Excellent clinic. Everyone is friendly and professional and will respond to emails, messages through the app and of course, phone calls. They will do all they can to get you an appointment when you need it. It was a big decision, but I switched clinics this year for my senior dogs and I am so glad I did. Dr. Amend and her staff are wonderful to work with and it is apparent that they really love animals and have their best interest at heart. Dr. A will suggest tests if she really thinks they are necessary and helpful, but won't bog you down with tests just to do them. They are thorough and give you all the time you need to talk about their condition, etc. My dog is now on a medication regimen for her Cushings, heart and pain issues which has helped her so much. Additionally, she and her staff have been wonderful about discussing end of life issues with me, which has been incredibly helpful. They always get back to me about any question I might have (and I have bothered them a lot!) My pets mean so much to me, and I am so glad I was referred to this clinic. Can't say enough good things about them!

I highly recommend Wakarusa Vet for any cat parents out there! Friendly staff, reliable services, and fair pricing. They even helped us out when one of our kitties was feeling ill, got him in on an emergency visit and helped him get back to normal in no time. They show true compassion for the animals they care for.

Dr Rowland and staff are the greatest people I've ever met. They take such good care of our problematic dogs and seem to really care about their well-being. They are extremely accommodating and flexible. I will continue going here for as long as I live in Lawrence!

This is not my personal experience but the experience of family members who are too nice to leave a bad review. My family member's dog was experiencing a severe allergic reaction including dilated eyes, and a swollen face, and felt the threat of the possibility of their dog's throat closing up while seeking care. They called this hospital looking for assistance and the lady who answered told them (in a tone that was perceived as someone who just didn't want to deal with it) that the office was too full to see any other dogs and they would have to drive their dog from Lawrence to KC. That was incredibly careless and could have resulted in the death of a canine family member.

They were very nice and caring. It was a good experience during a stressful time and helped me feel my concerns about our older cat would be addressed. Polite and professional from the person who answered my phone call to the verterenarian who gave their prognosis.

Dr. Rowland is amazing at what she does. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They take great care of my pets. Whether it's just a routine check up or something very serious, they are awesome. I'm truly grateful for Wakarusa Veterinary Hospital thank you for all that you do.

I am so glad I brought my dog to this clinic! They were so kind and welcoming to her even from our cars. The doctor even called me on the phone and had a 10+ minute conversation with me about my dog and her health, I don’t think I’ve ever had someone care for my pup like that. I absolutely love this veterinarian clinic. I live an hour away and still take my animals to them. They are compassionate and really work hard for you and your fur baby. I will always take my animals to them.

Sent my dogs shots in and they kept calling and emailing me about it even though I sent them in! Also didn’t see my dog for all the things I asked them to and couldn’t go in due to Covid-19, although the fee for vet visit is cheap Iran not worth it because I still have to take him to another vet because they didn’t check out all the concerns I mentioned! SAVE YOUR TIME AND DO NOT GO HERE!!

Dr. Roland and the entire staff at Wakarusa Veterinary Clinic have been absolutely amazing in the care they provide for our pets. Dr. Roland cares for our animals as if they were her own. The front desk staff are always happy and extremely accommodating. We love going here and highly recommend them!

Amazing animal hospital. Probably the best in town. The people here care for the animals and take care of them during procedures. They inform you about what there doing.

I took both of my cats there for the first time today and really enjoyed my experience. Appointments are curb side only, but communication with the staff was quick, easy and everyone has been a pleasure to talk to and work with throughout the experience. The vet called to go over their visit and were awesome. I felt like I got answers to my concerns and they genuinely seem to care about their well being! I will definitely bring them back!

We've been taking our pets here for over 20 years. They've always done an excellent job with standard checkups, bording & even surgeries. Their staff is very friendly & love all types of animals. I highly recommend them.

Updated review after several incidents with my puppy: I never really understood when people said they had a specific vet they liked going to; that is until I had an appointment with Dr. Amend. Hands down the best vet I have ever went to, has helped tremendously with my puppy who has had a few problems in the last month. She has saved me from having to go to the emergency vet and paying hundreds of dollars, being able to bring my puppy into her care when she has been sick has been relieving knowing she's in good hands. I honestly can't say enough good things about her and will continue to use her as my primary vet while I'm in Lawrence. The vet techs that work here are also hands down some of the friendliest people and make the process of going to the vet a little less stressful.
