Long story but a woman called me back to get more information after I had already been on the phone with someone else. The previous person also knew I had just had surgery so I was light winded and couldn't talk too long so she agreed to get everything she needed right then. The woman who called back was rude she wasn't prepared to even take my information and didn't have some of the info I gave to the previous person. I just canceled the appointments for my 3 cats because 1st impression is everything.

Before Dr. Campbell passed away, this place was a very good veterinary office. It's drastically gone down hill. From not being reliable, to being downright unprofessional. They need to take a good, hard look at what they've become.

Dr Campbell son took over. He is really bad. Wasnt knowledgable and never figured out why our cats have these ear problems. Charged a bunch of money. Tried recommending us to a dermatologist cause he dont know nothing about skin/allergies on animals. Why is he a vet?

they are good basic health care with reasonable prices. they usually are a walk in clinic - less than a half hour in the big waiting room. a practice that's been father and son owned. but covid safe practices in effect now. call em when you get there.. stay in your car.

I cannot speak highly enough of Blue Cross Animal Hospital and the staff. I have used Dr. Scott Campbell as an internist for 12 years. When he took over Blue Cross Animal Hospital, it was a no brainer for me to move my fur babies to his primary care. His is so gentle with them and so knowledgeable as to how to provide them with the best well care as well as when they are sick or injured. World Class Services!!!!

I have had a bad experience with this vet. I chose BC as it was down the street where I live. My vet Mike Grimes passed away and I needed a new vet. The proximity from my house was great. My bigger dog hated car rides so this seemed to be the solution. I had both dogs checked up and utd on shots when we moved to this practice. The big dog developed a heart condition that I was unaware of until it was too late. I had to euthanize her at Metro in April . My little dog had teeth removed at BC with no problem. Then I brought two of my three cats to Blue Cross. Purl has hypothyroid and Fred has renal disease. They wanted a urinalysis on Fred, done Aug. 19. Then the office closed down for vacation for a week. Apparently Dr. Webb had surgery and Campbell just wanted to go on vacation. So I waited a WEEK for results. Tuesday after they came back I called and was told they could not find the results and Dr. Campbell "must have it and he will call you himself." I called again two days later, pretty sure the result was nothing to worry about. Again staffer Laurie promised he would call. He did at six pm that evening and told me that Fred had a UTI. TWO WEEKS Fred went untreated. And I could not pick up the meds because they were closing. This morning I went to get the meds and three scripts for my pets. Julie the receptionist cut me off while I was talking and rushed to get my card number. Then put me on hold, came back and said "uh-ha" and because I didn't respond right away, she hung up. I was surprised because other staffers were pretty nice. So I find this vet to be negligent in providing proper care. The indifference to his patient is deplorable. My little cat has suffered a lot already and then to be treated with such rudeness is insufferable.

Took a pup with parvo to this hospital. They charged me the same amount to tell me to put him to sleep, as another vet charged me to fully care and cure the pup(including the overnight stays). They saw him for an hour and told me to put him down. The other place took him in and said they would do what they could. He's now healthy as an ox.

I have been coming to Blue Cross for many years now. Damon Campbell was a great veterinarian! now Scott Campbell is there and he goes above and beyond! I have recommended a lot of my family & friends to come here. And they feel the same way! The doctors and the techs/everyone @ Blue Cross makes it their mission to make you feel comfortable while you’re there. they love your fur baby just as much as you do! Thank-you! Blue Cross team! ????❤️

My dog was 2 years old and not breathing when I brought her in. Asked doc if she could shock her. She said she wouldn’t use the shockers on a CORPSE. She called my suddenly dead dog a CORPSE just so she could brush me off and go about her day. Honestly, still considering filing a lawsuit for intentional infliction of emotional distress. Do not EVER take your dog here. Poor service, zero bedside manner, only interested in taking your money. I’ve been to 3 vets in Louisville and this one is BY FAR THE WORST.

My pup has had a few health issues since I moved to Louisville and blue cross has been amazing each time. They worked him in quickly both times for sick visits and took amazing care of him. They went above and beyond making sure he was doing ok after a particularly scary issue, including keep him extra hours without charge. The staff has been super friendly and understanding. They are doing a great job with social distancing as well. Couldn't be happier.

Knew Dr. Damon Campbell thru my mother for over 30 years. Since he retired and I recently learned, in a very inconsiderate way, passed. The people now running this place are no Dr. Campbell. The right hand doesn't seem to know what the left is doing. One doctor says one thing and another says something else. They don't communicate on very important things. Half of them have a "don't care" "Not my problem" attitude. Don't ask for a call to discuss any issues. They don't call back. Looking for a new Vet.

When one of my precious rescues started limping, I took her to Blue Cross. Words cannot begin to express the kindness and compassion that I found in Dr. Campbell. His kind, soft-spoken manner assured me that he would do everything in his power to help her. His staff are also very friendly and kind. Laurie is amazing! With faith in God's help and the expertise of this fine hospital, my beloved Sue-Sue is going to be just fine.

My family has brought our pets to Blue Cross for 13 years. Having said that, I'm not going back after today. They charged me $82 to examine two cats for five minutes during a pandemic. The majority of my visit was a 15-minute long phone call with the vet about nothing in particular. My cat has feline herpes and needed antibiotics for a respiratory infection. I had to ask for antibiotics (the bottle was leaking in the box when I got home) while the vet pitched a $275 ultrasound at me because "He may have heart disease." No, he is an overweight cat with chronic respiratory problems and gets winded from running around an apartment. I'm not sure what happened after Dr. Campbell passed away. Maybe the staff works on commission and runs on non-sequitur logic. I went ahead and spent $12 on some lysine on Amazon and Googled another clinic and basic veterinary medical advice that doesn't suck. The rabies vaccines were the only reasonable thing that resulted from this $198 misadventure. Don't go here.

The absolute best experience, even during this tough time. They are keeping the staff, owners and pets safe. My dog normally is bit timid and shy, looks forward to her visits. Thank you all so much!

I scheduled an appointment for my cat at 3:30pm for a general check up. Arrived early and checked in at 3:28pm. 45 minutes went by, I watched one of the staff talk to the car next to me about everything not animal related for 20mins and then leave. Finally called back to tell them I’d been checked in for over 45mins. They asked the same questions the first staff member did when doing my intake papers. Said the staff was busy. So I waited, and watched other cars pull up after me and get serviced before me. Needless to say I sat outside for 1hr and 25mins before a tech came out to see me, after checking in twice, and calling and being put on hold for 10mins to get my cat seen. I had other appointments tonight so my cat is still sick and won’t be seen til later because of negligence on the staffs end. This is unacceptable.

I've debated leaving a review about my experience at Blue Cross Animal Hospital, but I think it's important for people to be aware of a couple of the issues that I faced as a new dog owner. I adopted a dog from LMAS and was looking for a veterinarian I could trust. He is a fairly healthy dog and aside from a few questions I just needed a general checkup to make sure everything was good with him. I'll start with the mistake on his weight. They weighed him at 40 lb. Twice. He actually weighs more than 50 lb. When I called the next day to ask about the discrepancy in his weight, they were surprised to hear that there was an issue and after a brief hold told me that everyone was excitedly weighing themselves on the scale because they were coming up lighter. When you're weighing dogs and prescribing medication based on their weight it's extremely important to make sure your scales are working properly and not to treat it like it's some throwback to your high school days and get excited about how little you weigh. I had to return the medicine he was prescribed because he needed a stronger version due to the weight difference. He was at the end of a prescription fighting kennel cough when I adopted him, and when I took him to BC he was about three weeks finished with his medicine, but still coughing, still with a nasal discharge. BC blew me off completely when I asked about it, suggesting that it’s ‘probably’ just left-over from the kennel cough. Today, I got a second opinion and have been giving a complete new round of medicines for him to take because he has a respiratory illness that is being treated as influenza. They did trim his nails at BC, so props, I suppose, for that. But, like so many other recent reviews I've seen about them, I ultimately feel like I cannot trust their judgement and will not return nor would I ever feel comfortable recommending them to anyone. I certainly hope that mistakes that could potentially harm someone's pet are taken seriously wherever you take your fur baby.

Called to make an appointment to establish care for my new puppy and American Bully and the receptionist was RUDE!!!! If you can't even set up an appointment to establish care why would I trust you with my baby? The search continues for a compassionate vet.

I brought my dog with a chronic bacterial infection to Blue Cross last month. Blue Cross prescribed ten days of cheap bubblegum flavored amoxicillin. I took my pet to Middletown Animal Clinic, last week, had a 20 min. conversation with the vet, and paid 50% of what BC charged me for one shot of strong antibiotics and eye drops for conjunctivitis (which BC never mentioned). Two days later, my dog is breathing normally again. Why would anyone give bubblegum flavore to a dog?! What a waste of time and money. Don't bring your pets here.

I just love this place! I have been taking my cats there for 10 years. The vet there now is Dr. Scott Campbell and he is the best! So thorough and informative! Also I HAVE to rave about vet tech Lori! SHE IS AMAZING! She was so patient as I pummeled her with my questions and concerns for my boy Buster. She was friendly and kind and answered everything with a wealth of knowledge (I believe she said she's been a vet tech for 37 years!). Idk how anyone has had a bad experience here that's a shame to hear. I'll be keeping my senior kitty's health care here!!
