Barks on Bauer Louisville, Indiana

Ava has been going to Barks On Bauer since she was born, four years ago. It’s her home away from home and her tail continues to wag every time I pull up to the building. I originally chose Barks because someone wrote here how Bill cares for her dogs the way he does his own. I feel exactly the same way. Even though I’m no longer working on a regular basis, I still bring Ava to play once or twice a week. The facility is always clean and Bill works hard to tend to every dog’s needs. I have nothing but good things to say!

Was good but now unreliable. Often closed with little notice. I’ve showed up multiple times to drop off before work and no one is there. And then I am late for work because I have to take my dog home. Very frustrating. Trying to find a new place for my dog to stay and play which is a shame.

This guy takes on more than anyone humanly should, responsible and always puts the dogs he takes care of first. I support this local business!

Leaving pets with someone is never an easy task. Rest assured if you leave your pets with Barks on Bauer your pets will be loved, cared for, and safe. It’s such a stress relief to know my pets will be well cared for while I’m away. One less stress is always a good thing especially this time of year.

Barks on Bauer is a great place to work, and a great place to bring your four legged family. The environment is very social, allowing dogs to play with each other and socialize. Bill Law is a great owner and boss, and always puts the safety and comfort of the dogs staying at Barks first. This is my favorite job I’ve ever had, and I feel that the dogs and owners love it just as much as I do. I can’t wait to get a dog of my own and bring them to Barks.

Bill and Barks on Bauer are like family. We wouldn't leave our dog anywhere else and sleep soundly knowing he's there when we're out of town. Stay and Play is also a huge benefit for our family. Bill and the rest of the Barks staff truly care about the dogs they take care of.

I was in a pinch for a quick-sitter for my pooch over the weekend and this place was a godsend. Staff was super chill, worked with me on a funky time slot when nobody else would squeeze me in. The in-house boarding/kennel area is spacious with plenty of sunlight and warm air -- nice setup! (I hate leaving my baby in the concrete cells and dingy cages all-too-common back home.) You can tell these people love dogs. Very reasonable rates and easy to communicate with. If I'm in town and need a sitter again I won't be looking anywhere else.

Awesome place! They truly care about your pets, and will go above and beyond to insure that every need is met.

Our rescue dog Zep had a great time staying overnight with Bill and Barks on Bauer. I found Barks thanks to a google search when we needed last minute dog care due to a death in the family. Bill was wonderful and reassuring when I dropped my dog off. The online portal allowed for easy booking and paying. Zep had a blast during his overnight stay and I was even able to have his nails cut while he was there! Bill sent me updates during the day and gave me some more info when I picked Zep up including better info on how our newish dog interacted with others which provided me with great info for our upcoming obedience training. I will definitely continue to use Barks for socialization for daycare and overnight as needed.

Barks on Bauer was an amazing daycare for our 4-year-old lab/shepherd mix. We took him 2-3x a week for 2 years and he was always excited to go and exhausted from a day full of playing with pals! We recently moved away from Louisville and are so bummed we can't take him there anymore!! Would leave Moose with Bill and the rest of the staff any day. Thanks for a great 2 years Barks on Bauer!

Our dog spent the week here while we were on vacation. He won’t stop talking about how much fun he had! Bill even text us photos while we were gone so we knew Moose was in good hands. Great place, we will absolutely be back!

This is the absolute best place in Louisville to take your 4-legged family members. Bill and his wife are simply the best, and have such compassion and care. I’m very protective and don’t trust easy- but I trust them 100%.

I have used Barks on Bauer since they opened and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Bill and Lynda always go the extra mile to take care of my 3 dogs. They have housesat for me and I trust them to always check on my dogs as if they were their own. I have also used their daycare and boarding service. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Barks on Bauer is the best place for doggie daycare in St. Matthews. Others may be good, but Lynda and Bill at Barks on Bauer really excel, and go the extra mile. Our greyhound and Boston terrier really love going there! Highly recommend!

Poppy is always so excited to visit her friends at Barks on Bauer. Bill and Lynda are very professional and do a great job of keeping all the pups happy and safe.

We have a seven-year-old Bichon that is literally another child to us. He has stayed here when we go on vacation for several years in a row now; it is the only place I have felt comfortable leaving him. He always comes back happy, clean, and most importantly healthy. Which is more than I can say when he stayed at other places when he was younger. Chenowith Animal Hospital, a completely separate and unassociated business, recommended them to us, and I am certain would not put their reputation on the line if wasn’t a wonderful boarder.

Barks on Bauer is truly amazing!! My boy is and will always be safe and well taken care of with them. They are amazing people that dedicate their life to animals.

Bill and Lynda are the best. Our dog loves Barks and we are sad we couldn’t move them with us. We don’t have a place like this in Indy. They make you feel like family.

Barks is a gem in the Louisville area. They will love and care for your dogs like family. You will not find a better daycare and boarding situation for your fur babies. We relocated to Atlanta and we haven't yet found a comparable place for our pets. We miss Barks on Bauer!

I have never had a bad experience with Barks. My dog knows when we're getting close and she'll start barking at me like "Hurry!!!".

So glad we found this place. Always open to letting our dog come in even on short notice. Our dog has some behavioral issues with other dogs but Bill and Linda (the owners) have always been patient with him and he now has his own little group of dog friends to hang with while we are at work all day. Worth every penny. I never worry about Our dog not getting cared for. He loves it!

The owners are super friendly and helpful. I take my puppy a couple of times per week for daycare, and have taken her there a couple of times for boarding. She gets excited when we arrive and can't wait to go in. I trust that she is treated well there and have no reservations about leaving her there. Plus the location is great. It's the only doggie daycare I know of in St. Matthews.

Used the option to have someone stop by our house when away for the weekend, rather than board our dog. Worked out great.

We have used "Barks" to stop in during the day as well as having them stay with the dogs all week while we were on vacation. They have been absolutely wonderful!
