I really hope they turn out to be as good as they want you to believe they are. I called for a few days of boarding for my golden last week, after a reference from a friend and they wanted me to produce certificates from the previous place we boarded her. I said because we have been home since last year and half (Covid outbreak) I never needed to have her boarded and the last time was 2019. I was told it is to long ago and I have to have her boarded again and they will call the boarding place to ask about her behaviour. I offered to leave her for a day tomorrow but they did not agree and wanted me to board elsewhere where they can call for reference. This is a first I have come across this weird requirement, and when you screen the dogs likes they seem to do, it is discriminating behavior. This place comes with good reference and closer to home so will give it another shot, if my dog does not fail her seemingly stringent entrance test. Google would not let me post this review without ratings. Giving 1 star would have been harsh and therefore giving 3 stars for now (just because of good reference from my friend) and will update my rating later if I get to experience their service. For now, not a pleasant experience dealing with this place but will give them benefit of doubt.

Assessment was incredibly minor. No weekend hours. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Good, could have been better.

I highly recommend Pals for Pups. The staff are very professional and nice. The communication is great. Dropping off and picking up is very quick. My high energy dog is always exhausted after day care.

The training method they teach caused an injury to my dog's neck from the choke chain they require. They won't refund class fees due to injuries! It's all about the money and not about helping people!

Worst Place To Take Your Dog. I wanted to bring my dog in for boarding overnight. I hadn't brought her there for a long time. They told me since she wasnt coming regularly to them for daycare and I just wanted to board her "once in a blue moon" they wouldn't take her and I should take her somewhere where they only do boarding. I will never recommend this place to anyone EVER.

Note if you have an adult dog -- my dog is 45 pounds and I was told he was "too big" / "too old" and that he couldn't be accepted or even offered a temperament test because they can't mold his play from when he's a puppy. Weird policy (hello rescues/#adoptdontshop!), but you really should consider putting this very clearly on your website. I did not find this policy listed anywhere and it's definitely not on any of the main pages about Play Care. Disappointing, but will be looking for somewhere more inclusive in the area! If anyone has recommendations let me know :)

I’ve dropped off my puppy here twice and so far he loves it. He comes home exhausted after playing all day. Such a great service.

Management was extremely rude. Plain and simply my pup will not be returning.

+ Staff friendly and prices reasonable. Good hours and easy drop off/pick up. They temperament test all dogs and have a vet and groomer on premises. + and - They have stricter vaccine/health requirements than any other place I know. In addition to the standard rabies/distemper/parvo/bordatella, they require both a recent negative fecal and a negative giardia. Dogs must have all of these or no admittance. I guess the extra safety measures are good, but since it doesn’t appear anywhere else requires them, and other places are just as highly or higher rated, I wonder how necessary it really is. The extra fecal and giardia tests are extra trip to and costs at the vet. Typically only an annual fecal is needed. - inflexible. After a few weeks’ worth of visits, my large shepherd puppy (9months old) growled and then snapped at (but did not bite) at a staff member while being handled by his collar (handling to which he is not accustomed) and taken away from an activity he was enjoying toward somewhere he didn’t want to go. I understand staff safety is important and would never want to have someone injured by my dog. When I asked about corrections and whether he could return if I was able to address and remove that behavior or if there were any other options, I was told no. Because they had not had him as a puppy and because he wasn’t trained there, they offered no suggestions and the expulsion is permanent. That policy seems overly harsh to me for a one-time infraction by a puppy (granted, a big one). I don’t think I would ever recommend this place to anyone except maybe if they had a brand new young puppy. And that’s too bad because there are several other great things about this place. I also second the person who commented on the fact that the building is not wheelchair accessible, even though it’s a relatively new facility. I’m not in a wheelchair, but I do have a mobility disability and it’s hard to walk up the stairs. During covid, it’s not a problem because they are curbside service only. Overall a neutral 3.

Patty took the time to call me and discuss whether or not my dog could come in for an evaluation for daycare. Ultimately, my pup cannot because he has resource guarding issues. What a professional. She took 10 minutes of her time to discuss my dog's problem, how it can impact their life and why it may not be safe to have him around other dogs with toys. Much respect for upholding a standard based on your experience and expertise. Will look into training here.

When I called them this morning to let them know that there is a cat lying on the street that was just hit by a car literally next to their building and asked for help they told me with no emotions WE DO NOT TAKE CARE OF CATS, sorry and goodbye. They did not offer any help even thought they have a vet there. That’s how much they love animals! SO SAD!

My dog loves this place and I swear he gets excited when I say Pals for Pups. They take great care of my dog while they're just for a day or if I'm going away for a few nights.

Our Lab Lola loves coming to Pals for Pups! She is always super excited to go and exhausted when she gets home... Prices are about the same for the area, and the facilities are well cared for. The dogs gave plenty of room to run around inside and out. The staff members clearly love what they do, and there is even a vet on sight in case of emergencies. I couldn't imagine taking Lola anywhere else!

Great facility with personnel that really care about the dogs who are boarded there or attend the play care sessions. My two Labradors love going there and start getting excited as soon as they see the bag we use for bringing their food rations in. Two paws up!

Called to inquire about daycare / boarding . She declined to even set up an eval due to my dogs being TOO OLD sand TOO BIG and RESCUES !??? They are 5 yrs old and 65 lbs !!??? Seriously kind of ridiculous as I saw many pics of dogs my dogs sizes . Seems to me you should not have a daycare / boarding facility if you only want to take lap dogs !!!!! Awful that you wont even take the time to do an EVAL on a dog ?! Doesn’t seem very business savvy to me .

Our pup Hazel is always eager to go to daycare at Pals for Pups. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Haven't been impressed with the grooming services, to date, but do feel that our dog is safe and well cared for when she is there. Also love Yappy Hour (Saturday morning, owner supervised time at the facility for an hour and a half) Perfect way to exercise your dog during bad weather!
