Snowy Hollow Siberian Cats McHenry, Illinois

I am updating my review based off my full experience. when I bought my adult cat from snowy hollow, she was two years old when I got her. everything went fine, my cat had a great personality, we instantly bonded. She seemed healthy, but here I am a year and a half later updating this review because my cat just recently passed away due to complications caused by FIP at three and a half years old. The veterinarian that cared for my cat in her last days advised me to look elsewhere when I’m ready to get another cat. Based on mine and other recent reviews. I advise you to do your research and save yourself the heartache.

Anastasia is an amazing breeder with beautiful Siberian kittens. Niko is nothing short of beautiful, healthy, playful and very loving. We cannot imagine a life without him. Anastasia is always there to answer my questions.

Our darling Niko lights up our household! We adopted him from Snowy Hollow at age 4. He is healthy, sweet temperament and follows us all over the house. He loves being with people and has a beautiful coat, awesome eyes and a very healthy appetite. I have already recommended this cattery to several people who want a cat just like Niko.

I adopted Brandon from Anastasia in October 2020. I had been looking for a kitten for a while for my daughter and I. I simply Google searched and I found Snowy Hollow. I called and spoke to Anastasia and she asked questions and I got the contract and placed my deposit down. I was told I would be on the waiting list and would get a kitten by Christmas. My daughter and I were excited and to our surprise we got a call sooner and said that she had Brandon ready for us and that it was meant to be. The interactions with Anastasia have been wonderful and we keep in contact with her til this day. I love to send her pics of Brandon and how happy he makes us and how thankful I am that she provides such wonderful kittens to adopt. They are not only healthy and well cared for but absolutely beautiful. I consider Anastasia to be top notch breeder and I highly recommend adopting from her. I would do it all again but Brandon is king of the castle and isn't willing to share is space lol.

Please do not buy a kitten from Anastasia. I have never been treated with such contempt in regards to a pet. I asked her about the time on the waiting list and she lied to me, stating that by Christmas I should have a kitten. I told her I was fighting breast cancer and she still has been heartless, rude and unprofessional with me. It’s has been the weirdest interaction I have ever had with a business owner. So, I told her that I want to get my deposit back. She thens emails me a weird contract stating that I would not be able to share my story via any platform. It was her way of a non-disclosure agreement. She didn’t have an attorney read over it or make it official or anything. She emailed me and I sent it back, I scanned it, because at this point, I just wanted my money back. Then she said you have to print it out and mail, I feel she was purposely putting me through loops for the $200 deposit back. Then I said to myself, maybe she doesn’t have the money to send it back and my kind self said, Anastasia, just leave me on the waiting list, she then says no, you should get another breeder. I said ok. I have now found a wonderful breeder (I will share with any of you) and I told her since she didn’t want to do business with me for personal reason, I shouldn’t have to go through loops to get the $200 deposit back because she informed me that she didn’t want to do business with me and I was ok with that. I just want everyone to know what kind of a business this is.

We had our kitten last year from this location. The breeder was very nice and the process of adopting our kitten was fairly easy, and she answered all our questions and concerns. We are very happy with our lovely cat and would highly recommend this breeder to anyone who love Siberian cats.

Anastasia was going to sell me the sick cat, Yantar, for $800! After I read one of the comments here by Peadar Richards, I changed my mind. She had sold the cat for only $100 to Peadar because the cat was sick, and she wanted to sell me the same cat for $800! Totally unethical. Our Geno is perfect and beautiful! Working with Anastasia has been positive from the beginning. She is very helpful and answers any questions we have. We would highly recommend her sweet fur babies!

We adopted sweet GiGi about 7 months ago. Snowy hollow was fantastic! Great communication through out the whole process. Anastasia met us half way since we lived 3 hours away. GiGi is so wonderful she is very social with us and always in the middle of what ever is going on at home she is never hiding. Thanks again!

We got our little guy from Snowy Hollow Siberian Cats! He is very healthy and very sociable. Anastasia is great to work with and it is obvious she cares a lot about her kitties even after they’ve been adopted out she will contact you to make sure the kitties are doing great! We got our Gerdie last April from Anastasia. It was a wonderful experience for us. She answered our questions and gave us a lot of information. She is still available for questions and even loves to see pictures of our beautiful girl. Our cat never bothered my cat allergies and slowly but surely my daughter is becoming tolerant with her allergies. We would do it again! ???? So very thankful.

My deepest thanks to Anastasia! She was super diligent in making sure that everything about the matching and placement of our precious kitten was perfect. She takes wonderful care of her cats - all health screenings, instructions, and care was extremely thorough. She met me halfway and the true proof was in the pudding. Our little baby was so healthy and instantly at ease and comfortable with the transition! That’s saying a lot about her upbringing to that moment! This breeder is highly irresponsible, raising cats in a smoker environment, with free roaming males so litters aren't well tracked or planned, and treats her cattery like a business, not like a hobby or to better the breed. The cat I purchased was thought and diagnosed with the condition of kidney disease, after many vet visits, it was shown to obviously not be kidney disease, but I didn't have the will to fund extremely large vet bills for a cat that was supposed to be manageable, not to mention he was going insane, scratching my doors, walls, and floor rather than any scratching post, and yowling at all hours, and didn't want to give or receive any affection. He didn't react well to a full time working household but when brought to Anastasia's attention, she claimed that she knew it wouldn't work out if we worked full time yet we fully disclosed this information before the purchase of Yantar. These cats may be "well socialized", but they have insane issues outside of the environment they were socialized within. Her refusal of visiting a cat before purchase is a huge red flag that anyone should take into account and not ignore, these cats are not raised in a proper environment, although they aren't caged, this cattery is still more of a kitten mill in practice, since she apparently is for profit, based on other reviews I have seen. The cat I purchased and returned is pictured as well so that I hope she doesn't try to resell him without disclosing his issues, his name is Yantar, but I wouldn't be surprised if she changed it to sell him again.

I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience with Snowy Hollow Siberian Cats. My husband and I adopted a kitten, Leonidas (Leo), from Anastasia in mid-September and she was easy to contact and eager to answer any questions we had both before we took home our new baby, as well as after. We had initially intended to get kitten from a litter she was going to have available in early August, but due to circumstances changing with our move we asked if we would be able to transfer our reservation to the subsequent litter, that would be ready to go to their forever homes in mid-September. She was very flexible with this and made it easy for us to reserve the exact kitten we wanted once he became available. She provided us with her recommendations on good food, activities, veterinary care, grooming, etc. and made us feel that we were well prepared to welcome our new family member. We have another cat as well and she worked with us to answer our questions about integrating the two of them. We had our kitten shipped from her location in Illinois to Denver, CO, and the process went off seamlessly. Anastasia dedicated time to connecting with a pet companion who would be able to fly with our kitten (he was in a carrier and flew in the cabin with her) and deliver him at a time that fit our schedules. We were able to easily contact this woman before her flight departed, as well as once she landed, and found her in the airport with no difficulty! Leo had all his medical records and necessary documentation sent along with him, and he was (and is) in great health! Since then we have had our little man for slightly over two months and absolutely could not imagine our lives without him. He is the biggest love bug and lives to follow us (and his cat sister, Mila) all around the house. He is incredibly playful and constantly tries to jump onto any high surface that he can manage (considering he will grow considerably from this point, I’m sure eventually nothing in our house will be out of reach). Also, he is probably the most adorable cat I have ever laid eyes on (even though I may be a *tad* biased). If you are looking to buy a Siberian I highly recommend getting in touch with Anastasia, and I guarantee you will not be disappointed!
