Lakewood Animal Health Center Lee's Summit, Kansas

They seem to have high prices for generic medications (like 4x cost of the same drug for humans), but otherwise I'm really pleased. They recognized our dog's critical condition and worked us into the schedule as needed. They've been very supportive of our choices as we navigated a very rare and life-threatening disease in our dog, where other vet offices scolded us for trying to keep our dog alive. We had very collaborative discussions with the vet about treatment plans, even when we wanted to take a different direction. They've given us an open invitation to bring our dog in for basic recurring treatment (IV fluids) at our own discretion, which is nice because it's cheaper than paying to see the doctor every single time.

I Love Lakewood Animal Hospital, from making my appointment to bringing Foxy in, it's always a seamless. My Foxy anxiety, but they are always kind to her and makes her feel at ease.

Absolutely the best veterinarians and staff!!! Everyone there is all about taking the best possible care of your pet! We have taken our dogs here for years and have seen all the veterinarians. Each one is knowledgeable and caring. Both our dogs have had simple check up visits, surgery, and everything in between and for every visit, no matter the situation, they take excellent care of us all. Dr. Eyler and the staff took our dachshund off the surgery table and to the shelter room with them when a tornado came close by and sirens were going off. Again, I highly recommend them and appreciate the veterinarians and all of the staff!!

Lakewood Animal Health Center has been the best decision I ever made for my dog. The quality of care and service is exceptional. Update: I've now met Dr. Golladay, Dr. Dyer, and Dr. Eyler through vet appointments for my dog and my girlfriends dogs. They have all impressed me beyond belief. The level of care given, the willingness to answer questions and work with you, and the supporting staff of vet techs, receptionists, and vet assistants have all been stellar and I could not recommend enough. I'm honestly worried that I will move and never be able to find a vet that meets the standard set by Lakewood.

Have dog groomed. Did very nice job. Dental work not as well. Dog became agressive after surgery & will not let his mouth be touched.

Dr. Eyler & the whole Lakewood team are amazing! She is so kind and was very compassionate. She did an amazing job with my furkitty, Precious. Everyone at Lakewood are very attentive not only to your furbaby but to your concerns. They are very thorough and not only treat the existing concern, but give you health recommendations for future visits. The vets & staff are all friendly, personable, knowledgeable, and very caring & kind. I wholeheartedly recommend Lakewood to anyone looking for an excellent vet's office.

I was visiting family and my dog got himself in an accident and needed a cast on his leg. They were completely booked for the day but they still managed to fit my dog in the schedule. On top of that, I never felt rushed and they took the time to explain what I needed to when I got home. It was much cheaper than I expected and they went above and beyond for me. The staff is amazing.

I have been coming here for many years. All the employees are super nice and friendly.

Absolutely fantastic group of veterinarians with up to date treatments, minor surgery and a beauty salon to bring out the best in your canine children. They also offer day care and boarding with ongoing health supervision. The staff is outstanding being both knowledgeable and caring. We have been going there for many years and could not be more happy with the care our canine children receive.

My dog had a eye issue on a Saturday afternoon. The staff kindly squeezed us in for a drop-off appointment. They spent a good deal of time examining and diagnosing possible causes. The vet came up with a treatment plan and offered information to guide us if the issue worsened. I’m happy to report all is well and I am thrilled with the quality and kindness of the service we received.

I really wanted to love this place. It’s clean. It’s convenient. They offer multiple services in one location. The front office staff is fantastic. However, I’ve been there 3 different times and been made to feel like everything I do is wrong. Even to the point that i was flat out told by Dr Golliday that i wasn’t being a good pet owner because I refused to kennel my puppy 24/7 after an injury. She is a very very chill dog who doesn’t run or jump and just wants to spend her days glued to her people. Didn’t take into consideration the personality or temperament of the dog when factoring in the best care for a long term problem. She insisted i was irresponsible because i didn’t have almost $300 for follow up xrays when clearly the pup was having NO issues and they wouldn't re-break her leg even if the X-ray DID show an issue. This was after a $5000 surgery!! The final straw for me in deciding that a love of pets just isn’t there for this Dr was when they muzzled my Husky for her vaccines and checkup because they have a table that is in need of repair and is loud so when she got startled by the loud noise of the table she barked. At the table...not to mention hat for my 3 rescue dogs it cost me $544 for checkups and routine vaccines, with two more for each supposedly needed at a later date. You could put your entire head in her mouth covered in steak and she wouldn’t bite you. It’s just not in her temperament. Did i mention that when i kenneled my dogs there they were forced to separate (when they are together 24/7 even sharing a bed at night cause they are BFF’s), and flagged as “vicious” because their play was rough??!! Do they know ANYTHING about dogs?? EDIT: After speaking to Dr Golladay I feel better about my experiences there. I feel like we could develop a working relationship and that my dogs would benefit greatly from her care. I appreciated that she reached out to me to resolve this issue.

This is my vet and also where my boy goes to stay when I leave town. He is a 65 pound high energy dog that does not get along with every dog. He has stayed with them a few times and they love him there. The first time I took him in, he cried when I left. The last time I dropped him off, he couldn't wait to play with the staff and just left me sstanding there. The doctors and vet staff are caring and knowledgable. The front office ladies are awesome and the building is comfortable and clean. This is definitely my vet for years to come and should be yours too.

We love Lakewood animal health! Best care we have received for our pets! Staff is always available to answer questions when we call for any concerns about our dogs health and they spend ample time with us in each visit to the vet! Amazing staff, they take the time to listen to your concerns regarding your pet. They follow up with phone calls to inquire how your pet is doing. Genuinely care about your pet.

They were all nice and pretty cheap, but I have to warn you THERE IS NO ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET, UNLIKE WHAT MY IDIOT FRIEND WARREN TOLD ME

The best staff and care! Love this animal hospital, as much as possible anyway....

Might be a good clinic, don't know. Wanted to bring our dog in for help, but were told it would be around $500 to just get in the door. Don't know what all that would cover, if anything but the initial visit. Reminds me of that disaster of an emergency clinic on Ralph Powell Rd in Lee's Summit. Might be the best vet in town, if money is no object.

From the front desk, to the technician to the vet, these people truly care about your pet! I never feel rushed or blown off even when my worries are silly! Going to the vet is expensive, but the people at Lakewood seem to understand and take great care to ensure you understand and are comfortable with findings before you leave. They entire staff plays a role and they are all wonderful and helpful!

Excellent, expert care, and a great facility. We were satisfied that our dog received a thorough diagnosis and Dr. Dyer explained all of our treatment options, care routines, and took time to make sure we had all of questions answered satisfactorily. Staff is super friendly and kind!
