Such helpful and caring experts! I wasn't sure if my dog needed emergency care. They kindly took a quick look and gave us the go ahead to go home with some instructions and reassurance. The community is fortunate to have this clinic and their terrific team.

Had to rush my cat here at 3 AM one Sunday morning in January 2022 when his breathing continued to decline after getting meds from our normal vet. I live down in the Iowa City area and now that the one last local emergency vet does not offer 24/7 service anymore, I was a little worried about needing to drive so far. Even though it ended up being the bad news as we expected, they took wonderful care of him and the vet took her time to fully explain our options. The cost just to be seen is $125, and then I felt all exams after that were compatible to normal vet prices (X-ray was around $275 for 2 photos which our vet quoted us $200 for X-ray plus around 50-100 for sedative). They did quote us somewhere around 1.3K-3K for the tests we needed done following the X-Ray and when asked, gave us an itemized list of what the costs were from. As we declined some of the more extensive tests (cancer diagnosis) and were fortunate he was stable enough to take him home to say good bye right after getting blood drawn him around his lungs, we only ended up with a bill total of around $650. Just to note - they did let us come in and stay in a room as I saw some comments saying they don't let you in - but I'm not sure if that was only because it was so late and below freezing temps outside and he was an emergency case.

They've helped us with emergencies for two of our parrots, one of which was potentially life-threatening. I wish they were closer! They do a great job!

Unfortunately, I have had to take both of my dogs here for different medical issues. They are there for you in an emergency. The care that they take for your animal is as if they they are treating their own pet. I so appreciate that the staff is friendly, concerned, communicative, and the doctors are excellent at explaining things in detail so that you can understand the treatment plan for your pet. Recently I had to take my puppy here for a serious health condition, and the care I received for him was phenomenal. It comforts me that at least during an emergency I know I can count on these wonderful people to help my fur babies.❤

Had to bring in my boy Prince in the wee hours of Christmas Eve..... They were kind, compassionate and thorough with his care, and 1.5 days of medicine, and he's already showing improvement! They were also very thorough with his intake and discharge instructions, and were easy to read and follow. Bonus points for them notifying his regular vet! The ONLY thing they could do to improve is provide electronic patient portals so you have an electronic record as well, like Mercy has with mychart. Otherwise, I am over the moon satisfied with the care that we received. Not gonna lie.... Pricey, but it's an animal ER and it's an equitable experience when humans go to the ER. BUT WORTH IT.

All the staff were amazing; they made sure to put me at ease when I brought my cat in for emergency treatment. My cat is healthy and happy now. If I ever need emergency treatment for either of my cats in the future I will definitely head to BluePearl.

Thankful for their availability in the off-hours. Friendly service. Signs are posted that ask for your patience; necessary for the various tests they may have to check through for your pet.

Terrible. I had left my guinea pig with them to get him cremated, and never received a call letting me know when his remains were ready. When I called in for an update the only thing they wanted to talk about was a "missed payment" from a week prior. That I know I didn't miss because I have the bank record to prove the payment. I had to hang up and call in a second time just to figure out that my little baby's remains were infact ready for me to pick up.

We Brought are sweet kitty in there we waited 4 hours and most of that time they did nothing. He had a bladder issue they figured out when we got him back he had blood all over him and they didn’t give him any pain meds for a 30 min ride home.This is are family member you taking care of this is Ridiculous paid 385. For bad care !

Last night around 10 PM, we tried to take our 13 year old cat to BluePearl because he'd insured his foot and wasn't able to walk. We pulled up and called the number on the door. They immediately cut us off and explained they were full and recommended we just observe the condition for a few days. They didn't even know what the condition was... it could have been his heart or any number of life threatening conditions. The lady hung up and walked over and locked the front door. We had to drive 40 mins with our cat in agony just to find someone to treat him. The BluePearl is the worst possible clinic. I couldn't be more disappointed. My recommendation is to avoid this place at all costs!

If I could give this place no stars I would! Waited over an hour for anyone to talk to us regarding our pet, then they started off telling us they didn't examine our pet when they took him back, however had a quote put together of $550-$900 for services we questioned the quote due to not looking at our pet. Once we tried seeing if we could pull the money together or what we should do we waited another hour and a half. Finally called a friend that works at a vet and was advised the quote was way over done and we should just get our pet into another vet first thing in the morning.

My visit did not have a good out come unfortunately but the staff here was very informative and comforting. The vet and staff explained all options that were possible and broke down all information so everything was easy to understand along with a estimate on how much every option would cost. Also they offer cremation services and take care of everything for you.

It appears this facility has changed ownership or management. In the past, I have been able to take dying pets to the hospital to be put to sleep. I have done this a couple times when the process is prolonged and the animal appears to be suffering. Today I took my elderly cat who is slowly dying and the hospital turned me down, not once but twice, without even doing as much as a visual examination of my cat. There were zero cars in the parking lot - belying their claim that they are too busy. I don’t know the motive for turning away a paying customer/patient but I am upset and I hope they do better in the future. To turn away a patient without even a cursory examination seems problematic, especially over a long holiday weekend when the cat will not be seen by his vet for 3 days. I am not pleased with the service I received today.

Service was top notch, I had a very urgent emergency, I didn't call ahead I was in the door only a matter of seconds before I had 4 people working on my dog, they moved fast and efficiently and we're more affordable that my regular get, an amazing team of workers, anyone who needs help will be happy to receive service here.
