Clinton Parkway Animal Hospital has been our family's vet for more than 20 years. Their expertise, kindness and caring is unmatched. They have literally 'saved the lives' of our pets in dire situations (emergency surgeries & cancer treatment) as well as provided care for the little things (shots, meds, teeth, nails, etc.). They've also been there to help us - help our pets cross the Rainbow Bridge, peacefully - when it was time. They will not be the cheapest animal hospital or veterinary care. But they are one of the best animal hospitals and provide unmatched veterinary care. Our dog would not be alive today - without them.

I was unable to leave work for the appointment, so they let my boyfriend call me and put me on speaker so that I could take part in our newly adopted furry baby's first vet visit. Dr. Rhiannon was very thoughtful during the visit and continued to include me in the visit's conversation even though I wasn't physically present. This made me feel very confident about the care our furbaby receives here. I was really late getting her fecal sample to them due to work hours and getting a fresh sample, yet they didn't scold me or make me feel like a lesser furbaby parent. They even called me the very next day with results. I feel we are respected here as much as our kitty.

UPDATE: 1/19/2022 I have updated my review to 4 stars because Dr. Tom Liebl- The hospital director and owner called me to personally apologize for phone conversation that occurred resulting in time taking my furbaby to another clinic to be treated for roundworms. I have never had a doctor apologize to me before so his actions speaks volumes about the core values of their hospital as well as the culture that they strive to cultivate within their hospital. I am very appreciative that Dr. Leibl took responsibility for his staffs mistake and is working to address the issue so that It hopefully does not occur again. I can see now why CPAH has been a top provider for veterinary care services for the Lawrence community. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I really wanted to love this Veterinary Clinic. As a RVT in both NM and KS and over 10 years of working at various clinics in the private, corporate, relief and rehabilitation, as well as working in the Cardiology department of the Veterinary school at Kansas State-I can say that I have never experienced such poor customer service in my life. When we moved to Lawrence from Oklahoma, I chose this clinic for our Fur baby who has a congenital heart defect (that I assisted in surgically repairing as well as treating her for heart-worm infection that she picked up prior to us adopting her) because of the raving reviews for Dr Harris. Dr Harris, was absolutely phenomenal. If you are reading this review and decide to still go to the clinic, I recommend Dr. Harris. She was very professional, thorough, relatable, and kind. The veterinary nurses working with Dr. Harris at the time were very thoughtful and knowledgeable as well. Unfortunately, the receptionist customer service and the hospital policy surrounding new pet drop offs is lacking. I understand not wanting to take new pets because there may be an issue regarding finances at pick up- I’ve seen it all so I get it. However, if someone has brought their other fur baby and paid top dollar for all the recommended veterinary services. If that client is calling in about a puppy who is sick and they would like to bring them in a week prior to their scheduled new puppy appointment. Let them drop off with a deposit of the recommended treatment plan total. I would also like to note I called in right at 7am when they opened. This was not an end of day drop off. Rather a new client looking to a veterinary clinic that they are wanting to build a life long client-patient-veterinary relationship with. Unfortunately after this experience we will be looking into a different veterinary clinic for our 3 fur babies. Thankfully we were able to find another clinic in town to treat our tiniest family member. 5 stars for Dr. Harris. 2 stars for the outdated hospital policy and poorly trained receptionist who recommended I got to a feed store to purchase dewormer for my puppy. I’m sorry but I have never been given the absolute worst veterinary care advice in my life. Please consider retraining all your front of the house staff in proper triage or at least teach them to put the phone on hold and have a properly trained veterinary nurse speak to clients about medical questions and concerns.

Dr Reina has always been so wonderful and kind with my animals. Buster had a bad sore from scratching and she was able to clean it up and give him some medicine. She doesn’t do what isn’t necessary. I’m so thankful to have her as our doctor .

We moved to the area a few months ago and have been so impressed with CPAH! Our dog had an unusual episode on a busy Monday and CPAH got us in right away, kept us updated while we waited curbside, and took the best care of our dog. He’s doing great!

Appreciate the excellent service we always receive when dealing with Clinton Parkway Animal Hospital. Dr. Lyon has been extremely helpful with Churchill. We are thankful in having her assistance throughout the many problems that have arisen with our fur babies.

I have nothing but good things to say about CPAH. They are always friendly and understanding and have gone the extra mile to treat pets safely amid the pandemic. We have seen several of the vets and they are all knowledgeable and thorough, and make sure to answer all my questions.

Our dog, Cocoa, has been under the care of Dr. Liebl at Clinton Parkway Animal hospital for her six years of age and we give them the highest rating possible. Dr. Liebl is the best!

We recently noticed our Morkie bumping into things. He’d been diagnosed with diabetes at a previous veterinarian service, but we weren’t getting advice for food, insulin injections and the rapid weight loss our dog was experiencing. We feel secure he’s getting the treatment he needs now that we’ve made the switch to Clinton Animal Parkway. I really appreciate the time spent explaining Buster’s condition. And it’s good to know he might be a candidate for cataract surgery.

Best place to take your fur babies! We will be forever grateful for their love and gentleness while we had to say our goodbyes till we meet again at the rainbow bridge. #mishka #sakima #kelm21

It’s always easy to grumble about prices and nitpick at methods of communication when it comes to health care of any kind, but Clinton Parkway Animal Hospital really has some wonderful staff who care quite a lot about your animal.

I love the service I receive every time I take one of my dogs into the office to see Dr. Harris! All of my questions are answered and they help with every aspect of taking care and training a dog. They are a little on the expensive side, but honestly I never have to worry that my dog isn’t being taken care of. They have a FREE 24 hour emergency line which is a godsend if you freak out and need reassurance (like I do). Thank you to all the staff and Dr. Harris for her dedication to the well being of my dogs. Bea and Yona thank you too! :)

Asking me to muzzle myself to treat my sick cat isn't treating anyone with compassion. You are not fulfilling your mission.

What a wonderful place this is. I took my dog J Hawk in he's fifteen years old and a diabetic. He wasn't doing well and I had to put him down. The compassion by the doctor and the staff was amazing. I was a mess and have been having financial troubles lately. They never once asked for the money. I've never been to a vet that didn't ask for the money first even when I had to put my last dog to sleep. I will never go anywhere else. Thank you dr. Harris and your wonderful staff

Some of the people here are very kind and compassionate when it comes to putting an animal down. We recently put our yellow Labrador down and I gave her a stuffed animal that she had chewed on as a puppy since I was unable to go in with her before she passed due to covid. That stuffed animal was very close to my heart, very precious, and very valuable to me. These people lost it and cannot seem to find it for the life of them. My guardian talked to one of the receptionists about it over the phone and she was very rude about informing me that they had lost the stuffed animal that got to spend the last few moments with my dog. I am furious and broken inside. Very disappointed.

I love the team at Clinton Parkway Animal hospital. They take excellent care of my furry family members, from checkups, illness and end-of-life care. Everyone there has a tremendous sense of compassion. If you are searching for an amazing vet, this is the place for you.

We have used Clinton Parkway Animal Hospital for our pet needs since adopting our first four-legged furbaby. Dr. Lyon has been there for us through illnesses, broken toes and injuries. I can't say enough great things about the knowledge, care and love has given our pups. We trust her immensely!

I don't know what I would have done without their help and ability to get me in when my house had filled with smoke. My animals needed to be checked over. Their caring was much appreciated

As the Fourth of July came closer I reached out and asked for a prescription for my dog since she is terrified of loud noises. This is a known issue with her as they prescribed something for her last year. I was told it’s illegal to prescribe meds to a pet they haven’t seen in a year. No alternative measures and no helpful tips. Where’s the compassion? Covid has wrecked many lives including mine. Our medical policies have changed and relaxed because of covid. I was just told to schedule an appointment when I’m financially ready to which I responded no thank you please take me off your client list. To which I never received a reply just crickets. I didn’t see anywhere on the statues that a vet has to see a pet within any length of time to prescribe meds. I did see that in order for a vet to prescribe meds there must be a vet/client relationship thats established. I feel like my dog suffered due to lack of compassion. What happened to an animals well being is more important than the bottom line? I’m not a perfect mom I do the best with what I get dealt but this was absolutely unacceptable.

Great people, great service. They really care about your furry children. Wouldn't chose anyone else to take care of my precious Bentley.

In the past this was the best vet. I loved Dr. Olsen and Dr. Leible and the staff. They took great care of my animals for more than 20 years. I am sorry to say it has changed. My sister and her dog were here from Texas. Her vet in Texas called the Clinton parkway vet pharmacy to fill a prescription that was needed. They refused. They said they had not done an examination and would not accept the perscription for filling from this licensed veterinarian. That is not the caring vet clinic I will use in the future. My sister had also boarded her dog at Clinton parkway several times in the past so they did have a relationship.

Incredible vet service. Have been going to Dr. Tom for about 25 years. He is great with my dogs, very knowledgeable vet and excellent surgeon, I would not take my dogs anywhere else.

Going to CPAH is like belonging to a special family. The support given creates confidence through trusting relationships that prevent the difficulties sometimes seen at other clinics. Every patient is adored. CPAH runs like a well-oiled machine for a lot of reasons but at the heart of their success is a genuine, effusive love of animals. I am lucky to have access to the quality of care that is provided at CPAH.

I was referred to Clinton Animal Hospital by a colleague. They not only took care of my baby Ginger but also took care of me. They kept me constantly updated regarding her care putting my mind at ease. The staff and Dr. Liebl were amazing. There gentle loving nature made me really appreciate finding somewhere safe and nurturing to care for my fur baby. I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks for being so amazing!!
