Took our 1 year old cat who is in extreme pain in for emergency look. They charged over $600 for Xrays and blood work. Had us wait 3 days for pain pills and a referral. What a joke!

Dr is very friendly toward dogs. Dr. removed a stitch that never dissolved from another vet with no charge. Also, helped my dog with her stomach issues. Front desk was able to book my appointment first thing in the morning. Great staff, very clean, cute decor in patient rooms. ????

Excellent animal care here- cannot recommend highly enough. The vets are great and their office goes above and beyond for you. They have excellent medical care for the animals. I feel like when I call, that I get the red carpet treatment- they often are familiar with me/my animals. The staff there are lovely - the vet techs are great. Excellent customer service! They even promote free shelter exams and care package (if you adopt from shelter) too.

They're really helpful. They've taken good care of my cat, Emma. They've helped out with prescriptions, and they've done good boarding for her. Emma strongly recommends them.

I have been taking my pets to Cherokee for 28 years. These folks are THE BEST! They will get to know you and your pet like they are family. From the front desk to every tech, and every vet I have met there, I can only say thank you for your wonderful, professional, caring service.

I have used six different vets during different stages of my life with five dogs. My current vet is Dr Starr at VCA Cherokee Animal Hospital. I can’t say enough about how blessed I have been with all of the staff; from the front desk employees, the vet technicians, all of the vets and even our favorite groomer, Tori. My last two dogs were rescue dogs and Dr Starr and Tori always seemed to care so much for Harry and Lola. They actually looked forward to seeing Tori for their “spa days” and showed off their new hair styles with pride. It was a very sad day when I finally took my last dog, Lola to Dr Starr for her final visit. He held her with such gentle care and compassion during her final exam and explained every process that would take place in her journey to the Rainbow Bridge. It will be a while before I’m ready to adopt again but when I do I know where I’m going for their care. The best Vet Clinic in the Midwest!

My dog was very ill. The vet & staff were wonderful with her. They explained treatment options and answered all my questions & concerns.

We were provided compassionate and thorough treatment for my dog when I brought him in with mysterious pain symptoms. I'm confident the prescribed treatment will be effective. All staff was friendly, and used appropriate covid procedures. I recommend this vet, if you are considering them.

VCA Cherokee Animal hospital was accommodating in helping with a quick office visit and labs for our senior dog. Professional, clean and friendly.

My dog, Rollo isn't the friendliest to new people. Especially men. But this place has never made feel bad about it. They still try to love on him and tell him he's a good boy. I take Rollo for his annual vaccines and for boarding. They are the only place I trust to board Rollo with. I appreciate everything they do for my dog and making me feel at ease.

We have been seeing Dr. Starr for about 10 years now, with a cat and 2 generations of puppos. I can't say enough about how much we appreciate him. He genuinely cares for our pets, has always made us feel heard and not rushed. He is an excellent surgeon. He has gone above and beyond to help us through some of our most difficult pet-parent days. We drive 45 minutes to come see him now, and will continue to do so, without hesitation. I do not find his office costs too high, however I know that there are cheaper options locally. I strongly believe you get what you pay for, and the customer service, expertise, and genuine compassion is worth every penny.

Great support for pet owners

Took my pomeranian that has two broken toes on her back foot to get a groom. I was extremely nervous, but she really needed it! The staff listened to my concerns, which put me at ease. Very professional and when I came back for pick up my furbabe's cut was extremely cute and she smelt wonderful and didnt seem stressed out at all! I would highly recommend them. First time coming here and I'm impressed. Will be returning!

I like this animal hospital they would do anything to help you out

This place is AWESOME! My boyfriend took the pug to have his eyes looked at during this "Shelter in Place" order. He was blown away at how amazing the staff was and the level of care both the pug and he received. The vet was very thorough in explaining what we needed to do for his eyes. He also realized that we were over paying for his prescription. He is going to call some places and see that we get the best deal. We are excited to say that VCA Cherokee Animal Hospital is now our Sweet Rockne's new vet and we look forward to going back. Also just a side not- the prices for their services are very reasonable!

We have been going to VCA for about 5 years, maybe more. We have recieved amazing care for our cats. We started going with our older cats and have continued with our kittens. Our first Vet was amazing, Dr. Contras, who retired. Now, we see Dr. Starr, Dr. Mike and Dr. Mercer all of whom do a great job taking care of or loved ones. Before any procedures, x-rays or shots, all costs are explained and approved by us prior to anything being done. I know owning pets can get expensive, and the care they need isn't cheap, but I appreciate never having been surprised by additional fees or unexplained costs. Their open, honest communication and the compassion of whole staff has kept us coming back and will keep us going in the future.

I've been coming to Cherokee Animal Clinic for years, through my parents when I was a kid and during my adult years. They have always been the best at taking care of my dogs. Dr. Starr is incredible. He helped me get through a difficult time with my previous dog (who passed away in December '19) who went through seizures and a torn ACL. He was very responsive through text messages when I had questions and recommended a very good place to take care of the ACL tear. Without that recommendation (Basehor Animal Clinic), my buddy would've had a much more difficult ending to his life. And when it came time where I had to make the difficult decision to put him down, I was an absolute emotional wreck and Dr. Starr's compassion and understanding was very appreciated. My parents were with me and he told all of us that the dogs in our family are very lucky to have us. I ended up adopting a new dog recently and Dr. Starr was very good with the initial diagnosis and talked to me about returning to the shelter to address some medical issues. With his ammo I was able to get that shelter to take care of everything. Cherokee probably isn't the most cost effective solution, but when it comes to quality care I'm convinced there isn't anyone that can beat them. I'm excited to continue taking my newly adopted pup here for years to come.

I have been going to this veterinarian for 45 years and I love it, I can't imagine taking my animals anywhere else.They're wonderful with our pets. Love them! Very knowledgeable and kind with my pets. They listen to what I have to say about the animals' condition and don't push medicine unnecessarily.

We took our dogs in for an emergency visit The vets were incredibly friendly, courteous, careful with our beloved pups, and very attentive. They listened to what we had to say, did all of the appropriate tests, and sent us home with an amazing & comprehensive treatment plan. 10/10 experience

Like many vet clinics, the doctors on staff turnover rather frequently. However, everyone we have come into contact with at Cherokee have been tremendously helpful, understanding, and most importantly, EXCELLENT with animals. They all handle my precious pet like they would their own, the compassion is there. I still give them 5 stars even though they rarely tend to tell me upfront how much a treatment or medicine might cost. Yes, I'm willing to try anything to enhance quality of life for an aging animal who is also my best friend- - but please, Vets, just be transparent with pricing so I don't walk away feeling a little bit like we just spoke to a car salesperson.

I think Cherokee is the best vet clinic in town. Dr. Stenstrom and all the other doctors are gentle and will do everything they can to help your animal. Super friendly staff as well. Definitely recommend taking your loved ones there!
