I have been going to Wheatland animal for approximately 3 years. I usually see Dr. Chris, but each doctor I have seen is compassionate, well qualified and gives excellent care. I recently lost my 17 year old Yorkie, Sebastian. The care and compassion I received during such a traumatic time was overwhelming. I just received a card from the university of Illinois college of veterinary medicine, notifying me that they received a donation from Wheatland in memory of my Sebastian. This touched my heart. If and when I get another pet, I will return to the doctors at Wheatland Animal Hospital. Thank you. Joyce

Dr. Faith and Dr. Dupuis are a class-act, have taken above and beyond pet care for over 20 years. There is a high level of trust, security, and capability within the team at Wheatland and we thank them for the many great years in the past and what will continue to be in the future - thank you!

We had awesome service from them Dr Jesse Hahne treated our dog Sylas with a blockage and was very professional and knowledgeable we asked for Sylas to be treated conservatively he agreed and was so good keeping us informed and always having Sylas best interest first. He called very morning to check up. We could not have had a better veterinarian. He is going to be a great Veterinarian with his compassion and knowledge. The rest of the staff was great and always treat us with lots of respect and care for our dog Sylas. Great practice all round.

My biggest regret is taking my dog to Wheatland Animal Hospital and I would never recommend them to anyone. Last October, I took my 2 year old dog in for a routine appointment. While she was in their possession (as it was covid and I was required to wait in the car), they neglected to secure her and she was able to escape and run away. No one came to get me and instead they chased her across route 59. I searched for over 8 hours (wheatland stopped after 1.5 hours), and eventually found her hit and killed by a car on 59. The whole situation was beyond devastating and left me heartbroken. I did sue them and Wheatland was found guilty of 2 counts of negligence. While I was offered a larger sum of money in exchange for signing a document that would not allow me to talk about what happened, I wanted them to be held accountable and be able to share my story so that this does not happen to anyone else.. What happened was so preventable… they chose to not use a slip lead, which is made to prevent a dog escaping, they could have picked her up as she was only 15 lbs, etc., but instead I’m left without my best friend and the thoughts of how terrified and alone she was as a result.

Do not recommend! A family member’s beloved dog, Miley, was hit by a car and killed on Route 59 while in this vet’s care. During a routine appointment, the miniature poodle (about 15 pounds), was not secured properly and chased across Route 59 by vet staff. My sister who was waiting in the car in the parking lot due to Covid precautions was not notified of what was going on until after the fact. After about 8 hours of searching with family and friends we finally found Miley’s body alongside Route 59 where she had been hit by a car. The vet spent about one hour helping us search. A court of law found this vet guilty of multiple counts of negligence. During the ordeal a larger sum of money was offered by the vet with the condition that we would not be able to talk about this incident . We declined so that we can share this story with others. The handling of the incident in the aftermath by the vet has made this experience all the more traumatic. Pets are family members and you need to be able trust those responsible with their care, unfortunately for us our worst nightmare came true with this vet.

We have been going to Wheatland Animal Hospital for 18+ years. Dr. Dupuis and his staff are amazing. They take time not only with your beloved pet, but with the owners. I can’t imagine using any other vet in the area. We have had 3 dogs and all of my dogs loved going to the vet. They are amazing from the puppy stage to your final goodbyes. I had to put two dogs down and the compassion they show at Wheatland has been amazing.

Our family has been taking our dog here for close to 10 years and with each visit we are greeted by a professional and caring team! We have had to go through multiple surgeries and procedures over the past few years and our experiences couldn’t have gone smoother or easier. We always know we are in the best of hands and would recommend them to all!

I have been VERY happy with bringing our dog here since we adopted her. And recently, the staff really helped me in a pinch and I’m very appreciative of the extra effort that was taken to help me get my dog her prescription. Prior to COVID (when I could be in the room) Dr Faith was always such a pleasure and so helpful and caring. All the techs have always been friendly and helpful as well. Just want to say thank you to all the staff, I would recommend if you’re looking for a vet in the area.

I've been to a variety of Vet hospitals and vets. Wheatland is head and shoulders above every other facility I've taken my pets. Chris is my vet and he is absolutely phenomenal!

I took my dog Jack here for a check-up and we received top tier care and service. Jack has some anxiety and the vets had such a way with him that he was totally calm the entire appointment.

I really really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately that was not the case. A couple weeks ago, Ruger develop a limp and needed a refill on his medication. Dr. Brandon called me from inside and basically said he didn’t find anything wrong with Ruger and just to have him rest. I received the refill on his hypothyroidism medications and on we went. About a week and a half goes by and no improvement with Ruger’s limp & I noticed his hypothyroidism symptoms becoming more prominent. I looked at the medication and they gave us .1mg and not 1mg. All this work we’ve done to help him lost weight, gone! What is .1mg is going to do for a 100lb German Shepherd? Called and Sue helped correct the issue. I was still rubbed the wrong way on how medication could be messed up like that so I sent an email about how I was upset about it and it didn’t sit the right way. I got a call a bit after from the office manager apologizing profusely but no explanation about what had happened. Fast forward to this past week, still no luck on improvement with his limp. I drove over an hour to a new vet for Ruger yesterday. Turned out he’s having pain in his spine and the new Dr said it should’ve been something easy to catch. On top of this, a fibroid on his hip area was missed. How? How was it missed if all you had to do was rub your hand over his hip/waist area and you could feel it? It’s not like he is a difficult dog to give an exam to which Dr. Brandon even said it himself and this is the type of this we train and practice for. I’m glad I was able to get into a place where they took my concerns seriously and didn’t dismiss me and my concerns. Which turned out to be true.

So we have had a couple issues with our dog over this past year. Because of covid our regular vet was not available. I was on the nextdoor app to get recommendations and wheatland animal clinic was recommended. They have been amazing. The staff and doctors have been so great. Our dog zeus loves them. He goes in smiling and comes out with an even bigger smile. They have helped us with allergies and now recently with double ear infections. This place is now our vet for life. They got him in same day all 3 times. They are amazing!
