We have taken our 5 animals over the course of many years to this clinic. Dr. Prescott is AMAZING! She is so knowledgeable and truly cares about each and every animal and their owners. Can't recommend enough!!

If you are looking for a new vet on the west end, Dr. Siegel is the absolute best.

Dr. Prescott was incredibly friendly and helpful with new dog owner advice. The vet tech was also very nice and helpful, and so was the front desk lady. Price was reasonable and the new dog owner packet was very informative. I'm not living in the area, was visiting family, but if I did live in Des Moines they'd be my full time vet.

I've been taking my puppy to Heartland Animal Hospital for almost a year now and have always had a great experience. They are very responsive and even have text messaging options to get advice and ask questions. The staff are knowledgeable and absolutely love my dog. He gets excited every time we pull into the parking lot. They go above and beyond to make sure he is taken care of and my questions are answered. They do all of this for some of the most reasonable prices I've ever had from a vet, and they're willing to provide coupons and rebate codes to make it even more affordable. By far the best vet's office I've ever experienced.

I called this Vet to get my dog in on a very short notice. They are not our normal vet and still were able to set an appointment, although I had to cancel said appointment and go to Emergency Vet instead. The gesture was much appreciated and the lady I spoke with was very nice. Thank you.

A perfect example are the protocols put in place to ensure our safety as well as their own during Covid. I absolutely love Heartland Animal Hospital! A coworker of mine recommended them for my pup’s care and I have been blown away since day 1. They’re super easy and flexible to work with and really put the animals first. I’ve recommended them to friends who are just as impressed as I am! I love when the vet tech remembers my dog when we come! I also love that they send home report cards when they see the vet! I cannot rave enough about Heartland. They’re amazing.

Always very professional and friendly on the phone. Pet owners have to stay outside due to COVID, but the staff is very reassuring when they're taking your fur baby inside, and the vet calls quickly to keep you in the loop. They take great care of cats!

I have been taking my cat to Heartland Animal Hospital for many years. They are caring and friendly to my fur baby. During the pandemic, they have the lobby closed but will come out to the car and get your pet and the doctor will call you with updates. I appreciate they are taking proper precautions to keep the staff and community safe during covid-19!

I’ve been taking my dogs to Heartland for ten years. Over the course of the last decade, I’ve gotten to know the staff very well. Please believe me when I tell you - you will not find a more compassionate, kind, brilliant, and affordable practice. As my corgi started to age, he experienced some health issues. They would always squeeze me in to see him, and were so kind and empathetic when explaining treatment plans. I’ve never felt rushed. They’ve always stayed in the room and answered any and all questions I may have had. Most importantly, they were always honest and never tried to sell me unnecessary meds, procedures, or pet food. When it was time for my beloved friend to cross over the rainbow bridge, Dr. Edel sat and cried with me. The clinic sent me a flower afterwards. They offer pet care packages where you pay every month and have unlimited free visits, most routine/preventative care like shots and annual bloodwork are covered, and discounts on food and medication. This has allowed me to better budget the needs of both dogs. And, when one of them has an issue, I’ll just pop in for a quick checkup. I can’t recommend this place enough. The staff are honest, compassionate, kind, personable, and incredibly smart. But like I said earlier, they’re always honest an upfront. 1000/10 would recommend. TLDR: this place is literally the best. The staff is unparalleled
