It’s our neighborhood vet. We have a new hamster in the house and not all vets see them. We were referred here for our hamster and I am so glad we tried them. Super friendly staff. It’s not the most up-to-date spot but the staff are so good to your pets and their customers. We are transferring our other pet’s care here it was such a good experience.

This practice is the greatest. All of the staff are professional, kind and caring. They treat both me and my pet as family and their customer service is exceptional. Dr. Vaughn is wonderful. He has taken great pains to research the best methods for caring for my pet and comes up with new methods to best help her. It is without a doubt his interventions have kept my pet alive. I would recommend this practice to anyone who wants a good veterinary practice for their pet. I would never take my pet anywhere else.

The first time I took my newly adopted small dog for vet visit I got a quote in what it would cost to have her spayed, a fat tumor removed and dental work. It was over $600. I said I only had $500. He agreed to do it for that then later on in the day he called me and told me he did something else and it was going to be an addition $150. Well he already did it so what was I to do. Then I took her to get the stitches out and his hands were shaking so bad I thought he might have Parkinson’s. He then charged me for the follow up to take stitches out. I refused to pay. First grooming spot. Kevin was great. Second grooming spot price went up he was less than personable and commented on her crusty eyes. Well I work 50-60 hours a week I have 3 dogs that’s what I take her there for. $60 bucks and they ask u to include tip before they even bring her out. She was full of clipping and it got all over my shirt and my car and some of the mail clippings were hanging off. And no bows. I’m going back to Petsmart for $45.

I took my cat to Stonfield on Black Friday for a wound between his shoulder blades. Dr.Vaughn did not even really look at it. He didn't clean it. Gave him an antibiotic shot and a prednisone shot and gave me some wound spray. It cost me $165 and needless to say I've gotta take him somewhere else. I wouldn't recommend this office period.

Dr. Vaughn is a fine gentleman, very knowledgeable, courteous, spent time explaining our cats health concerns and treatments. Beau did a great job assisting and calming our pet! Excellent experience! Thanks so much!

I was a new client , they let me bring my leopard gecko in who was very sick, took the time to talk to me , explain everything and made feel like my concerns were important and treated me like I have been going there for years. And they comforted me about my pet my child.

Kevin, (the groomer) at Stonefield is fantastic! The pricing is very reasonable as well. Would not be able to say enough wonderful things about him

Dr "Sam" always calls and checks up on Mango, my cat. He's a great & compassionate Vet with a wonderful, caring staff. When Mango was sick, Dr Vaughn saved his life!

The staff are very professional. Dr Vaughn was exceptional. Straight to point. During our visit he offered to take xrays of our leopard gecko. He even showed me and my son the xrays and explained everything we were looking at. Discussed a treatment and used the xrays to help explain the plan of attack. I also loved his "bed-side" maners. So did my son. Straight to the point. Then the next day he called to check on the patient. I have the staff call from time to time but never the Vet in my 30 years as a pet owner. Well done Doc .... well done.

I felt confident I was getting the best advice possible for my parrot

I had a baby chick with leg problems which Dr Vaughn was able to diagnose. Most vets have no ideal how to work with birds and refuse to take care of a chicken. Thank you!

Dr. Vaugh was helpful and responsive. We recently moved to Kentucky and didn't have time to get an avian vet. We had an emergency with a sick parrot and the entire staff was helpful! Vega is doing so much better! Worth the drive to Louisville.

I was recommended to Dr. Vaughn by my Northern Kentucky vet for my macaw, Doodles. Doodles had been laying eggs & was not feeling well. Kathy was able to get me in the same afternoon I had called. Dr. Vaughn anesthetized her, x-rayed her & removed another egg from her. He prescribed antibiotics for her, and after a week, she is beginning to act like her old self. A two hour drive both ways was well worth it!

They are very caring and knowledgeable! Our baby bearded dragon needed immediate help and they got us in. Never buy your pet from a pet store!

Dr Vaughn cares greatly about our animals and has always been very attentive to their needs. My wife has lost a cat and two birds due to old age and he was very considerate of her feelings and offered to help with the funeral arraignments to spare her more grief. We have been to several vets in Louisville but none showed as much care and compassion for our animals as him and his staff.

I brought my rabbit in emergently because I knew something was very wrong with her. Vaughn literally shuffled in with his mask on his chin below his nose and mouth. Felt only of my rabbits abdomen before declaring a diagnosis of gastric stasis. He didn't check her heart, eyes, ears, etc. He gave her an injection, and told me she wasn't that bad. I asked what should I look for? How long will it take her to recover? What should I do to help her recover? I was desperate for more information because I didn't trust that it was this simple. He said she needed to eat more hay. I asked about lettuce and his literal response was "Grass and hay!" Complete sentences seemed difficult for him, and I honestly wondered from the first moment he entered the room what was wrong with him. He was gruff, brief, and I felt as if I was annoying him. His staff was kind and more helpful but ultimately their assurances that they see this all the time and the rabbit would be fine were wrong. She died the next morning before Vaughn got into the office. I rushed her to another vet in tears but it was too late. I wish I had trusted my gut and just gotten up and walked out the minute he walked in.

I brought my guinea pig to this location due to an ear infection and URI. They were able to get me in the following day and was brought back to a room as soon as we got there. They were very thorough with their questions pertaining to how she had been doing and went over the treatment plan to help her to a quick road to recovery. Our visit was quick from start to finish and we were on our way before we knew it with a 2 week follow-up to check her progress. What impressed me the most was the Dr calling me early the next morning to see how my little guinea pig was doing. Not sure I have had anyone do that before. I absolutely do recommend this place to anyone! It is a really easy location to get in and out of.

Dr Vaughn and his crew do a FABULOUS job taking care of my African Gray parrot. My appointments are on time, efficient and my sweet bird is happy. It is hard to find an avian specialist who does all of these things and appreciates that your time is also valuable as well.

Dr. Vaughn is one of the most knowledgeable vets when it comes to avian medicine and exotics. His facility is top notch, prices are reasonable and the staff is warm, welcoming and caring. If you need the best care for your bird or any animal for that matter, Veterinary Associates Stonefield is the only "go-to" in Louisville.

So I got my little maltipoo groomed on a Wednesday morning with one of the groomers there. She was nice and took care of my little fur boy. When I came back to get him he looked so good and cute and he smelled really good. I don’t know what shampoo she used but it lasted on him for 3+ days, I was really surprised. I highly recommend this veterinary clinic to everyone.

Highly recommend Dr.Vaughn and his team! We brought our rabbit in to be Neutered and it was such a smooth process the whole way through surgery and recovery due to recommendations and the education they gave us throughout. Finding a vet for a rabbit can be difficult so needless to say we are pleased to be apart of the Stonefield family!

My goldendoodle and I had a very good experience at Veterninary Associates. Every wore masks which was very good. We had our dog groomed and he looked exceptional. Some places don't know how to properly groom a doodle. This was the best location we've found.

Dr. Vaughn has without a doubt saved my cockatiel’s life. He and his staff are extremely caring and hospitable to myself and my feathered friend. We have definitely found our vet for life in their practice. I can’t express enough gratitude for what they have done. 10/10 recommend and will be referring all my fellow pet owners to them! ????

Dr. Vaughn is AMAZING!! Absolutely one of the most brilliant guys you will ever meet! He only hires the very best people and all of them truly have your pet’s best interest at heart. That REALLY makes a difference. Their prices are reasonable and they always treat you and your pet with the utmost respect. Exotic animals don’t even phase this incredible vet and his staff; they’ll competently treat anything that walks, slithers, flies, or swims through the door (and even some that can’t fit through the door)! HIGHLY recommend this clinic!

I absolutely adore all the staff that I have had the pleasure of meeting at Veterinary Associates Stonefield! I recently took in my chinchilla who was previously mistreated by it's former owner. Dr. Vaughn, and his staff were nothing short of amazing. They are kind, compassionate and you can tell they really love what they do!
