Like another person wrote, “ The negligence and disorganization of this facility cost my beautiful girl her life and left our family's world upside down. Thats the short side of the story. If you love your animals, TAKE THEM SOMEWHERE ELSE”, - I completely agree. Their negligence, and lack of specialty doctors cost us our baby’s life as well. I have zero confidence in Dr Cummings, and the other doctors currently there. Dr Rizzo was an exceptional doctor but left the practice. Many of the current staff have a terrible bedside manner. I have never been spoken to as rudely as I have by the staff here. I think there are several reasons for this starting with they are severely understaffed, hence the short hours they are currently open. They lack highly experienced specialist vets like they used to have. This is not the same practice it was a couple years ago. Just AWFUL! We too lost our beloved pet as a result of many of the factors listed above. It didn’t have to be this way, and we feel robbed of our precious fur baby. I wish I could recommend another practice for emergencies but sadly, the other Metropolitan one is no better.

We pulled up and called around 8pm Tuesday night because my 1yr old pup was bleeding from his paw and we could not get it to stop. Only for them to tell us they were closing at midnight and couldn't see us. Short staffed. Welcome to America. We drove almost an hour to get there only for the receptionist who sounded like she was stoned out of her mind to tell us to go to feeders supply and buy a powder. What a joke.

I came home from a doctor appointment and found that my dog, who had been sick, had passed away. I called Blue Pearl about cremation and was told I could bring her right over. When I got there, a sweet young lady named Taylor came right out, explained all my options and made it all very comfortable. All I had to do was sign my name. Then, when she picked up my dog from the back of my SUV, she whispered “Come on girl, I’m going to take you home”. She was amazing and I cannot thank her enough for the way she helped me.

The other night I picked up my dog from the dog sitters. It looked like my dog was having a stroke. His left two paws.. front and back we're both knuckling. That is when a dog walk instead of stepping on the bottom of his paw, he ends up stepping on the top of his paw, because his paw Curls up under his leg. It ps a Symptom ofA severe Neurological Problem or arthritis. Being late in the evening this was the only Open Other than one other place. They took forever to get our dog in. In fact they took two other dogs before our dog. Then they called us on the phone and started asking us a bunch of questions before they took our dog in which to me when my dog is having a medical emergency you should get him immediatly and call us with your questions after you begin the examination.

I don't like that they will not let you be worth you pet while they examine it. Also I was there once when I overheard a conversation with another pet parent. They were going to treat a dog that ate some raw hamburger. Dog's eat meat why …

Stay away from any blue pearl hospital if at all possible. I’d suggest driving out of your way to avoid it. Their wait times are absurd and their prices for services are robbery. A CT scan will run you upwards of 3k and from having friends in the field I absolutely know it does not cost that much to operate. This corporation allows only the richest to have care for their pets and their empathy for animals is a false gimmick for show.

Everyone was very caring and nice. Wait time was long, but to be expected. I’m just glad they were able to see our German shepherd. Getting seen at any regular vet is very difficult right now.

My little kitten was bitten by my dog. I got her to Blue Pearl and they took excellent care of her. They was very caring and professional. Dr Todd kept me informed on everything that was going on. It’s going to be a long recovery but she’s going to be okay. Thank you so much for helping save my cat!!

Dr Cummings was very knowledgeable and caring. He seems to have found a pain point that other vets didn`t know about. Last night my dog didn` come to eat at dinner time and he was shaking a little and I gave him some of the pain medication Dr Cummings gave me and guess what? in 10 minutes no more shaking and in 15 minutes he went to eat. Thank you so much for helping Cookie feel better!

The negligence and disorganization of this facility cost my beautiful girl her life and left our family's world upside down. Thats the short side of the story. If you want details, I'd be happy to provide in hopes of saving another family from this trauma. Feel free to reach out. If you love your animals, TAKE THEM SOMEWHERE ELSE. Trust me.

Being the only patient waiting to be seen and not is annoying. Watching other come in after you and been seen is annoying. Being told our dogs issue isn’t an emergency before seeing my dog is annoying. Blue Pearl needs to care more about the patients coming in. At least do a quick visit with the pet before telling me my dogs visit isn’t an emergency. After waiting two hours. We had to seek other options.

Sped here because it said it's a 24-hr emergency vet. My cat was dying and barely breathing, and I was turned away because there was no vet on staff. Don't come here if you have an actual emergency.

I made a call and told them what was going on with my dog. They told me it was an emergency and that we needed to bring the dog in immediately and to call when we were 5 min out. My husband sat in the truck with the dog for 4 hours. Once they took our dog back, they came out and said “it could be arthritis”, but to for sure tell you what is going on, it will be over $2000. They then told my husband it would be better served financially to take the dog to its normal vet. Now I see why people I know told me to stay away from here. What. A. JoKe!!!!!!!!

We had adopted a young kitten from the Kentucky Humane Society for our kiddos and shortly after adopting her she experienced a variety of health issues. We ended up at Blue Pearl, where they were incredible in their care for our kitten and how upfront they where on her issues and the estimate to treat them. Our kitten ended up spending two days in the hospital, and the kind staff even took a photo of our kitten so we could show our young kids that she was in good hands. They went above and beyond to keep us informed and now our kitten has made a full recovery. They saved her life, and we’re grateful for their care.

The staff were so quick and sweet when my dog had a bee sting. Dr. Neil Gruber was so sweet and helped calm my nerves about her condition! This isn't the first or last time I'll go I'm sure! I have 2 furbabies who are so special to me! I'm just glad there are people like this who love them just as much!

My dog had a rare diagnosis that took us to emergency veterinary clinics several times in his short 3 years. Last week we were faced with having to put our dog down. It happened so quick! After arriving at Blue Pearl they recognized his symptoms were life threatening and immediately took him in. They put him on O2 and the vet quickly assessed our dog. She was very honest and gave us options. The first option was to attempt aggressive measures to save our dog and the second was to euthanize him. It was heart wrenching to make this decision but we realized our dog was suffering and would never fully recover secondary to his diagnoses. The vet and her assistant were very sympathetic and recognized our pain. Honestly, I think it was very hard for them to witness our hurt and pain. After we said our goodbye to our Herbie, they offered to let us spend time with him and seemed empathetic. The assistant walked us out and was very sympathetic. They contacted Herbie’s vet to let her know what happened. Today we returned home from being out of town. They sent us a sympathy card with Herbie’s paw print and wrote sweet messages signed by Dr Bulava and Tracey. I’m confident Dr Bulava and Tracey were the two staff that were with us when we had to say goodbye to our sweet Herbie. At the time we were so upset under we never asked their names. With this being said, thank you for your kindness and concern. Yours is not an easy job when it comes to people and their sick pets. It was obvious by both your actions and demeanor you were placing yourselves in our shoes.

This place not for everyone . This place they don't care about your pet. Only care about how much they can make money from your pet suffering. If you don't have money ,you have only 1 option,to put your pet to sleep Im so upset. I wish I never google this place for emergency. Thire attitude will change as soon as they find out you have money and you don't have problems to pay for thire services. All fake.

Dr. Cummings and team provided the best care for our dog, including going out of their way to answer questions and see him on short notice. Highly recommend.

The Blue Pearl offers emergency care for cats. We were urged by the Downtown Animal Hospital (our Vet) to take our cat here for an emergency. The team walked us through each step of care. When it came time to handle our cats passing, this team was very kind. The service they provide for end of life care is unlike any I have witnessed before. The care they took to be respectful, give us time and space was beyond what you could expect. After her passing the team sent us a card and called to check on us. When I went to pick up her ashes... the staff was so understanding and soft-spoken. I would recommend anyone to take their pet here, if they can, instead of Jefferson Animal Hospital for emergency needs.

We’ve always had great experiences with blue pearl. I called to see if they could accept our dog last week who was in critical condition, and instead of just trying to get our money, the lady on the phone was honest. She stated that they wouldn’t have a specialist who could take on our case and referred us to metropolitan hospital. She said if they couldn’t take her, that she would help us find somewhere in Lexington. I didn’t just get a “no” and I truly appreciated that. Metropolitan did save our girl. Miranda S.

Do not bring your pet here this is one of the most unprofessional places that there is they have taken pets in after we had been here for hours even lied about checking other animals that they said weren't going to make it have still been sitting here after everyone else is gone and supposedly they are with patients even though everyone has been gone for almost an hour and they called saying they were coming to get her if you want your pet cared for i would definitely go somewhere else that actually cares cause this place doesn't

This was a few weeks ago. My yorkie Sasha was vomitting and having diarhea at home in the middle of the night. Panicked, I went straight to Blue Pearl thinking they would take care of my dog. Not sure what to do, I went up to the front door. It was locked. I figured I was probably COVID related but I peaked in the window to see if I could flag someone down. I only saw one person and they were ASLEEP in their chair. I knocked like five times. Never coming back.

i have never left a bad review anywhere in my life but this place made me so angry. after 2 and a half hours of waiting, and not being told how long the wait would be, they finally took my cat inside. after another hour and a half they called me and said they literally would not do anything for him unless i paid them $1300. they said they do not do payment plans or any options for payment other than out of pocket day of. i told them i would take pain medicine for my pet until i can get him into his regular vet. after 30 more minutes they call me and say that they will bring my pet back to me once i pay $170, $130 of which was just for the doctor telling me i need to pay $1300. after 20 more minutes they returned my cat. i spent 10 minutes short of 5 hours and $170 just told be told to go to the vet. this place might be okay if you’re rich and have nothing but time, but for any normal person i do not recommend. i would not have been 2 and a half hours late to work if they would’ve told me upon arrival how time consuming and expensive this place would be.

Not an emergency hospital. My dog got attacked by a raccoon and I tried to get him treatment. No doctors were on staff and this wasn't a scheduled closure.

I hope we never need an emergency vet again, but if we do we will go directly to BluePearl. I'm certain everyone who's taking their fur baby there is having on of the worst days in their lives, the staff is very compassionate, every one of them. Just like a human ER they treat by severity. There were a couple of really bad cases that came in while we were there, so we were there for hours. They are about three times more expensive than our normal vet but I cannot imagine letting my girl suffer all weekend, it was absolutely worth it.

I cannot express my appreciation for the staff here. My 23 yr old cat had been on a downward spiral for several weeks. After being treated horribly at another hospital, I drove across town hoping for a better outcome. The staff was very empathic toward myself and family. Showed deep care and sympathy toward my cat. I will be forever grateful forthe experience i had here. Thank you so much!
