After years of having my dogs cared for in-home while I traveled, I started bringing my dogs to Ruffner's instead in 2020, and wish I had started with them years earlier! All of my dogs are rescues and spent some unhappy times in animal shelters, so I was worried about having my dogs stay in a kennel environment. I've found everyone at Ruffner's to be genuinely caring about each animal in their care, to be professional, and to be very knowledgeable about canine behaviors. My dogs have always come home happy after staying at Ruffner's, and I completely trust Ruffner's with their care. I knew for certain that I made a good choice with Ruffner's the second time I boarded my dogs there - when I dropped them off, my dog with the strongest separation anxiety immediately ran up to one of the Ruffner's team members and leaned into her - to me, you can't get a stronger endorsement than that. Obviously, she had been very kind to him and he remembered it! Ruffner's is the very best, and I'm grateful for how well they've always taken care of my dogs!

After moving, I was searching for a new doggie daycare for my pup. After a terrible experience at a different place, I found Ruffners. My dog takes time to warm up to new people and I could tell right away that all the girls at Ruffners really took their time and let my dog get comfortable with them on his own terms. After just a couple visits, Rizzo was pulling me towards the door to get inside! I love everything about this place and highly recommend them!

Our husky loves going to ruffners. If we're a bit slow getting out of the house in the morning he actually yells at us, lol. Wish they had cameras for the clients to see so I could see just how much fun he's having!

My two goldendoodles love playing at Ruffner's. All of the employees are super friendly and give you prompt service. Also, it always smells so clean and disinfected everytime I walk in.

We boarded our pup here years ago, but that's not why we visited recently. We adopted our current pup from Rover Rescue, and Ruffner's was the foster family. With masks, we were able to visit and play with our potential adoptee. Jen answered our multiple questions while we were visiting as well as answered several emails post adoption regarding training. Jen went above and beyond to help us feel comfortable with our decision, even after the adoption. Overall, a wonderful experience.

Have been taking our dog to Ruffners for day care and boarding since 2010. Excellent staff, who do a wonderful job caring for her. When we board her, I feel assured she is well taken care of, and I do not worry.

I would say our experience was less than optimal. Our dog stayed for 14 days. In that time: 1. He got a sun burn 2. He developed a sore spot on his head. We assume this is b/c he was outside so much that he never left the water due to over heating 3. He was over medicated 3 days (i know because i gave them 30 pills and got back 13... thus 3 pills too many used.) The staff was friendly, I do appreciate that. We probably wont go back.

Haven't had a single bad experience here. You can tell they're putting the effort in with their politeness and friendliness, and since my first visit I've never had a single worry about their quality. My dog, who usually hates being separated from me, now actively gets excited if she thinks she is going there.

I've edited my review since my first post as I noticed one of the reviews mentioned in my post was subsequently removed. That said, I have been taking my dog since he was 4 months old to Ruffner's for daycare and boarding. I love my furbabies and would never trust just anyone to care for them. My dog is now 4 1/2 and has been going weekly for daycare and a few times a year for boarding. He is always happy and I have no reservations leaving him. The suites are large, super clean and allow them to feel cozy with room to move around. The daycare is one of the best supervised that I have visited with trained and caring staff making sure each and every dog is getting the experience it deserves. The size is perfect for the staff to properly watch dogs play and within reach to intervene if necessary. The staff is always alert to changes in your dogs behavior and will let you know any concerns . They will do their best to meet your expectations and in our case often exceed them. I hardly ever write reviews but upon seeing a few that I felt truly unfair I wanted to add mine. In addition in reference to another posted review, I am the proud adopter of one of those 'Foster' puppies. These dogs were well vetted, stools tested, boosters given and neutered/spayed before ever being released to the new owners or in a group situation. I was told until a recheck vetting done that I was not able to bring him to daycare until a second vetting from my own vet was done after adoption. Fosters aren't the same as some 'stray' dog pulled off the street - these are dogs that have been properly vetted, cared for by a rescue and looking for place to call home. I am grateful for places like Ruffners and the caring vet's and rescues they work with to bring these guys a happily ever after. Just like anywhere else groups gather, be it people or animals, things can happen - despite all efforts to prevent it .. instantly grabbing a computer and writing a negative review does not always tell the whole story and I hope those looking for a great, clean , well run and honest facility take the time to visit here in their search for a place to provide love and care for your own furbaby.

We occasionally board our rabbit at Ruffner’s when we go out of town. Our experiences there have all been good. They keep our rabbit’s care and feeding information on file in the computer so it’s an easy drop off each time. There is a small room for “exotic animals” (rabbits, hamsters, amphibians, etc.) so that is where our rabbit stays.

We heard about Ruffners through some friends, so we were super excited about brining our 6 month old boxer for puppy daycare to give him a few hours to socialize and run off some energy. This was our first time dropping him off and I don't think we will EVER be returning. When we picked him up everything seemed fine, he looked happy and exhausted from running around for 4 hours, no initial complaints. The staff said he did an amazing job at socializing and had no problems at all. When he went to the bathroom it was super runny, we brushed it off thinking maybe he just got over treated. That night he would not eat and started acting not like himself. Again we just figured that he was exhausted and that his stomach was hurting. We got him pumpkin for his diarrhea. Saturday, he was still acting strange and did not eat till dinner time, and as soon as he ate he threw everything up. He then started throwing up every 30 minutes. We stayed up with him all night, and he would not stop throwing up and could not even keep water down. We ended up taking him to the emergency hospital early morning because he became so dehydrated, was shaking and poor little guy was still throwing up still. We dropped $500 at the vets on all of the medication they had to give him in order to just get him to stop throwing up. The vet said that he must have either interacted with some dog that was sick at the daycare, or something he was given there really inflamed his whole gastrointestinal system. Turns out that all the dogs share the same watering bowl (great way to transfer sicknesses) and our pup was allowed to play with puppies that they were fostering (so there is no telling how healthy or up to date on all of their shots these puppies were). We also found out that our friends who board their dog here, their dog also had the same exact symptoms and ended up in the hospital just a month ago.

What a great place! Had 2 other groomers cancel and Ruffners fit me into their schedule. We recently adopted a large stray border collie who had possibly never been brushed and had a dense double coat. I was concerned she would need to be shaved. The groomer here did a fantastic job! No shave required! The dense undercoat is gone, she feels like a Gund stuffed toy and not like a matted sheep! Will definitely come back. Staff was so very kind and helpful too!

Look no further! Ruffner's is the place to go if you are going out of town and cannot bring your furry friends with you. I have used this place multiple times now and the accommodations for my dogs was better than expected and they had a blast. The staff is experienced and friendly, and the place is well kept. Highly recommend.
