I love this pet store! I enjoy seeing the puppies, parakeets and other animals. I find items for my pets that other pet stores don’t have. The staff is always always professional and friendly. The store is neat and clean. The animals are well cared for! Thank you Petland!!!

We came in to see if a puppy would be a right fit for us and we were told that we could not look at a puppy unless we were ready to purchase. The woman in front of us was able to get a room with a dog with zero issues.

My family visited this location and asked the man working to confirm a dogs breed and if we may see it. We are torn between breeds but considering a long hair dachshund for a next family pet. He then proceeded to tell us that they were short staff (three employees that we could see and 1 other customer in the entire store) and unless he could guarantee that we will be purchasing that dog he can not help us. I understand being short staff completely but it felt that he was basically denying us unless I had my checkbook out. His attitude was unnecessarily rude. We left immediately and after reading reviews I am glad we did not purchase a dog from this location.

I find it a little odd that when I come to your store Saturday evening that you allow a employee to sit out front and smoke cigarettes and talk to customer. And then when I come into the store that same employee will yell at me and my grand kids about sanitizing our hands for the "health" of the pets. So the pets health matters but the smoke in my grand kids face is ok.

I will never set foot in this store again. They treat dogs like they are products that can be reduced for quick sale. They overcharge for puppies that more than likely do not come from reputable breeders. Here is my story: My daughter bought her guinea pig there and went in to buy food. She called me and told me they had a Boston Terrier. We own one and had been thinking about getting another. A few weeks later we were shopping next to Petland and my daughter wondered if the Boston Terrier was still there. She was, next to a sign in the window that said “Boston Terrier 50% off”. I was appalled. I spoke to my husband about this sweet dig and went back to rescue her from that awful place. I couldn’t stand her being subjected to bargain shoppers and wanted her home with me, no matter what the cost. They bring you paperwork that highlights their “wonderful program”. You have to go to their vet to get the “benefits”. Then they take you “shopping” in the store and push items on you that are not necessary. The “registered “ paperwork they give is with the ACA, a substandard version of the AKC. The worst thing is their “Puppy for life” program, where you can apply your purchase price towards another dog when your fog dies, like trading in a used car. In summary, I hate that I gave them $2500 for a dog. But I am so happy that I rescued a beautiful, sweet puppy that will have a wonderful home and hope that others will read this review and NEVER buy a puppy from Petland. *** I am updating this review to add that after bringing my puppy home, she had diarrhea for two weeks and was diagnosed with giardia, an intestinal parasite, which is transmitted through infected feces.

This is the second time I've visited this place if you're black you don't stand a chance on getting waited on even with an appointment. The first visit employees were arguing with customers, this visit I was the only black person in the store no one greeted me or said they will be with me I stood there ten minutes and finally I said I had a noon appointment no one still said a word so I walked out if you're black and looking to purchase a pet this isn't the store for you

After hearing a positive experience from a friend and seeing that the puppy I desired was available, I scheduled an appointment for a visit. Upon arriving, we were greeted with warm smiles and positive attitudes. An area was cleaned and sanitized for us to visit with the pup. We were given enough time to make a decision. The program was thoroughly explained to us page by page. We were probed on any questions we may have had. After deciding to purchase, recommendations were made for our specific pet and we had the option to purchase. No Pressure. Every product we decided on has helped very well with training. Since we were traveling out of town for fall break the next day, we asked if they could board her while we were gone, and they happily agreed. This experience was phenomenal.

I love this store they took such good care of us from the get go with our first puppy. He was my emotional support animal. When he died suddenly they were wonderful helping me through this process and helped me to get another puppy. When I was ready because I needed the unconditional love to make it through the day. They are really the most wonderful people here.

I love this shop ! They will let you play with the puppies. They have other live animals as well smaller bunnies ferrets etc. Definitely worth visiting. Pricing on puppies are quite high.. found a dog that looks as homeless as my actual dog for 3500... Not sold on the price. Another time they were trying to sell me a blue french pit on sale for 10k from 12k. Still not impressed. Said dog actually had behavioral issues and was removed one week later.

I purchased a puppy from them a couple weeks ago, the experience was outstanding, the employees were so helpful, knowledgable, and used there own advice on what they use for there puppies at home. Our puppy is doing amazing and he is the sweetest little guy. I will be a returning customer for all of my puppies needs. Highly recommend!!!!!

We bought a Golden Retriever last week that had “Giardia” and couldn't bring him home until this Saturday because they were giving him medication which needed to finish its course. Yesterday, which was Sunday (the next day) he got extremely ill, vomiting and diarrhea. He got sooo weak in just a few hours as if he had lost atleast 10 pounds in a matter of hours. At this point I didnt even have the poor thing for 24hrs. I spent over $2000 in an emergency vet clinic to save him. He had worms and and inflamed bowl and a very high fever. His WBC count was 24000 where it shouldve been 12000. When we bought him back home today he couldnt even walk as he was extremely weak! These people sell sick dogs! Please stay away from them! DO NOT PURCHASE! We paid $5000 for him. They all seem sweet as they earn commission. They take home dogs they cant sell at the shop. The dogs they want to take home themselves have a sign on their window saying, “Sorry, Ive played too much today. I need to rest.” so no one sees them and they dont get sold. Absolute SCAM!

Please do not waste your money here. I should have read the reviews. First of the KIT doesn’t work. I asked for a puppy easy to train and find out that this is one of the worst dogs to train. The dog is also over priced even with the “sale”. Also, I asked for a dog that didn’t need so much attention because I work 8hrs a day. This puppy needs everything. It’s the worst decision I’ve made in a long time. If you come here know exactly what dog you want and unless it’s two great breeds do not pay over 1,000 dollars. The KIT is a worthless prop so don’t depend on that. Staff is however, patient and nice but that’s what makes sales.

Would have given this place zero stars if I could. I don’t feel like writing a full essay. The other reviews speak loud and clear. Just don’t purchase your dogs from here. Period.

I bought a puppy from here one week ago Sunday. On Tuesday, I noticed she had a bloody stool. I took her to their vet, as required, on Thursday. She received a few vaccinations. I told them about the bloody stool, and they told me we would watch it for now and to bring in a stool sample on her next visit. They gave her a clean bill of health. The next day, she didn’t seem to feel great. She threw up a couple times. I thought she wasn’t feeling well from her vaccine. From there, she declined quickly. She tested positive for parvo, and I had no choice but to euthanize her the morning of Labor Day. Parvo has a 3-10 day incubation period. I was sold a sick dog, and this was the most horrible and traumatizing experience for my kids and me. Our hearts are broken. I spent way too much money and financed this dog, because we fell in love with her. Hoping they will make an exception and give me a refund. Otherwise, I have no choice but to conclude this place is a shady scam. This is not ok. Edit: I did get a full refund, which I appreciated very much. They even paid me back for the emergency vet clinic expenses. The manager from the store was very empathetic and understanding. I understand no one could’ve known she had parvovirus unless she had been tested for it. RIP sweet puppy. ❤️

I would give Petland zero stars but that is not an option. Their warranty program is a complete scam. Our family bought a very pricey French Bulldog several months ago. The dog is very sweet but was unresponsive to any voice recognition. She was taken to our vet, who confirmed she is deaf. We were told we had to buy all their vitamin supplements for the warranty to hold on our pet, when we purchased her. We complied and bought all the items we were told we must have. After finding out she was deaf, we called Petland, who did not stand behind their guarantee and referred us to the warranty company. We called the warranty company several time and sat on hold 4 different times for over an hour. When they did answer, The warranty person was clearly at home with her children and had very little if no interest in ratifying the situation of selling us a very expensive deaf puppy. We have since called the warranty company and the line has been disconnected. We love the pup but feel we severely over paid. We were given zero reduction for a dog that can not be trained properly and her disabilities have ended up costing us far beyond what a healthy pup would have cost. Buyer BEWARE.

I love how you can handle the animald with the open cages without having an employee hovering over you. However, the prices are flat out ridiculous! If you're thinking about adopting a dog/cat please check out your local humane society or rescue groups please.

Honestly just incredibly disappointed in this place. We were suppose to receive our puppy this weekend and it turned out to be a scam. We were so sad so we tried looking around to see what was available in the area. We had checked out a couple of places and finally found PetLand and they had the breed we were interested in. We called ahead to confirm the pup was still available. They let us know if was but they couldn’t give out information over the phone…definitely understand that. The store was closing soon so we let them know we would hurry over. We walked in and actually found another that caught our eye and we were very excited to check the pup out and learn more. When we asked to see the dog we were told, no, you can’t get the dogs out on the weekends. We said but we had just called and we’re never told that. They said sorry, come back between Monday and Wednesday. We left because we had an infant and 4 year old and my mother was completely disappointed. I decided to head back in and try to speak with the girl we had talked to on the phone to just try to get the information so we would know if we even wanted to come back on Monday. The gentleman who told us we couldn’t see the puppy approached and said I couldn’t speak to her because she was new and I wasn’t allowed to go yell at her. I had zero intentions of yelling at anyone but yes we were frustrated and just wanted to get the information so we could make decisions. The gentleman was incredibly rude. I told him I did not understand the aggressive tone as it was incredibly uncalled for, and he asked me to leave. Once in the car we called to speak with the manager, Hailey. After being cut off many times, she too tried telling us that she was told we walked in very aggressively when in fact we walked in incredibly excited. She finally told us that weekends were for serious inquiries only and otherwise they tried to limit the amount that the dogs were out. We absolutely understand and respect that, but we were in fact very serious about the puppy and rather than being asked if we were serious or letting us know that they needed to provide us with some information first, we were just flat out told no. The manager was zero help and only seemed interested in arguing and trying to get off the phone so she could get home on time. Trust me, I get wanting to leave on time, but everyone could have left happy and on time had that gentleman not treated us the way he had. Another gentleman standing nearby even tried to speak up and let us know that we could actually purchase the dog if we wanted but the guy cut him off and told him he would handle it…probably not his brightest move. Terrible customer service and such a terrible end to the day. Don’t waste your time.

Sister got a puppy from this location and he died two weeks later. Turned out he had a heart and lung defect. She filed a claim and was told that a refund would not be issued and that she had to take STORE CREDIT. She was sold a SICK dog, why would she want another puppy when the first one clearly wasn’t vetted well enough to tell that he had congenital problems? He should have NEVER been sold. You guys sell puppies for insane amounts of money, especially if they’re sick and die! Ridiculous! And now you just want to pass another puppy along to her, and for what? So it can die too? You guys clearly aren’t making sure these puppies are ok!

They had a decent supply of things, but everything is too expensive, and the workers made jokes about special needs people to me and my girlfriend and it was very uncomfortable.

Me and my boyfriend bought a puppy from here, we live 3 hours away. The employee who works there named NICO who sold us the puppy told us to keep the warranty on the dog we would be able to transfer the vet closer to us, the vet they have the contract with is down the road from pet land. He was talking us up the whole time we were there being nice, talkative. Only to find out he lied straight to our faces when we called the place of warranty to transfer our vet. There is no way for a transfer. He told us people transfer all the time and that it wouldn’t be a problem. When i was signing the contract he was “summing” everything up rushing me to sign basically. So now we bought a $4,200 dog who’s warranty we won’t be able to keep because driving 3 hours every month to go to the vet is just not reasonable. Also when we called to get a quote on the puppy we wanted they said they couldn’t say a exact price over the phone but he was around $2,000 and once we got there the price doubled! Don’t waste your time or money here. They don’t care about being honest to customers. They will say anything to get a sale.

Yesterday we went to pet land for an appointment so that we could see a little dachshund. He was perfect! Not to mention the store looked spotless. They cleaned the room after we sat with the puppy, they were on top of cleaning after customers were coming in and out. Nico was very happy and helpful. We had to sit on the phone with our bank and he was very understanding. He gave us ALL the information on this pup and walked us through every step of the way making sure we knew and understood what was going on. We had the most wonderful experience getting our new puppy from the Carmel Petland.
