After my dog hurt her paw on a Friday and finding out our normal vet was closed on weekends, my sister recommended St. Matthews Animal Clinic. I called them as soon as they opened and they were able to see her just a few hours later! Everyone was extremely friendly and so accommodating! They took great care of her and were very thorough explaining all the aftercare. They didn’t make me feel pressured to come back to their office for her follow up care but after having such a great experience I decided to go ahead and make the switch to St. Matthews Animal Clinic. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing a vet! Thank you all so much!

St. Matthews clinic has been nothing but amazing. They got us in so quickly in an emergency situation and was in constant contact with me and took care of my fur baby. Dr. Michalski spoke to me multiple times about updates and what I should expect. Their staff was so nice and they took great care of my dog. I will continue to come to this clinic for future visits. The Dr. was very accommodating in the fact that she was supposed to leave at 4:00 pm but stayed well after that to give our cat an examination and vaccinations. We scheduled a surgical visit to have him neutered. He’s a younger neighborhood stray we decided to take care of.

I took my cat there today for acute vomiting. I told the staff my cat hates the vet and is a black belt ninja assassin. So the Dr calls me after "Thor" (my kitty's name) was in there for 15 minutes and tells me they can't see him because of him hissing and he's hostile. She tells me they can't see him because she has 3 surgeries and can't sedate him. They send me home with nausea pills and a bill for 125$. No how is that fair? How do they justify charging me a visit and didn't even access him? So I will no longer go there and I suggest you may want to stay away too and go somewhere that will treat you and bill you with fairness.

We have a dog who is fearful and they were so calm and patient, he got his shots without a muzzle or restraining or anything. Best visit ever.

I made an appointment for dog grooming almost a month in advance based on recommendation from a colleague. I emailed vaccination records 20 days in advance of appointment—no response. When I received phone call to confirm the day prior to appointment, I had to resend records (they couldn’t find them, email address was correct, I confirmed). Then, after resending records, I received a text that they require biannual bordetella (our vet requires annual). How was I supposed to know this? Offered either option for our dogs to see their vet (to “establish a relationship”) or reschedule. Waited nearly a month for appointment and notified day before that vaccinations were “inadequate”. Very unprofessional

I have always had a great experience here. We have seen multiple doctors and they have all been friendly and informative. Staff is very helpful in making it a comfortable experience for my dog!

They are always friendly .. If you have an appointment, they get you right in without having to wait a long time. Also, my dog had to have emergency surgery and I didn't have the money. They worked with me and I set up a payment plan! Without them helping me I don't know what would have happened to Kodi!

Awesome vet!!! Everyone has been extremely kind, helpful, and caring from the first time I called them. I was super impressed with St Matthews…the staff are great and Dr Michalski was thorough and knowledgeable and she took time to answer all my questions. We just moved to town and they got us an appt immediately so that my fur baby doesn’t get behind on his heartworm treatments (I adopted him from the shelter a couple months ago-heart worm positive ????). They followed up with pricing estimates as requested and, I can tell you after starting his treatment in Dallas, their prices are very reasonable! I feel like they have treated my dog like the precious fur baby he is and that is what’s most important ❤️???? Thank you Dr M and St Matthews Animal Clinic!!!

I am absolutely in love with the staff and the quality of care. They are so kind and always try to work you in if they can. Very good prices as well. No complaints at all and I have been going here for about a year and a half now with two cats and a dog.

I am always impressed by you guys. The vets and vet techs are gentle with the animals and are very caring and empathetic. I always feel like my animals are in good hands with you guys. Also I can always get in quickly for small pet care emergencies.

Do not take your pet here. I brought my dog in after she woke up with it red and inflamed, there was discharge coming out and they said she had an allergic reaction.They gave us eye drops that were not of any help. Fast forward 2 days later I get her into her regular vet, turns out she has glaucoma. No excuses for the poor diagnosis we received from this office.

After Shively Animal Hospital nearly ended any faith we had in proper animal care, Saint Matthews restored our hope. A month ago we rescued a horribly neglected mother pit bull and one surviving puppy from a litter of four after they were found in a drainage pipe area of an apartment complex. At two weeks old the one surviving puppy needed to be hospitalized according to Shively animal hospital which was honestly the worst experience we have ever had or heard of in animal care. Shively Animal Hospital consistently mixed up our dogs’ details with other animals leading to the two week old puppy being prescribed a medication that could have killed her. Shively labeled us as belligerent when we were trying to explain their consistent mix ups and what was happening to our dogs - deliberately denying us access to the doctors and forcing us to wait for one update phone call a day. It took a week of daily phone calls and arguments with the staff at Shively for us to figure out the mistakes that were made in both dogs’ care. Saint Matthews was amazing in accepting the care of mama and baby after their traumatic beginning; making sure their health was straightened out as quickly as possible. They understand the anxiety and frustration we have been through and treated us with compassion. Never going anywhere else.

I have been a client since about 1974 and have received excellent care for my cats and dogs. The staff are always helpful, professional, caring, and will go the extra mile. Their smiles are contagious, they genuinely love what they do and you feel like your family.

I spent all morning calling around from place to place because my foster kitten wasn’t doing well at all and could barely stand. They heard how worried I was and let me bring her right in. We were in and out so quickly and the staff was so kind and thorough. The next day my kitten was running and playing!

I have to say that these girls are more than amazing. After trying to contact our vet 3 times on a Sunday for an emergency, this is the only place that would take us in. We had to drive an hour and after dealing with them, we decided to make them our official vet.no matter how many questions we asked or how much we bugged them, they remained patient and sooooo nice to us. I think we would go to them even if they were 2 hours away. We can not express how grateful we are that they helped us. They truly are a godsend. Thank you girls again and we look forward to seeing you for everything we need for our fur babies. And thank you for saving our Mera.

I cannot express how grateful I am for St Matthew’s. Not only did they get me in immediately, they saved my kitty, called to keep me updated, and it didn’t cost a fortune. Thank you so much for everything. Jasper wouldn’t be here without you !! I would highly recommend.

Friendly staff, thoughtful well rounded care, lots of therapy sessions and flexible appointment times.

The staff was very nice and the building was clean. My only complaint is that they took my dogs balls away, very unprofessional. They were advertising neutering, not a vasectomy. Who goes into a vet knowing was “neutering” is?? Other than that very enjoyable.

I was able to get a quick appointment. They went out of thier way to see that I was able to get my babies needs met with the money I had. The office visit was a little steep. Employees were friendly and good with my baby.

I have been bringing my dogs to SMAC ever since I moved to the area more than a decade ago. I have found the vets and techs to be knowledgeable and up-to-date on current maladies and treatments, as well as general pet health. The entire staff treats my dogs and me kindly and with respect. When my dogs developed problems beyond their areas of expertise, they referred us to specialists in the area, which was helpful. They seem to genuinely care about my dogs' health and happiness, being mindful of a pet's quality life which as the pet ages. Having on-site grooming is a bonus, as is week-end availability. They have proven to me on more than one occasion that their concern is in my dogs' best interest andI feel safe in knowing that they are in the office 7 days a week. I feel very comfortable recommending them to friends.

Their sign says, “The Clinic with a Big Heart,” and for my pup and me, that couldn’t be more true! The staff and the doctor were so amazing today when we needed them, and my pet is not a normal patient here, so they didn’t have to be. If I lived closer, this would be my vet...without a doubt! Kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, professional, and efficient are all words I would use to describe the St. Matthews Animal Clinic! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!

My 4 legged "children" have been patients of St. Matthew's Animal Clinic since 1975. I have always known that they were getting the best care possible from both the veterinarians and vet techs. And the front desk staff are the best, helpful and always friendly!

I've had two cats put to sleep and the staff was wonderful. I now have two dogs and am in and out all the time. When my boy, who has epilepsy, went into a bad seizure they took us right in and he was surrounded by help immediately. When I brought in a dog that someone had literally thrown out of his truck they took him in and worked to get him into a rescue place (something I was unable to do myself). They did surgery on him and he now has a new home. Hours are great. Can't say enough good things about them. Their groomer, Lawrence, is also stellar. The only negative thing I can say is that I sometimes have to wait and my dogs are large and scaredy cats, so that can be an adventure. I've seen several different vets and like them all. I can't imagine going anywhere else.

Staff was very friendly. It was super easy to make an appointment online. I was surprised by how quick the visit was. They cared for my cat Sage very well!

They were professional, kind and courteous. The Dr/Vet talked to me a couple of times.
