Barb's Precious Rescue Palatine, Illinois

I adopted my cat Raj from them about 2 years ago now. I love him so much it's crazy. It's not that I would say this is a bad place or anything like that but my cat has FIV and I was made aware of that when we decided we wanted him, what wasn't told to us was that he had an ear infection and really REALLLY bad teeth, to the point that he would wince in pain when he ate wrong so we took him back in and had their on hand vet take a look at him she INSISTED it was a food allergy...she then gave us new food (which was years expired and he puked right after eating) we knew better so we asked Barb to get him to another doctor to take a look. He had missing teeth, half lose teeth, and really bad stomatitis. Turns out they had to take all his teeth out but 4....I'm not sure if Barb or others new the rough shape he was in but she was more than generous with paying for his whole surgery. I would rate barb and the rest of them 5/5 but the vet there.....3/5. But all in all Raj is happy and thriving now! Me and my husband as so happy to have found him ♡

got my kitten here process was short and easy, the cats inside are not kept in cages but very cute comfortable spaces. my kitten is clean and fully vaccinated that i love. she was cared for very well.❤️

No kill, cat shelter, where the fur babies roam free unless they are sick. Barb is wonderful she and the staff can help you find the right feline for your home. She will also have a small amount of dogs when construction is finished.

Clean and excellent service all clients seemed satisfied. Provides a much needed service to the community

I was feeding outside cat's in the winter time. Took one in. I'm assuming she was an inside cat at one time. Named her Mow Mow. She was pregnant which I new. She had 4 kitten's. 2 lived. Fatty, Scaredy Cat. Who I was living with is being evicted. I was waking up with panicking attacks every morning all day. Had to find a somewhere to place them. Called 15 place's, all said no room. Called Barb's precious rescue. By the way my name is Barb. Barb said bring them all in????. It was extremely hard. I'm a total animal lover. Got to Barb's precious rescue, I ????. But I new my babies were good hands. Thanks to Barb'us precious rescue. ????. I wake up every morning with no panic attacks. It wasn't about me living outside. It was I didn't want Mow Mow, Fatty, Scaredy Cat outside. Now their safe.

Very clean and great customer service

What an amazing place. We volunteer there and the new space is fantastic & clean (I know it's super clean b/c we run 2 three hour shifts with numerous volunteers to ensure cleanliness, checking the kitties, and feeding them. Staff is amazing too.

It's not open at the moment, but this is a very nice place. People were great. I donated some stuff there.

A great place if you are ready to adopt a beautiful cat that works with your personality and theirs works with your personality. Great volunteers, very helpful, they know the cats personalities to help you find just the right precious find! There fees are extremely reasonable for all they have done for these beautiful cats.

Wonderful rescue group. They truly are caring and loving taking care of all the cats brought in. Thank you so much for everything that you all do!!!

We found a kitten on our porch and Barbara's was the only place that would take it in. What a wonderful rescue organization!!

Wonderful rescue. Staff truely cares about the cats. They kindly took in our sick feral last year and tended to him and cared for him with so much compassion whilst keeping me abreast of his status. He passed away but I was comforted to know that he was much lived in those final days. I would urge anyone to visit Barb's and adopt a wonderful cat or donate food or money for the cause. I will forever be in their debt.

Compassion for cats is wonderful. Well staffed, quality accommodations, good diet, constant vet care.....great place for a BFF.

This a great place to adopt a cat and they are currently in the process of expanding the facility. Places like this provide a necessary service that saves the lives of displaced or homeless cats so they may find a new family. If you are looking for a cat look here first and if your just someone who wants to help support their efforts go to their website and give a couple bucks or volunteer your time.

My boyfriend Jacob and I came to visit by appointment to find a little kitty to add to our family. Even with the whole shelter in place they were so amazing with letting us see the cats and still keeping the 6 feet distance. My found 2 cats that we fell in love with and hope to adopt 1 or maybe both cats if they are bonded. So excited and happy we found this rescue.

Wonderful place and a big shout out to Yvonne! All the volunteers care about the cats and take great care of them. They are knowledgeable and kind!

My husband and I recently adopted a cat from Barb's. We were so impressed. Each time we visited, we were greeted by Barb and other lovely employees who were very professional and knowledgeable about the personality of each cat. We were welcomed back multiple times to visit our new cat before she was cleared by the vet to go home. It was really nice to be able to visit with cats in big rooms without kennels. Each adoptee is given six months of free vet care through the adoption center, which is great. I highly recommend Barb's!!

We brought an injured stray kitten in that we discovered under our neighbors' deck that was clearly in need of some help that we were unable to provide. Thanks to Barb's he made a full recovery and is now in a loving home with a friend! Our feel good story of the year!

Animals are well cared for. Clean environment. Very strong cat feces odor. Be prepared. Friendly staff and volunteers.

Everyone who works at Barbs is a volunteer and obviously loves animals! All of the cats that come here will always have or get a forever home.

Barb's rescue cat place is a wonderful, unique place! All of the cats are being offered great living conditions, roam free not locked in cages. Special award should go to all of volunteers there, : ) whom devote their time to make sure cats are fed, loved, place is cleaned; hard work with so many animals around every day!

Barb introduced me to the sweetest angel of a cat and i could not be happier! They take GREAT care of their cats and they truly care for their wellbeing. Highly recommended to anyone seeking a feline friend. :)

i love that the cats aren't in cages and are well taken care of! barb is super nice & so are the volunteers... i've had my cat for over a year now & barb has helped me with questions & everything throughout!! great place to get a great cat!❤ make sure to check hours bc they aren't open every day!!
