Just went once to watch my daughter and her big boy graduate and I was truly impressed with all I saw. It's a dog lovers paradise because you will see all shapes and sizes.

Excellent dog training, grooming, day care and boarding. The staff is top-notch. Bruce teaches and demonstrates how to become a calm, consistent leader to your dog. His love of dogs is contagious!

Thank you guys so much!!! We appreciate everything that you guys have done for our dog!!! We drop our dog off for 2 weeks in kennel training. Once I called about our dog to see how he was doing. They give us a call right back to answer all the questions that we had, and updated us on how his process was going. Hannah thank you for working with our dog on leash commands you did a great job with him. He is much better than he was they Address everything that we listed on the paperwork to correct our dog. Once we came to pick him up they showed us on what he learned. He will definitely be back for more in kennel training. I would recommend anyone to take their dog for training at First Friend K-9 Training. Thanks again Bruce and Staff for working with us…. Keep up the good work!!!

we have been talking our dog to daycare and puppy training. staff is great and knowledgeable. due to construction, getting there can be hassle. don't let that determine you from taking your dog there

I have utilized this facility for training, kenneling and day care for many years and with 3 different dogs. Staff is stellar; training is thorough and help is always available for individual behavior problems. Can’t say enough good things about this facility/program!

NOT FOR 1ST TIME PUPPY OWNERS!!! I've been for 5 classes and was having a horrible time trying to get my puppy to do what they wanted. They looked and just kept walking instead of helping me. This has happened for last 5 weeks and I absolutely quit now. Great job guys!

Bruce is amazing not just as a trainer but a lover of dogs. We've been going to First Friends since since 1998 with all of our dogs. Highly recommended

Went to a one on one private training session, all there "training" is based off using prong collars and spraying your dog in the face/mouth/eyes with apple bitter spray (which btw, on the bottle it says to avoid spraying near face). Idk, im not completely opposed to aversive based training, but i feel it should be used as a last resort. This place jumps to aversive training right away.

Dropped my dog off for a week while on vacation. When we returned home, and I picked him up and he was absolutely filthy. I figured for the money I paid, I could've at least gotten a complementary bath before pick-up, but I guess not. He also developed sores/scabs on his elbows, and bottom. (I found this while giving him a bath) My dog is also fully vaccinated, but he has now gone to the vet and needed antibiotics due to developing kennel cough. the ONLY reason this is rated 2 stars is because when I called to check-in, they were helpful and gave good updates. My dogs will not be back.

It’s been years since I’ve used them but My dogs were TERRIFIED to even approach this place. I had greyhound mix rescues and they had me use choke collars on them which I now know is incredibly dangerous for that breed. They also would spray vinegar water in their face if they misbehaved. It was a terrible experience and I truly felt like Bruce got a kick out of intimidating and scaring dogs. I’ve held off for several years giving a negative review because I’m fairly certain It will illicit an angry response from the business.

Very disappointed in my experience as I went to training tonight for the first time. So many friends recommended this business to me. Currently, there is a city-wide and state-wide mask mandate. Several staff and some attendees not wearing masks. When asked was told that it would not be enforced and the owner will not wear a mask. So disappointed! I left and did receive a refund.

We could not be any happier with the training that Callie, our dobie, rec'd with FFK9. They were not only great with her but the level of knowledge that they have far exceeded our expectations. We will be going to a follow up class, and so far Callie is doing amazing at home with her new training. She was our best friend before, but now she is very respectful best friend. We cannot thank you enough! Tara and Andy Atkinson

Bruce, his wife Debbie, and the rest of their First Friends family are wonderful. I have taken my dogs there for years for the classes and socialization.

so I decided to do the In kennel training for 4 weeks....to say I am disappointed is an understatement....was told I would get a call from the trainer....I had to call after 2 weeks....then I asked if they would do home training walkthrough..but was told they like to do it there so there aren't "distractions" wait.... wouldn't you want to see how they are in their home environment so I know how to correct it... Even when I was being walk through the commands my dog was barely listening and didn't follow many that she told him to do....when we got home 2 weeks in he was back to his old ways...I expected after paying 2k and 4 weeks I would of gotten better results...now I have to look elsewhere for training.

The owner Bruce, and the girls that work with the dogs are a special group of people who are very good at what they do! Kelsey did an amazing job training my very stubborn Siberian Husky! I have seen a really big difference in his behavior since we brought him home and I owe it to Kelsey for not giving up on him! I had a dog trained here 25 years ago and I would not consider going anywhere else! They are truly the best at what they do!

Was not happy with there training. Dog doesn't even know where heal position is. Can down stay more than 2 minutes sad training for $2100 dollars. What a rip off

Bruce and his staff are excellent! I never thought that my dog could make so much progress in so short a time. I will recommend them to anyone who is thinking of training a new dog.

We took our husky to puppy kindergarten when he was 3 months old. Not going to lie, the classes can be intense and stressful at times (for the owners). But oh my gosh. Fast forward 7 months later. We frequently get comments on how well trained he is. People we meet at the dog park, doggie daycare, restaurant patios and neighbors always ask where he was trained. Bruce and his staff are amazing. They are a truly gifted and passionate group of trainers.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS HERE! I have seen first hand there trainers VIOLENTLY yanking dogs around by there collars. They are ABUSIVE & AWFUL! I have heard horror stories of First Friends K9. They are forceful and unnecessarily aggressive when training and boarding! ZERO STARS!!!

First time GSD pup owner, I would have been lost without Bruce's training. I enrolled for the Puppy Kindergarten class in October and completed my pup's graduation yesterday. My energetic pup has learned obedience, less distractions, limited jumping and biting. Bruce's class last for about 1.5 hours, and is absolutely worth your time and money. If you are someone who doesn't understand direct approach, no frills attached and candid humor this isn't the place for you. Bruce can come across as a strict trainer but he's so passionate about dogs. And I think that's what matters. Bruce's focus is on YOU training your pup not Bruce training your pup. Yes he and his team will be around to hand hold as needed and provided lots of freebies and help during the training with brushes, cotton, paste and any nitty grit-ties but it is totally on you to go back and keep practicing and be on top of your training. Absolutely recommend for a new owner, existing owner or pup re training as well
