We tried to get an appointment for our dog (we are new to this area) and were told they are not taking new patients. They really should put that on their website.

My wife and I have taken our 2 year old Australian Shepherd here since he joined our family. The staff is courteous and kind while also being extremely helpful. Our dog is the first dog either of us have owned and the staff at PVAH have really helped us during our initial learning curve. The inability to make appointments did make us nervous at first, but it has never been an issue. In general, the longest we’ve ever waited to be seen is about 15 minutes. I’d highly recommend this team and will trust them with a member of our family.

Been going to these guys for years. They have friendly staff who've. They are always polite & the place is clean. They don't take appointments, but I've never had to wait very long to see the vet. Even when I've specified to see a certain one. One of my dogs can be hard to win over & they've done a good job to make her feel comfortable during the visit.

Proceed with caution if you’re wanting a vet experience that is judgement free. Overall the experience was okay. However, the initial two phones calls dripped with judgement and frustration. Case and point, I call because my poor guy has a limpy paw — won’t put pressure on it. Lady on the phone is appalled I don’t have up-to-date vaccinations. So, naturally I ask questions to educate myself. You would’ve thought I was the biggest lug on the planet. Leaking with annoyance with every additional question that came out of my mouth. Great. I proceed to bring my dog to the vet (COVID rules say call when you arrive). So I do, and head back down the the judgement zone as I am now speaking to someone new. She says.. and I quote, “You’re dog is inactive in our system; I need to go down to the basement to get his file. Please hold.” Versus.. “Do you mind holding? I need to collect some further information.” What an opportunity to reactivate a client vs. create more frustration. In the end, the protocols worked. The vet called me in the car, gave me great suggestions and information. And, the highlight of the entire experience was the kind kind dog nurse that returned my dog to me in the car afterwards. An okay experience with a frustrating start.

I called to get some information on if it was safe for dogs to eat raw potatoes. Unfortunately my dog ate one this morning and wasn't feeling right. I looked up info online and was seeing conflicting information so I thought I would contact a vet. They informed me that since my dog had not been seen with them before that they could not tell me whether or not potatoes were poisonous to dogs. Clearly they only care about getting money from people for appointments and not helping pet owners take care of their animals.

I love that the clinic is walk-in. It really takes the pressure off since my cat always seems to disappear under a heavy piece of furniture when I have made a vet appointment. The doctor and assistant we're both very patient and careful with my anxious cat.

Friendly and helpful staff, walk in only, so could be busier on Mondays, but I've never had to wait a really long time to be seen.

Amazing vets! When my cat broke his leg the vets gave us honest feedback and not just the most expensive solution. They understood my pain.

This is hands down the best veterinary services, veterinarians, and staff you will find in Johnson County. Knowledgeable and caring, their expertise is remarkable, and they always explain clearly what's going on with your pet and what's needed to resolve it in the most cost-effective way. I wouldn't take our pets anywhere else.

This is the only place I have brought my puppy to and it is great. It’s a walk in clinic so you can go whenever it is best for you and they get you in fast. It is pretty inexpensive as well and the veterinarian and front office staff are great!

We have taken our dogs to PVAH for the past 13 years. Very caring staff and the vets have always taken great care of our dogs. Compassionate, friendly, and always available to answer any questions we may have. We wouldn’t trust the care of our dogs to anyone else!!

Dr Wilcox is truly amazing. My dog had an infection that was not easy to diagnose. Dr Wilcox was patient and thorough in trying to figure out what was going on. She went above and beyond to resolve his issue. She kept me posted daily on how things were going and was not going to stop until she figured out the problem. He is home now and doing great! Dr Wilcox is extremely kind and you can tell she loves her job.

Dr. Daly is fantastic, he is great with my large breed dog. It's nice being able to walk right in and wait for the next doc available.
