I absolutely love and trust the team at Ankeny Animal Health Clinic. Dr. Danks and Dr. Vandenberg are so nice and make sure to follow up directly with me. They’re open and honest about the options I have when treating my pup, and the staff are always willing to answer questions. As a first time dog owner and going through some bumps, I fully trust this clinic with my dogs life and am so happy I chose them! Highly recommend.

We brought our dog Dimond once so far and they were Great with her, she is a black shepherd and very nervous at vets. Had to muzzle her but they did it with such care and still were as gentle as possible. Highly recommend this place, from the moment we got there till we left, very good experience.

Great price and they care

They know how to help care for cats. We went in with a kitty ear infection and the staff knew just what to do. They gave us a few options and some medicine and we were out quickly.

I’ve tried several different clinics in Ankeny but now I always take my boys to AAHC because the quality of care, helpful staff, and affordable prices. I feel like they actually care about my fur babies, it’s not all about the money. Definitely recommend if you need a caring and affordable veterinarian!! ????

My husband and I traveled from out of town to come to the Ankeny Animal Health Clinic as the reviews and word-of mouth were all extremely positive. We brought our two cats for a procedure and we couldn't be more pleased with the care given and overall professionalism from all of the staff. They were extremely COVID-safe and made sure our fur babies were taken great care of. Dr. Vandenberg did the procedure on both cats and they are both happy, healthy and healing quickly/nicely. He was very informative on how he was going to do the procedure and what the after care looked like. My husband and I would recommend this clinic to any animal lover.

Friendly, informative staff. Needed to board my pets here and, due to unforeseen circumstances, needed to extend their stay and it was no issue. The pets also go their checkup and the staff explained everything to us before doing it. Will come again for vet and boarding visits.

Always have confidence in vets and staff if bringing in one of my furry family members for routine check-up or when something's not going well. Have had the tough experience of saying goodbye to a couple of my furry family members. Their empathy and sensitivity is comforting.

This clinic is a joke for customer service. I called the receptionist after coming home to my husband letting me know they were rude, hardly looked at my cat, and gave a rabies shot with out getting approval because of her attitude. She was scared and they were holding here down. I understand this is what they have to do. But to say it’s because of her attitude is a little much. Instead I would have preferred they let us know she needs one and asked for permission. The receptionist let me know my husband had multiple opportunities to say no but in the next sentence said she wasn’t in the room so she is unsure of any exchanges made. She also told me my cat was aggressive so that’s they decided to do a shot (with out letting my husband know what was happening) and then told me next that they had to because the law. Very unprofessional to flip flop a story back and fourth instead of educating me or my as to why it may have been needed and then being more unprofessional on the phone when asked about this. I said I wanted to talk to whoever did this and let them know my concerns and was told it’s a part time tech. Since she’s only part time she can get ahold of me but just whenever she’s back and they weren’t sure when that would be. Again that’s fine to get ahold of me but how it was handed was on par with the rest of our experience there. They were friendly with my cat until she got scared and then the very quickly looked her over and guessed what was wrong with her (a very sudden lump) was as just fluid. I very much hope that’s the case but wish the $50 exam was more thorough. The unprofessionalism of the tech from which my husband experienced as well as my experience with the receptionist is uncalled for. We are scared for our fur baby and were treated wrong in a time that should have been educational and shown with empathy.

Neighbors dog bit my dog they stayed late to see her up no complaining that it was closing time. Very friendly and great care.

Priced better than all the places I called, and they were very loving and attentive to our dog.

My first visit. Great staff. Friendly and sincere. Dr was nice and very patient and acted as though he had all the time in the world for us. The office needs some major updates. No veterinarian clinic smells good, but this one is particularly smelly. I have a feeling it is not the cleanest, looking at the walls and floors. I still go here, though. If any of that changes, I will come back here and change my rating.

We've taken all 3 of our dogs here and we have nothing negative to say. Cost is very reasonable but the people are just absolutely amazing!
