find any other place to board my dog if I don't pay them for an unneeded vaccination.

They have taken good care of my pets over the years. All the staff are friendly and helpful and are very good about appointment and shot reminders. I really can't think of a negative thing to say about them.

Great communication and very professional. They've worked with us for scheduled appointments, emergency visits and boarding. Started with them when it was Blue Hills Animal Hospital and have stayed with them through all the dogs and cats we've loved. They love them as much as we do!

Dr. O'Meilia and staff gave their full time and attention to my dog. They were caring, informative and attentive to my needs as a pet owner. I appreciate the peace of mind that my dog is in good hands at their clinic.

Great team, really took care of my concerns and my cat! They were very thorough and up front with costs and my cats health. They were timely and made the exam painless and stress less for me and my cat. Can’t praise them enough!

Went in to get our kitty her annual shots and the staff was so friendly and kind to us. They were gentle with my fur baby, kind to me, super professional. Love this place! Will be coming back for any of our fur baby needs.

The most amazing vet I have ever been to! Dr. O’Meilia truly cares about our dogs and takes the time to explain everything. The vet techs are amazing as well. My dogs are now excited to go to the vet! We’re moving out of Kansas and I am genuinely so sad that we’ll have to find a new vet. Could not recommend them more. If you want an affordable clinic that cares about your dogs as much as you do, take them to animal doctor blue hills!

The staff were not wearing masks around each other, standing inches from each other.

I had been taking my dog to another vet and they wanted to do x-rays. They were going to charge me $130 for a single view, not including the exam fee, so I decided to price shop. Blue Hills was the cheapest I could find, charging $60 a view and $50 for a new patient exam. I was so impressed with this clinic. The tech was personable and very sweet with my dog who was very nervous. The veterinarian was excellent. She explained everything they were going to do, she showed me what she was finding on the physical exam and they showed me the x-ray. After explaining the whole situation to her and concluding that my dog would need a surgery, she told me she had never done one and recommended a different clinic so my dog could get the best care possible. Anyone saying this clinic is just out for the money doesn’t understand vet med and everything that goes into caring for animals. I will be switching my pets over to this clinic for all their care.

I ended up parking far away and was only there to pick up a birthday cake. I had forgotten my mask. With the mask requirement I wasn't sure if I'd have to go back to my car but they said I was fine to go in. I was extremely happy. I hope the masks can go away soon.

Dr.Waters is assuring and passionate about her job when I bring my dog in she is thorough about her job explains information in ways I can easily understand and takes her time to answer your questions shes not just running off or in a hurry she literally just takes her time.. I highly recommend this veternarian clinic.. Winston loves the endless peanut butter and care.. I dont think there prices are high either..
