Candlewood Veterinary Clinic Manhattan, Kansas

We moved to the area about a year ago and we're so glad we found candlewood! Everyone is always so kind and they are so great with our high energy (and sometimes unruly) dog, Ozy. They are always able to get him in right away and are very thorough when explaining what is going on with our pup. Prices are very reasonable as well!

Both Dr. Grieves and Dr. White have provided care to my beloved cat, and each has always done an outstanding job. My cat has had a few emergencies over the past two years, and I have never doubted that he is receiving the best care available to him. They are willing to explain everything going on, the treatment options available, and the office staff does an amazing job of checking in on him as he recovers. My cat has been a patient of Candlewood Vet for the past nine years, and he will continue to be due to their exceptional service.

Dr. Grieves and the Candlewood Vet team are top notch. They go above and beyond to care for our dog. Always easy to communicate with, knowledgeable, and their services are fairly priced. Can't recommend them enough!

I was recommended because I heard the original Vet was great. He retired and our dog saw the new owner. We had multiple encounters and I can’t find much to say that is nice. They over charge and upsell you at every appt. The front desk staff was rude and asked me on one occasion if I needed to consult my husband before treating our dog and another time asked if I needed to speak with him about a payment. We both are capable of making decisions and paying for the bill, especially if we are going with what “the Vet recommended”. My biggest complaint is the vet is not thorough and missed something that turned into an extreme illness that she stated would require our dog to go under anesthesia to treat. We transferred care and never needed anesthesia. Please use a different provider for your pet!

We LOVE this vet clinic. It's very obvious that they genuinely care about the animals' health and well-being at this clinic. They'll make courtesy follow-up calls regarding their patients too. We have a dog and two cats. One of our cats had a urinary tract infection and was seen by Dr. Lyons. I called a couple of weeks later to make an appt for our dog, and they asked about how our cat is doing. This is the best vet office in Manhattan!

Had an emergency with my dog, and after calling 5 other vets, they were the only ones who offered to help. They penciled us in between 2 appointments and were very nice and so helpful. Can't say enough about them, great people!

I moved out of Manhattan awhile ago, and losing them was one of the worst things about leaving! They also went above and beyond to contact me to ensure my cat stayed up-to-date on his rabies vaccines, which is far above what you'd expect any clinic to do! I would recommend them to everyone I know in the area!

Dr. Lyons and the staff at Candlewood have cared for multiple pets for us over three decades with amazing TLC. Sorry to hear Dr. Lyons has sold the clinic, but so happy for him as he looks forward to his upcoming retirement. It's well deserved!

Lovely staff. Listened to my concerns and made sure I knew what was going on.

The inside of the clinic is uncomfortable and doesn't feel welcoming, however the new vet standing in for the one on maternity leave is great! She was cheery, kind, and I really liked her and how she interacted with the dogs. Environment/atmosphere aside, the professional care is what matters.

I've known Dr. Lyons & Peggy for 8 years. I have also worked at the clinic for them off and on during that time period. With absolute certainty, I can say John & Peggy's expertise and passion for what they do is a rare find in most businesses these days. I owned one pet with a rare condition that Dr. Lyons diagnosed very quickly. Because of his condition, he didn't live long, and one of the few things that got me through that time period was the guidance and advice of Dr. Lyons & Peggy & their words of wisdom from years of experience. I can also say that after watching Dr. Lyons & Peggy "behind the scenes" (via working for them), that the animals aren't just "patients" to them. They work very hard to build relationships with their clients and treat them more like family. Their quality of care goes above & beyond what most people will ever realize, and I am very fortunate to have them to care for my pets and to have them as employers. Their passion is unmatched, and I'd recommend them to anyone. Additionally, the employees there are amazing & work very hard.

Stop listening to bad rumors! We were told the clinic had changed and to switch. We have been here for years and decided to stay for our last visit. Then our dog got sick and we had to go for much more. The care is always 100%. Doctors recommendations are slightly different but it’s helped our dogs anxiety and we have had the staff work with us way more. The staff Here are thorough and tell it like it is. We will not leave this clinic and will tell this to everyone!

The staff take great care of your pets. There's so much love for animals with everyone. My dogs don't "love" going but they feel safe enough to put up with a visit. :)
