Went there to find out about boarding for our cats since our vet stopped boarding. Everyone there was wonderful and caring will be doing business with them.

Best place to care for your furry loved ones!! My wife and I are thrilled we came across Sam Russels! Emma is excited to go, and exhausted afterwards! ????

Vixen is recovering from back to back acl surgeries. She been on restrictions since 9/20 to 10/21 and she been enjoying Sam Russell since May 21 and loves the girls so much that we are going to continue swim for preventative. Thanks for assisting Vixen with her recovery.

Very professional, great job with grooming my Maltipoo!

Our last visit wasn't quite as great as usual. Our pup wasn't given the correct am and pm meals, which in turn gave her too much of one medication and not enough of another. We have always included her meds in her food and it's never been a problem before. I'm sure it will be corrected next time.

My dog loves going to Sam Russell's to play. If I'm going to be gone most of the day or he just needs to burn off some energy I take him here. It's really a nice place. It's designed with dogs in mind. Go and take a tour.

Though the staff was very nice, my dog got kennel cough after only being there one time for 3 hours. I called to let them know, so hopefully they inform the other owners so their dogs don’t unknowingly spread it and so they can get antibiotics. I know it’s impossible to expect that this would never happen, but I feel like it would be better if they would actually require shot records from the vet instead of just the date of vaccination. Obviously, one or more of the dogs wasn’t vaccinated. I don’t blame the business, but I won’t be returning. Edit: Thank you for the response. However, Bear hasn’t been anywhere like a dog park or another kennel since he visited your facility. Again, I don’t blame you all. My dogs are my children and when I drop them off somewhere I want them to be protected. I actually specifically called about Kennel cough before dropping him off because I was scared, only to be told that it rarely occurs. I doubt there’s a request made for every dog’s vaccination records to their vet. I can’t imagine the time that would take your employees when the dog owner could just be asked to bring in records, so that doesn’t seem likely. Additionally, I doubt Bear was one of the first as our vet informed us that 3 other dogs had been seen that morning for kennel cough from boarding/daycare facilities. Additionally our vet advised us to not return, especially during busy times. I know things are going to spread regardless of what you do as a business, but I’m sure there’s ways to make it safer. I’m not angry, as I feel your staff is very caring and loves what they do. I am asking you to take more precautions as it absolutely kills me to see my best friend hacking up a lung all night and wondering if our ten year old basset will contract it. I do appreciate the well wishes.

This place is an outstanding grooming boarding and swimming Care facility for dogs

They take such good care of our pups. They love going to "puppy play" as they know it.

Great place! My pom is 14 years old with many issues. They were very knowledgeable on how to groom her and keep her comfortable. Definitely found new groomer.

Thought my review had posted... Took my senior dog in for swim therapy due to arthritis and the staff were awesome. The front desk people were very polite and both Stephanie's were so sweet with my old boy introducing him to the pool.

Honey Bear & I love everything about Sam Russel's and absolutely feel blessed to have found it!! While visiting family & shopping in my hometown of Elizabethtown we came upon the adorable business and simply had to check it out. The beautiful curb appeal is nothing compared to the gourmet quality of goods & services at shockingly low affordable prices. The shop & staff were so impressive that I've since relocated in order to work full-time with their daycare & boarding dogs/cats. I can now personally attest to the standard of care & quality of experience had by all our fur babies. I highly recommend all KY, IN, & TN cat and/or dog families within 100 miles, or anyone just passing through the Heartland, to check it out. I feel proud to call Hardin County home, to be blessed with such amazing home-grown businesses dedicated to service & community is truly a gift from above.

I drive all the way from Fort Knox to take my girl here. I mostly use their daycare service but have boarded and groomed with them as well. I am always greeted with enthusiasm and kindness. They were patient with me the first few times I’ve dropped her off as I was always nervous how she would act. I enjoy that she is out practically the whole day and not in a kennel often, the attention to detail that goes into placing her in the appropriate groups is appreciated. I have yet to see her on any FB posts but that’s not a deal breaker for me as we aren’t there too often. I wanted a place that would communicate with me if there was any trouble with my pup. I’ve used most other companies in the area before deciding to keep taking her here based off of the lack of communication. The last 2.5 years we’ve been here, I really have no complaints. My girl is deaf and has had incidents in the past at daycare places due to the lack of caution for that disability, not here. If she isn’t having a good day, I’m contacted. If an incident occurred, I’m contacted. She is always a happy girl leaving and excited when I drop her off, a 180 to her attitude prior to taking her here. They’ve been willing to work with her anxiety and have kept me in the loop on her progress. I did have a small complaint with grooming and the conversation was professional and well handled. I’ve ultimately decided not to use the grooming services here except for the nail care. That’s not going to take away from my rating as it’s a personal decision based off of preference. I will be leaving the area soon and really do hope to find a place as great as this place was for her.

This place is absolutely horrible. DO NOT use this groomer. My dog now has a gapping hole in his head from a grooming appointment. Back Story: I've been going to Sam Russell's for about 2 years and putting up with all their drama because I don't know of another place to take my pup in town who needs continuous grooming (I will however make it my number one mission to find a new groomer now). Over the last 2 years I have been cancelled on numerous times. I've even complained to staff while the owner was in her open office who didn't even acknowledge me. Needless to say thier customer service is horrific and they take no responsibility, so many excuses. I got to the point where I wanted to stop tipping and yet continued to do so because I didn't want to take it out on the groomer. Well, after this last appointment I am done. My dog went in for it's normal routine bath and groom (I swear at times I don't even think they bath him because he doesn't smell good). When I got the dog back in the car my son told me the dog had an owie. I didn't think anything of it at first but then when I saw it the next day, it was the size of a silver dollar with a gapping whole from where the dog had scratch it over night. I had to go buy a cone. He is now looking at a vet visit, wound care, and medication. Your groomer should have been a better communicator and told me that he or she nicked him while grooming. Also, before you try to respond, to save face, I am or now was one of your customers and everything I have said here is true. You run a terrible buisness and I will not return.

Our second visit to Sam Russell's was not pleasant for our pocket book. We were lied to about the boarding rates when we made our reservation. Our dogs shared a kennel and we where charged for the dogs as if they stayed separately. When I questioned them about the charges they would not work with me. Our dogs will never be returning Sam Russell's!
