Called to report a dog being abused. Not only did they do nothing but every time the dog ran away they would take her back to that monster. Useless!!! Well Metro told the abusive monster who reported him and he killed some of my cats. Why?

On Nov 12,2021 I went to LMAS with the intent to adopt a 5 yr old male Rat Terriernamed Buster. In the meet & greet room after 20 mins it was obvious that Buster(who had been there 30 days)DIDN'T want ME. The young lady/employee returned to escort Buster away & informed me of 2 other small dogs. I ventured in the back(where they keep pups)& saw "Hopi" a 7 yr old black Chihuahua Rat Terrier mix. We met in the meet & greet and within 5 mins I KNEW I'd found MY dog & instantly renamed her "Lady". She arrived on Nov 3rd & I adopted her Nov 12th,LMAS spayed her & gave her meds for kennel cough(recovered in 2 weeks)along with various shots during her short 9 days. I live in the Crescent Hill neighborhood & took her to the Crescent Hill Animal Hospital for a stemper & 1st flu shots(2nd flu shot due on Dec 15th). Lady has to hace her teeth cleaned & 2 or 3 back teeth extracted but otherwise a healthy/happy dog. I was impressed by the LMAS staff & the overall living conditions/ medical attention given to Lady prior to adoption. Thanks LMAS. ; )

I adopted a black and white street cat a while ago. He is the sweetest cat on the planet and almost never stops purring. The employees there were absolutely amazing they do really really good work there.

I surrendered a dog that I found near @ the newburg library. They did take the dog however they weren't very nice about it acting as if the dog were mine or something.

I have worked with LMAS for years as a volunteer for another rescue as well as a volunteer for them. They are an amazing, dedicated group of people that do everything in their power to help the animals that come to them. I admire each and every one of them for having the patience to deal with the general public that does not understand the depth of their jobs - seriously they are saints. They provide amazing care for the animals from dogs and cats to bunny's, chickens, pigs, and more that find their way to LMAS. Constantly going above and beyond of medical and behavioral cases to ensure the best of care is given. I am also proud of their dedication to growth and trying new programs - their field trip fostering is an awesome program and the recent addition of playgroups is amazing. The new facility is stunning but ultimately it is the people that make it phenomenal.

A couple of months ago I wrote a review and now I don’t see it so I’m writing it again. I called metro animal services back in January to report my neighbors physically abusing their dogs needless to say they came out but the situation wasn’t taken seriously at all. This place may be good for animal adoptions but in the case of physical abuse to an animal don’t waste your time.

I adopted a dog back in June, a miniature Schnauzer Smokey is his name. He was great in the beginning but after about 4 or 5 weeks he started biting family members and neighbors, 5 people in total and he attached 2 dogs...he became untrustworthy and I returned him to metro animal. The owner before me didn't want him back, and now metro animal has placed him up for adoption once again. Be careful with this animal if interested, he also doesn't like kids at all and bit a 4 year old in my family.

Yes, they fixed the cat (thank you) but I surrendered the stray cat. They dropped it off back at my house. It was bullying my othe strays cats that I maintain.

We went to report a dog as found, in case the owner called the pound looking for it. We didn't want the dog to go into the shelter so quickly, and thought field foster was available. They told us if we weren't giving the dog up that same day, they would not take our info or pass along owner contacts.

This place is a joke, they won't do anything to save your pet and they are a kill shelter. They do it EVERYDAY for space. My jack russell was attacked by TWO huge mastiffs and I have yet to have any closer and it was in MY own yard. They say save the vet bills, they'll make them pay for it but that's a lie. I can't get any of the dogs other medicine because I still owe money for wjat someone else's dog did. I had to message them for updates. These people don't care, they're just there for a paycheck. I really had faith in them but thats all gone now, never trust these people. If something happens to your dog dont expect these people to help because THEY WILL NOT. Get your own lawyer or whatever you need to do. Thank you for NOTHING lmas.

Zero stars. Don't bother, they won't help. Most worthless humans around. I feel bad for the animals trapped there, if there are any. I didn't see or hear any.

I recently adopted a cat from Metro Animal House. The inside was bright and extremely clean. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and professional. When I was going through her medical records I was surprised at the extent of tests, etc. that were given to my cat even noting how friendly she was and loves to be petted. Normally it's a quick once over and that is it. She was from a colony, dehydrated, and emaciated they took such good care of her.
