We are happy with Companion Animal Hospital of Skokie and our cat does very well with their staff. They usually do not sedate animals unless totally necessary. The Doctor is experienced and friendly like the rest of the staff. They enjoy animals and make the visit pleasant.

Dr. Lin and every single other staff member I’ve ever seen or spoken to at Companion is helpful, pleasant and personable. They’re considerate, sweet & kind w our animals and us! Our visits are quick & painless. You should let them take care of your pets too.

I had a great experience bringing my senior cat here as a new patient. The staff members were all friendly and explained each procedure well. I also appreciated that they talked through the diagnosis and treatment (kitty had an ear infection), and also provided cost estimates for the labwork and medicine up front. Looking forward to bringing my pet back for her next checkup!

I can’t speak highly enough of this place. I had to make an emergency appointment for a cat that was near death, and no other vet would see him. I knew Companion didn’t have room for me, but they understood he didn’t have time to wait. The situation didn’t turn out as I had hoped, and the cat had to be put down. Every single staff member from the employees that answered the phone, to the nurse that took my cat in, to the doctor that ended up seeing him was nothing short of professional and compassionate. This type of experience is always traumatic, but the staff at Companion did everything they could to make the transition as peaceful as possible and had they not taken him in, he would not have had those few moments of comfort. I don’t look forward to bringing my animals to the vet, but if I have to, I will bring them to Companion. Thank you again for all that you do for our fur babies!

I had a really bad experience with a vet where I, and my dog, were treated quite poorly. This vet, on the other hand, was nothing but amazing. All the staff are extremely courteous and professional and you can tell they care about the pets. Additionally, they had extremely good estimates on how long things would take and my dog didn't have to spend hours there because of poor time management skills. The vet herself, Dr. Stecher, had a really helpful demeanor and I could tell she cared for our pet. Ultimately I felt good about the course of action for my dog's injury and, though we ended up getting X-rays, I never felt pressured to do so. Ultimately the best thing I can say about this vet is that, though it's not the cheapest vet in the world, you don't get the sense that it's a money-making operation that puts business above the care of the animals that are taken here. It's hard to find a place to trust but I think I have found one here.

We were able to see Dr. Jennifer Stecher at this location which made me very happy. She had been our cat's vet at a previous location and I trust her immensely. My daughter's dog had been going through horrible skin problems and we weren't having much success with the other Vets we had gone to, not to mention just getting appointments for care was a chore. She is a Vet that really cares about your pet and makes time to accommodate you. It is so hard to find a good Vet these days, our dog is doing much better , he has a thyroid problem so still working on getting dosages right but he looks 100% better. So sending a shout out to Companion Animal Hospital for having Dr. Stecher available to our dog Louie. The staff that I have dealt with via the phone has also been very helpful and kind.

The staff at Companion are kind and caring. I feel like my pets are in good hands. They work hard to remain within my budget when ever possible. Every experience with them has been pleasant and I always leave feeling like I was given good advice. They show compassion to pets and their owners. I will be a long time client.

I brought my puppy here for digestive issues and Dr Lin took time to walk me through all our options and my puppy’s overall health!! It was so beneficial that he was so thorough and caring!

They were the only vet around that had time for my sick animal. They have been very responsive and never make me feel rushed. Thank you so much update: months later- I LOVE this place! It is the first time in forever that I have a had a medical team-human or critter- actually listen to me and take me seriously, and be respectful. So kind and friendly and willing to listen and support.

I love Companion. They have been wonderful with us and our two dogs. Dr. Lin is a kind, caring vet who is willing to discuss any issues and answer all questions. The techs and staff are kind and helpful to human and pets. They are an incredible vet practice.

Not sure why they want any feedback from me; but here you go. Rather disappointing. Charged nearly $600 for a 25 minute visit (from the parking lot) for an annual checkup for our 7 year old, standard poodle who, as the vet said, was in "Perfect Health". His examination fee was most reasonable and his conversation with us was great. However, the rest of the $500 of tests and vaccinations were never discussed with us other than the admitting assistant with a clip board running down a check list of "do you want ..." Yes/No menu. No explanation of why or how much each would cost or if any were elective. The Vet suggested we try a med to quiet our dog during fireworks/thunderstorms - he said try a sample and see how it goes. The office dispensed a full RX (30 pills) at the full price, only to respond to my inquiry about a sample and not the full script by telling me that due to the "Dispensing Fee" there was no difference. More surprises. And then the fine print said the expiration date was 7 months. When I asked to confirm this data I was told 'yes' and in response to "Can I use them after that date?" I was told to just toss them away. The office still does not allow non-employees in the building still, so all of our lovely visit was in the parking lot next to the construction debris container. Good thing the rains had let up. But for our affection for our 65 pound poodle, I would have reported them to the BBB. But since they asked me to respond to this Survey Request, I have relented to share our experiences. By the way, I believe this is a corporate shop now that took over for our long-time Vet with his own shingle. We wanted to give them a chance but after 18 months of 'new management' we will be looking for a new place. Sad, though, because the Vet who actually spoke with us was fantastic. CL

I brought my kitten here for an initial check up and could not have been more pleased with the experience! The entire staff was so kind and knowledgeable. They made sure I was fully informed and that my little kitty had everything he needed. I called 7 vets before I finally find him an appointment at CAH and I’m so glad this is where I ended up!

They're very concerned about our boy's wellbeing. He's very picky about which humans he likes and he likes all the humans here.

I love how compassionate Dr. Lin is. I trust him to always figure out what the problem is with my poodle and he always does. Then he figures out the right option of treatment for her. Thank you

My cat is not the nicest cat around people because she gets scared easily, so needless to say I was pretty nervous about bringing her to her first vet appointment (especially when I couldn't go inside with her). The ladies here were very helpful and made the process very smooth and easy. Even though they couldn't get through the entire appointment due to my cat starting to get very stressed out (not at all the vets fault) they were able to get her out of her carrier, get a shot, and back in her carrier. Amazing! They really know what they are doing here!

I feel being overcharged. My cat got an X-ray on his leg. They charged $240 for it. Later I did a Google search. Normally it’s around $75 to $150.

I wish I had found this place sooner because me and my husband have taken our cat to a couple places in the Chicago area but this place has been our (and our cat’s!) absolute favorite. They are honestly just so friendly and caring. Our cat just got his neutering done there and they gave a little certificate afterwards titled “for his bravery” along with personalized pamphlets with his name (and stickers) and even his meds had his name with our last name on it. It was so cuuute and so unexpected I just knew I had to write a review after this experience. Recommend 10/10 Definitely a place that seems to really care deeply for the animals under their care!

The vet assistant was so kind and gentle with my little man, Guapo! The doctor was caring and not just trying to have us pay thousands for test my dog did NOT NEED like some vets I know. If needed and hopefully we will not, but if we do, I will definetly take Guapo there.
