I have been to many vets that have not properly diagnosed my dog recently. I was referred to Dr. Carmichael by my friend Sue and am very pleased with his outstanding service. A very intelligent and caring doctor who spent so much time with me and showed genuine concern. I am so grateful for him and having gotten clarity with my dog's health issues. A true blessing and a very rare type of doctor. Just a good soul! Absolute best vet I have ever met and dealt with.

I have a cat who is at least 12 years old. I am sure he has an upper respirarory infection. He was wheezy yesterday. Today he is literally gasping after every bite of food. I rushed in to the phone, 4 p.m. to get him in to see a veterinarian. They close at 7 p.m. The receptionist very abrubtly told me that they had NOTHING until Monday. Really? No slots left open for emergencies, very sick animals? I should have known. When I moved here from California 3 years ago I had called them with some questions regarding my dog. Did he need Lyme Vaccine here? Were ticks an issue? A very bad experience. The receptionist asked if I was talking to her. No dummy. I am talking to the guy in the mirror. I only called them today because they are right up the street. Guess they are absolutely off my list.

All I wanted was to get a nail clip. When I made the appointment I let them know my dog couldn't be in the waiting area with other dogs. I was told to call when I got there. I did and was immediately put on hold. Waited for 5 minutes and hung up and called back again immediately put on hold. After 4 minutes someone came on but couldn't hear me, I was in the parking lot give me a break. Finally I was hung up on. I started leaving the parking lot and thought I'd try again but was going to be put on hold again. Get more help or a new office manager. I'm sure u have caller Id and to put the same person on hold 3 times is unacceptable. Plenty of vets in the area. What has happened to customer service?

I wouldn't take my little buddy anywhere else. They have been our family's vet for years and Dr Shimmel is very thorough and very kind. The staff has always been courteous and kind. I fully trust them and am grateful to have them as my vet.

I called and asked a simple question about my pet seeing when would be a good time to bring her in if she's throwing up at all. The woman working had answered in the most unrespectful way as if she didn't care about our concern. Not to mention, she she told us she had no idea what the problem was with the pet even after explaining, the point is, we called asking what are possible reasons our cat was puking and how many days of puking should we finally take her in to get checked for any seriousness. She responded with "I don't know, I can't tell you over the phone, you have to come in and pay for the appointment, thank you, bye." And hung up on us. Worst customer service ever.

The receptionists, vet techs,and vets are absolutely amazing. They're so kind to my cat and I and make us feel welcome, even pre-pandemic. They're an incredible clinic with honesty and pride in what they do. Highly recommend!

INJURED MY ANIMAL. My Chihuahua had an appointment for an ultrasound (no grooming). The ultrasound went well but long story short...during the procedure one of his claws was completely ripped off down to the pad. The staff did not tell me of the incident. They packed the injury with QuickStop and sent him home hoping I wouldn't notice. I called them right away once I noticed the bleeding (it soaked through the QuickStop). Their actions resulted in an emergency visit back to the vet, weeks of medication (for pain and infection), bandaging, and a dog cone. I told the clinic I would only pay 65% of the original bill and asked them to write off the rest for the pain and suffering they’d put me and my tiny dog through. Their response...turned me into collections for the remaining balance. Accidents happen. I wouldn't have written a poor review just for an accident...had they done the right thing. Will not be taking my animals to this clinic again.

Dr. Shimmel is a wonderful compassionate person, with both the pets as well as owners. Raph, the tech, was amazing with our cat. They treated our animals like their own.
