Old Stone Pet Lodge's negligence resulted in the death of my beloved cat Stubby. I have been so broken-hearted that I could not face writing this review earlier. It's so hard emotionally to write this epitaph for my precious angel. Although I had previously boarded my dogs at Old Stone, I could never bring any of my pets there again. Ron has destroyed my trust by providing substandard care for my cat, and afterward showing no sympathy or apology. I entrusted Stubby to what I thought was professional care while my family planned a 6-day trip to the UP. On day 4 of our trip, I received a call from one of the staff, not from Ron, saying that Stubby had torn the window screen in the cat room and escaped. Why would a professional cat boarding facility have an open window with merely a human-grade screen as the only barrier to the outside? Stubby was lost outside for 12 days. Ron never apologized for losing Stubby. Ron repeated on two different occasions that my cat tore a big hole in the screen, as if to blame Stubby for escaping. Any owner of a cat with claws knows that a cat can and will tear a typical residential screen. A professional facility should be able to safely house cats, even those with claws. Stubby had come to my door 4 years ago as a stray. He quickly became an affectionate loyal companion who slept with me every night. After his escape from Old Stone, over 11 days I searched for him, going door-to-door, dropping flyers in mailboxes, and posting signs along the roads around Old Stone. Friends put him on Facebook. Even though Ron put two live-traps outside the pet lodge, he never changed the food in the traps, so it got spoiled and disgusting. I read on the Internet how to find a lost cat. I prayed that Stubby would go to a neighbor's door or find his way home. On day 12, October 6, I received a call from a neighbor 1 mile from Old Stone; my beautiful Stubby had been killed by a car in front of her home. At least I was able to recover his body. Originally, when I checked Stubby in at Old Stone, Ron acted busy and preoccupied. He didn't listen well when I said this was the first time for Stubby to be boarded. If I would ever board a cat again, at another facility, I would ask more questions and would inspect the window and be sure that the cat room is cat-proof.

Wonderful day care for dogs and boarding. The splash pad outside is a big hit with our heeler and the nature walks are perfect for active dogs. Our dog is in good hands here.

Ron and his staff are awesome. We can't even say the name of this place at home, our dog gets too excited.

We thought we would give them a try on a recent vacation but when we picked our dogs up both had upper respiratory infections from being there. Never had this problem with the other kennels we used in the past. I would never take my dogs there ever again. Very dissatisfied

I’m getting a puppy, and I had called here to find out if they were doing sporting dog training. I was told that bc of the labor shortage caused by the pandemic, they aren’t offering any training services. I’d love to use them, bc they came highly recommended, but they don’t have the service I wanted. They were able to refer me somewhere else and they were very friendly and helpful.

I was very nervous to leave my 7 month old puppy for a 5 day vacation and was visibly upset when I had to leave him. The staff were super kind and contacted me the first two days of my vacation to let me know he was doing well and having fun. Pick up and drop off was incredibly easy and convenient. The value is the best in the area! Additionally, my flight was delayed more than 15 hours and I arrived back home a day later than I thought I would, and Ron replied ASAP on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend to let me know it was okay for Sully to stay another day. Excellent customer service! Will be back for our next trip. :)

Wonderful place for daycare and boarding!

Our four-legged family member is welcomed with open arms while she's there for doggie daycare. The owners and staff truly love what they do and it shows!

Ron and the rest of the staff are incredible. We’ve been using them for 13 years and we’ve never had a bad experience. Our dogs have always come home from doggy daycare exhausted and their kennel facilities are world class! Highly recommend!

The staff is friendly and my dog seems to love going there when we are on vacation. Plus they give your pet a bath if you have them stay at least 5 days at no extra coat.

You can totally trust the staff at Old Stone Pet Lodge and rest easy while working and/or traveling knowing your best friend(s) are well taken care of!! Takes great care of our dog, super friendly staff

My first visit was great, but when I picked up my cats in January, I was disappointed to see that my instructions weren't followed. If you have low maintenance pets, this place is great. But I will not risk my cats well being by bringing them back.

As always, Lucky loves her time at Old Stone Pet Lodge. And it certainly takes the stress out of my business trips, when I know she is so well taken care of while I am away. I had a last minute trip come up a little while ago, and had to take her to another kennel, because there were no openings at Old Stone. After we got home from the other kennel, she was frantic. Whining, panting slot, etc. She seemed to be stressed, and needed to go outside every 90 minutes. Whenever we come home from her stay at Old Stone, she is so relaxed and happy.

Lucky LOVES coming to Old Stone. I adopted her in March from a rescue organization, and was nervous about unexpectedly having to board her just 2 weeks after bringing her home. She absolutely loves coming to Old Stone! And I cannot say enough about how everyone there truly loves and cares for our fur-kids just as though they were their own.

Wouldn't trust my pooch anywhere else. Ron & crew are the best. Spacious individual runs. AstroTurf playground. Tons of security cameras to observe the fun.

My dog means the world to me and I'm very particular about who I would let watch him and I never have worry about him at Old Stone.

This truly is a kennel you can feel comfortable going away and knowing that your pets are well taken care of. We just returned from our longest vacation in years and I always worry that our dogs will be stressed out when we are away so long; however, picked them up from Old Stone yesterday and both are happy, healthy and seem like they actually enjoyed the vacation as well. Ron and the staff are just wonderful, we appreciate the great care they give our dogs and would recommend Old Stone to anyone. We also now take our young lab here for day care at least once a week and could not be happier. She loves going and we love that she comes home tired and happy.

The facility is nice, the employees are super friendly and helpful. Will certainly use this kennel again!

Can't say one bad thing about this place. The staff is helpful and awesome. Always a bunch of dogs here so your dog is gauranteed "friends" to play with!
