The Barking Lot Urbandale, Iowa

I have a very Hairy German Shepherd. Kayla did a great job of making sure she gets brushed before bathing and removing as much fur as safely as possible. She does a great job trimming up around her sanitary areas and under belly. Definitely not the cheapest place in town, but I like the way my pup is treated at the facility.

Trisha is always welcoming. My dog lights up when he seed her and that shows me he is in great hands for a fantastic haircut@

Best of everything for caring for your dog. Good grooming, good boarding. If you have a herding dog with lots of fur, get a grooming with Helena, she knows how to handle herding dogs, she has a lot of them.

We just got our dog back today from grooming and he looks awesome as always. We asked for his hair to be cut shorter this time, but not buzzed. They did a perfect job. We have tried to do this haircut on him at home, but it doesn’t look even after we do it and we can’t get his hair so incredibly soft like they do. Thanks so much for being the #1 dog grooming and boarding for our family!

Our German Shepherd Embassy does very well here when we are traveling. He has made a couple of friends over the years. When we first started taking him there he couldn't be around other dogs. Now he has play time with several dogs. That means the world to us.

Helena does a great job grooming our two schnauzers. Would highly recommend to anyone.

We have been taking our dog to Melissa and her amazing staff at the Barking Lot for 2 years now and LOVE it! From puppy training, weekly doggie daycare, grooming and boarding for vacations, they do it all and our dog is always excited and happy as well!

The Barking Lot is amazing!! They are so thoughtful and knowledgeable about all pets! Things I never even knew! Melissa runs her business in a very efficient manner. I have had many friends who have been recommended there and love it. I will continue to keep bringing my dog there for playtime and bathing!

First time visiting The Barking Lot. Staff was friendly and well-prepared. The grooming services are a bit steep, but they did a fantastic job with my dog, who gets nervous in almost any setting other than being at home.

My little Haley loves going here. Gets so excited to see her groomer. They treat the animals like their own. They take great care in making sure fur babies are comfortable and happy.

This place is busy! We have been taking our Wheaten Terrier there for 3 years and I've always had a good experience. You must book your appointment 2 to 3 months in advance.

Have been taking my dog here for grooming every 10 weeks since 2013 and have always had a positive experience. Helena is an excellent groomer and always asks questions to ensure our dog looks how we want. Have also used their boarding services once in summer 2018 with another positive experience. We don't board our dog often but we'll continue to use Barking Lot in the future.

My husband and I boarded our dogs here for a week while we were on our honeymoon. We loved how friendly everyone was when we dropped the dogs off and it was so great to have them text us photos of them playing while we were gone. We missed them but we felt so much better knowing they were somewhere that would give them quality attention. One of our dogs is old and blind and I was worried that he wouldn't be treated kindly at other places because he's very timid and stubborn in unfamiliar surroundings...he did wonderful though here and they were very patient with him. We will definitely bring them back here the next time we go out of town.

They are very good at what they do. Every groomer treats the dogs as if they were their own. Wouldn't go anywhere else.
