Gage Animal Hospital Topeka, Kansas

Told me to just leave my very sick dog that can't stand on his own on the curb, they'd come get him because of covid. Really compassionate. I'm sure my already scared dog wouldn't mind that at all.

I brought my Beautiful Stella here and they were very professional as well as treating us just like family. I can't thank the staff enough for their caring treatment for not only Stella but the way they treated me like family as well. I highly recommend them from Experience ????????

I moved out of Kansas, and have been to a couple other vet offices since. I can't find one as good as Gage. All of the staff there genuinely cares. The office itself is clean, big, and pretty. I miss Gage Animal Hospital! 10/10 recommend.

I have been going to GAH Dr. Shipman since 1989. I love my vet. I consider him the very best in town. I have had 2 cats (one that lived to be 21) and 2 dogs (one that lived to be 20). My latest dog has been going here since she was a pup and she gets excited to see we are pulling in the driveway. She loves the vets office. I’ve gone thru surgeries, birth of baby kittens, my last dog had seizures and having to put down my pets here. They are very compassionate people. I just couldn’t take my fur babies anywhere where else in town with the trust I have with this animal clinic. Thank you Dr Shipman and Dr Blackwell for taking such good care of my pets through the years.

Was instructed by wildlife rescue to bring orphaned opossum here who needed immediate attention, they acted annoyed and upset that I bothered them

We recently had to have our 15 year old pet euthanized. It is an especially hard time. Dr. Shipman was very through explaining each step. I was very appreciative of his caring and respectful nature. We were blessed to have him as our vet. Thank you so much.

We took my cat that was only 5 there she was weak couldn't move they said she was fine and to feed her (which we always did) they sent her home she died the next day they don't know what they are doing don't recommend them at all

My pregnant dog didn’t have puppies for a while after birthing 3 pups. So I took her to this place and they said she needed a c section because her placenta has detached from the puppies. (All he did was feel her stomach and FYI each puppy has their own placenta. So idk how he knew) he wanted $1500 upfront and I couldn’t do full price so he denied the c section and said the puppies will be stillborn if I didn’t do it. So we took her home and she ended up having 7 more healthy puppies. I’m glad I didn’t have the money so that he could do a unneeded procedure. If I could give no stars I would have. Do not bring your pregnant dog here for anything. All they want is money

Don't go here if you have a seriously emergent situation. I had an actively seizing dog and I understand paperwork was important but the receptionist was acting like it wasn't a priority. We have taken animals here before and absolutely loved the care they recieved. However, having an actively seizing dog and not being made a priority seems like poor triage skills to me. Can't believe it happened here of all places though.

Our cat has gotten wonderful care, I would highly recommend Gage Anumal Hospital. The receptionist Heather is great, I couldn't be happier with their service.

Do not take your animal here if you want there hair cut. I was told they did grooming. They lied. They have no professional groomers. My dogs hair was very choppy and she was still dirty. She felt like she was never even given a bath. Then I felt her tail and it was still wet. They didn't even dry her completely . I was charged $79 for this. This is more than professional groomers charge. The morning receptionist was rude and condescending. If you live in topeka do not take your animal here. Go to Burlingame Road Animal Hospital. I would leave no stars of I could.

I have been using this vet for over 8 years for all of my animals, and have always had a great experience with both Dr. Shipman and Dr. Blackwell. They are very knowledgeable and always know exactly what to do when my fur-babies are sick or injured.

We have 4 pets and we wouldn't take them anywhere else. The doctors take the time to explain things to us so that we thoroughly understand and never make us feel stupid or that we are bothering them. Our fur babies love them. Then there is the staff, they are so caring and go out of their way to help with our fur babies. They really do care about them. Thank you all for all that you do!

As we live North generally have taken our dog to a closer vet. On Saturday we found a foot injury that looked infected, and as this clinic was open we took him there. Wonderful service and staff, great care and Doc was wonderful. I think we found a new place for our pets.

Very professional. Very caring. They work diligently to provide the best care for your pets. Best in town that I've found. Dr Shipman, and more recently Dr Blackwell have always taken magnificent care of our animals. They both are excellent communicators who willingly take the time to explain what's going on, and to ensure that you understand what will be involved with your pets treatment and on-going health. They have also been enormously supporting when we have gone through end-of-life phases with our pets including the 21 year old cat that Dr Shipman had cared for since she was born in our back bedroom. If I could give Gage Animal Hospital and their staff 10 stars, I would do so.

These wonderful people took in a fledgling I found wandering about in the neighbor's yard. Hope the bird's doing ok!

Had to take Blue in because he wasn't feeling good. Dr. Leslie Blackwell was awesome with him. I would highly recommend. Entire staff was super friendly.

I moved to KS in 1992 and brought my puppy into Gage Animal Hospital (when it was still located on Gage). Dr. Shipman was so good with my dog and the staff was all very accommodating. I continued to go to Dr. Shipman at Gage Animal …

Both Dr. Shipman & Dr. Blackwell are so very gentle and kind to all the animals they see. They will always keep in contact with you about your animals care. Gage Animal Hospital is wonderful! They have been our vet--and our friends' vet--for years and years, and we've truly had nothing but terrific, above-and-beyond experiences with Dr. Shipman and all the staff at GAH. Their hearts are in everything they do, and our pets are very relaxed coming to their checkups--they know they are in good hands, literally!

Working in rescue, we sometimes have to get a dog into the vet without notice. Last night we rescued 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and took them straight to Gage and they got us right in and spent the time giving them full exams even though it took them past their closing time. They didn't rush through any part and explained any issues thoroughly with us. I highly recommend Dr. Blackwell and Dr. Shipman for your beloved pets.
