!!ONLINE COACHIING!!!!A+!!!!EVERYTHING A DOG NEEDS!!!!DO IT NOW!! This was a fantastic few weeks of training. I ran my dog Hugo, an adopted, Male, 1y3m AmStaff/Pittie mix through. I have had little to no real work with dogs, and frankly concerned I was going to be overwhelmed and fail my dog. WELL, Rich did not let that happen. He laid out the plan for the few weeks of training over FaceTime, and we went over goals and markers I wanted to hit with Hugo and WHAT I wanted from my dog. Each week we focused on something different, BUT building on what the previous week was about. At the beginning of each week we would facetime/zoom for 30-60mins. I would send Rich short video clips of working with Hugo throughout the week, and Rich would let me know what I needed to change, keep doing, or extend with Hugo. If there was ANYTHING I was questioning/wondering I sent him a text/video and he responded with a direct way to correct the issue I was having. The training with Hugo was not overwhelming at all. We would simply do 4-6 10/15min sessions during the day (before work, after work, before dinner, after dinner, before bedtime). Rich makes sure to focus on the simple tasks for a dog to understand and perform. Walking correctly on leash, sit, down, place, short recall, long recall, everything a good house dog needs. It is amazing when the dog starts to realize WHAT they need to do. All this was performed with proper leash, collar, and treat work. I also learned when and how to use each one as a correction and as a reward. If one way of training isn't working, Rich will help you figure out what does work. Though Rich has work with 1000's of dogs his ability to explain WHAT/WHY/HOW dogs do what they do to a beginner was flawless. DO NOT BE INTIMMIDATED! Do not let little issues scare you from looking into this training. It was amazing. On top of everything, I DID THIS, with MY DOG. I do feel more connected/ confident with Hugo after these training weeks. Hugo I do believe, feels the same. Seriously, do this training.

Double H is absolutely incredible! We took our 8 month old puppy to the 2 week day training program to address issues with reactivity toward other dogs and leash walking. Mike was fantastic in terms of communication, training, and the level of discipline and attention he demonstrates with each dog he trains. Zuko is a changed dog - he is calm around other dogs, people, and is able to take commands in any situation. We looked at other day training and board and train options in the area and we felt they did not even compare in terms of knowledgeability and desire to actually train our dog. We highly recommend trusting Double H and Mike to train any dog and will only trust Double H with our dogs in the future.

Double H has been the best investment I have made for both my aussiedoodle pup and 4 year old labradoodle. -The staff is absolutely phenomenal and I would trust all of them to provide the same outcome. My boys worked specifically with Mike though, who is an above and beyond awesome trainer! -We did the 3 week program with the e-collar and from day one I could tell a difference in these two. My labradoodle came into day one of training with e-collar hesitations and from the first time it was put on him it was treated as a positive experience, huge thanks to Mike and his patience with him. These trainers listen very well and retain what you tell them pertaining to your dogs, which is huge. We have been done a week now and I’m so thankful that I still have my pups fun playful personalities, but the discipline on top of it. -These trainers work so very hard and provide every dog with the things they need to do great, which has kept me so eager to put in as much work as I can on my side to keep up with what they’ve learned. You definitely will be pleased with Double H for any level of training you choose.

My dog and I came to Double H on an excellent recommendation and with high hopes. I decided to do the board and train program and everything seemed to go well to start. Hagrid learned three commands the first week and the trainer and I had a good thirty minute training session at the end of the first week. The second week went by without much feedback. The trainer reached out on Wednesday of week 2 saying that he would be out of town and leaving Thursday and wondered if we could either wait for the final training session until the following Tuesday or he could pair me with another trainer on Friday. I told him we could do whatever he preferred. He said he preferred the following Tuesday. I agreed and asked him to let me know so that I could block off my work calendar and be sure to be there. He said that he would. I never heard from him again. When I picked Hagrid up on the second Friday, I didn't get another training session. I wasn't shown what he was taught the second week. Hagrid was used briefly by another trainer as we were leaving who was trying to get two other dogs to stay in place when another dog was around. Still another trainer handed me back a 15lb bag of food that had maybe 1/3 of it gone. I learned that day that my Bernese Mountain dog who normally eats 6 cups of food per day wasn't really eating at all while being boarded and no one had bothered to let me know until the end of training. I've never heard back from Double H, not to set up the missed training or for the three week follow up for post-training. It definitely does not feel like a wise way to spend $1895 to teach my dog three commands: sit, wait, and place. I'm fairly certain I could've gotten that with the Petco trainers. This was a very disappointing experience.

Allie is AMAZING. Going in, I knew my dog, Lady, was going to be a handful ????Allie exceeded all my expectations and it's only been one week. I know I'll be blown away after the second week. 10/10 recommend Double H for any and all training

THE BEST!!! Absolutely love these trainers! They are very loving to the dogs. Within the first day of training, the dogs show positive results with increasingly wonderful results daily. I have recommended 3 friends and they are equally ecstatic! So happy to have found perfection! True, my dog, sends love!

I took my dog (A Bernedoodle) to Double H Canine this past summer. I previously invested in other training that was just about the same price, but ended up a waste of time and wish I had reached out to Double H in the first place. Take this advice and don’t go elsewhere!!! My Bernedoodle looks so friendly from afar, but is very protective and does not care for strangers. Before double h training, he was very reactive and aggressive when spotting other people and dogs. He would not listen in tense situations and I tried my best to avoid situations where I knew he’d react. Months after training, I find myself continuing to realize/see how much my dog has improved since training in just every day life. Of course we’re always going to be working on practicing the skills learned, but Double H training has helped me to be more comfortable and confident in my dog and my control over him. He’s even warming up to other dogs and strangers! Save yourself from stress and anxiety and take your dog (young or old) to this wonderful team. Shoutout to Zach for working with my stubborn Murphy. I already plan to get my next dog trained when I get Murphy a brother :) I know it may seem like a lot of money, but it is so worth it to be able to enjoy your dog and for your dog to not be so stressed out.

Zack and the Training are fantastic! Our second pup Zack has trained for my family. I highly recommend. Price is very fair!

All I can say is they are amazing. From the owner Rich, to Zack, Dakota and ALL THE STAFF I have never been happier to have a well behaved dog. You get what you pay for and MORE...????❤????

We just completed the 6 week dog training classes. We are so thankful for Double H Canine. We came to Double H because our dog was easily distracted in public and did not react well to strangers. We have learned so much and our dog is more comfortable and in control. They break it down step by step and we have seen a huge difference. Thanks Double H Canine!

Did a great job with my dog!

I highly recommend Double H Canine!! We have a big Golden Retriever, Hank, who was a little over 1 when we took him to the stay and train. He is a sweet dog, but he jumped on people, listened to us only when he felt like it, pulled horribly on walks, and overall was becoming difficult to live with. Dakota was our trainer and he was amazing. It was a two week training class where we dropped him off in the morning and picked him up at night and it was amazing how quickly Hank learned the fundamentals and actually OBEY us! He doesn’t jump on people anymore, he listens, and he is great on walks. We can actually enjoy Hank and life at home now. Dakota was our saving grace. I spoke with a lot of dog trainers before deciding on Double H Canine and I couldn’t be happier we went with them. They love dogs, understand dogs, and know how to get through to them by using mutual respect and consistent training. And an added bonus, they seemed so happy to see Hank every day! It made dropping him off each morning so much better and made you feel good about your decision to take him there. I plan on taking all of our future pups to Double H for training in the future and I always highly recommend them! It’s worth the cost, you will not regret it!!

I really don't have enough good things to say about our experience with Double H and specifically our girl's trainer, Dakota. We took our GSD/Malinois mix to Double H for a consultation with Rich when she was around twelve weeks old. He explained the training options they offered and gave us some homework to set our pup up for success when she was old enough for the full program. On Rich's suggestion, we came back when our dog was four months old for their two week training program. What a difference it made in our dog's life. In that time our pup went from a sassy little handful to a manageable, polite, and confident young lady. More than anything, Dakota excelled in teaching our dog to control her impulses and focus her drive on obedience over destruction. The training Dakota gave her has made her not only easier for us to handle but also gave her a sense of confidence that has made her a well rounded and mentally strong dog. Dakota has also been as good, if not better, at training us than he was our dog. He has always been extraordinarily patient and thorough in answering our questions and helping with any behavioral issues. Dakota even gave us his personal cell phone number so we could call and ask questions when they arise. It is easy to see that he really cares about the quality of his work and for our dog. We took our dog back to Dakota when she was six months old for e-collar training so we could start working with her off leash. As expected, everything went great and the e-collar made our lives MUCH easier. At eight months old, four months after her initial visit to Double H, our dog's recall was dead on dependable. She would heel off leash, stay seated, and had an attention span longer than most dogs her age. We regularly get comments on how well behaved our dog is, and people are shocked to hear that she's still a puppy. Our dog is now over a year old and still loves going in to see her friends at Double H. She is always incredibly excited to see Dakota and play with his dog Texas. Dakota still patiently answers our questions, returns our texts, and genuinely cares about our dog. I emphatically refer people to Double H, and those that have gone have all had the same reaction. I am thrilled with the quality and efficacy of the service they provide and look forward to having them as a resource in the future.

I can’t say enough great things about Double H. Dakota, our trainer, worked wonders with my German Shepherd puppy. She went in a rambunctious, jumping lunatic and came out a respectful, well-mannered girl! Everyone on their staff is so nice and shows a genuine interest in the success of your dog. 5 out of 5 for sure!

I recently left a poor review after my dog came home with a mild but concerning injury to his neck from prong collar training. I was understandably upset that his injury went unnoticed by his trainer and that I wasn't informed of any incident, but my concerns have both been acknowledged and appropriately addressed. The owner is doing everything right to remedy and restore my trust, and has personally ensured me that my dog will receive the high quality training I expected from Double H Canine. .

I am so grateful that I found Double H Training Academy. What they can do with a dog is nothing short of amazing and it is because they are experts and they know what they are doing. My trainer was Dakota and it was quite obvious from the very beginning that he has a gift when it comes to training dogs. He was able to sense why Turbo behaved like he did and what he needed for that behavior to change. I simply did not have the experience to properly handle the dog and that in itself created problems. Dakota coached me and helped me learn what I needed to do in order to set Turbo up for success. I can't tell you what a wonderful difference it has made! Turbo is happier and I'm MUCH happier. They are so caring and put the dog first. I don't think there is anything they wouldn't do for a dog. I have seen them work very hard and patiently to give a dog only the best. The facility is wonderful. It is very clean and they go the extra mile to try and keep everything disinfected and healthy. I have worked and been to many kennels, large and small, and this one gets the top marks. That is important to me and it was just another reason I knew I could leave Turbo there in complete confidence that he would be taken care of as well as I myself took care of him (and TBH I'm pretty picky). My dog is a working dog (Belgian Malinois) and had a problem that needed to be fixed. Working dog handlers will be familiar with this concept. I highly recommend you use Double H Canine to help with any issues that may come up. They are very malinut savvy top professionals and they are honest and you can trust them to help you and your dog. They also are very friendly and are more than willing to listen to any questions or concerns you have. It is more than worth it to take advantage of the excellent training available here. I fully intend on making Double H Canine an integral part of my training plan from now on with current dogs and new dogs. They can maximize a dogs potential better than I can and that difference could be critical in the real life working world. I really feel blessed that such a wonderful training facility is right here in Louisville! I am most grateful for all the help they gave Turbo and I. Training time was very productive for both of us and we learned alot!

I saw a positive difference in our 7 month German shepherd after the first day of training. We took part in the day train program and it was well worth it. Our dog trained with Zach, he and the Double H staff did an excellent job helping my family and our German shepherd. Very happy with Double H and the education they shared with us. I would work with them again without hesitation.

My wife and I had our service dog trained here. Worth the money and worth the time.

I met with someone for a consultation prior to taking my dog for day training. I told them my main goal was for my dog to learn “drop it” as she already knew sit, lie down, stay, come, and leave it. They assigned my dog to a trainer but none of this info was communicated to the trainer and they don’t talk to you until the end of the week. I was extremely disappointed...my goal was not addressed so they asked me to return for 2 more days....I returned for one more day and decided this was not the place for me when my dog got sick with “kennel cough” which is highly contagious and the vet said she got it from being around other sick dogs. Also..they seemed overwhelmed with too many dogs...the first day I dropped her off they said they had 21 dogs starting plus some returning from the previous week. I would not recommend.

The did an amazing job with my 4 year old Corgi.

I have been so pleased with the training my dog has received at Double H. The staff is incredibly professional and helpful. I saw a marked difference in my dog just after two days of training. They took my wild and stubborn puppy and turned her into an obedient dog that respects me. They’ve also been incredibly helpful in training me as I am a first time dog owner. I now use Double H weekly for their stay and train program while I’m at work during the day, and I love watching how excited my dog gets when we pull into the parking lot. I cannot recommend them enough and will definitely be taking my future dogs there for training.

They connect to your dog and develop a great plan.

I took my two year old German Shepherd for a consult with Rich to test for detection and protection work. Rich, through his vast knowledge and experience with large working dogs was able to inform me, through several hours, that my dog was a perfect companion but was not bred for working. Rich, knowing I wouldn't be spending money at his business, took time (two hours or more) from his day to talk to me about working dogs and to give me advice moving forward. I 100% would recommend Double H and will be doing business with them in the future.

My husband and I were referred to Double H for our new Goldendoodle and we had a consultation with Rich, who was very professional and took the time we needed to answer all our questions. They were so patient with us since we had a few barriers to getting training started as we had to cancel a couple of scheduled weeks due to reasons beyond our control. Once we started, we chose the 2 weeks day camp and Zach was our primary trainer. Zach clearly loves dogs and that was demonstrated when he brought out his own Doodle who was a giant! He teased us about how our dog grew the first day we were there by revealing Doug's gerth! Anyway that showed personality and a desire to have a connection with the owners. Zach was very knowledgeable about our dog, Ollie, and gave us tips anytime we asked questions. Rich trained Ollie most of the second week as Zach was out of town and the training didn't skip a beat. Rich is kind and understanding as well about any questions you have or concerns. We had occasion to meet and interact with both Dakota and Dwayne as well, who demonstrated a professionalism and knowledge that matched Rich and Zach as well. If you have questions, you need merely ask and the responses are given with knowledge, care and concern. We have been so happy that we will miss these guys after our training is over. Thank you Double H for taking great care of our baby!

My Rottweiler and I went to Double H Canine when he was approximately 5 months old. Not only did they turn my dog around in a lot of ways, we not have the most stellar, trusting relationship I could imagine. I haven't had experience there with anyone but Rich (the owner) but I can say that our 6 week private lesson was totally driven by my goals and desired outcome. He understands the dog's mentality and how to teach them, but just as importantly he is a wonderful teacher of humans. He's really very skilled at making the average person understand everything they need to about dog handling and training. We're now enrolled in classes for protection work after two (free!) hour long evaluations. I would recommend this business to anyone who is looking to have a well behaved pet, or anyone interested in the working dog world.
