The people at Mostly Cats honestly care about the animals they tend. They did a great job taking care of my cat when she had matted fur and again when she had a hurt paw. They patiently answered all my questions. They even gave me a follow up call a few days later to check on my cat's recovery. The only issue I had was with Google Maps' directions. The entrance to the parking lot is on Windsor and not Perryville.

No longer offers cat grooming, so I lowered my rating.

Acquired a 4 yr old rescue cat from Winnebago Animal Shelter. They provide a voucher to have the cat examined for free by any local vet. If the cat is found to have health issues they can be returned to the shelter. Mostly cats examined him and said he was in good shape. No issues to report. About 9 months later we notice his teeth look dirty so we make an appointment for a teeth cleaning and we drop him off. They phone to say he's ready for pickup and the bill is over $500.00 dollars. Without notifying us ahead of time they pulled 5 teeth. No phone call to inform us that he needed much more than a simple cleaning. Extremely dishonest and unacceptable. Rewind 9 months ago when he was brought in and Mostly Cats told us he was in good health with no red flags. Why were we not told then that his teeth were in bad shape? Are we to believe that his oral health went from just fine, to needing 5 teeth pulled in a matter of nine months?? Mostly Cats does not know how to conduct business and furthermore are negligent when it comes to customer service and knowledge.

Mostly cats is the only place I would consider taking my cat. They’ve earned 5 stars every time we have used their services. The vets and staff will treat your pet like it’s their own. The boarding is always superb.

We've been taking our fur babies to Mostly Cats for over 6 years now. They are absolutely amazing! Very professional and the clinic is always so clean and pleasant. We have a very temperamental cat and they always know exactly how to handle her. It puts me at ease having my cats in their care. You can tell they really love what they do!

MY DOG WOULD HAVE DIED had I not sought a second opinion!! The receptionist at Dogwood even knew from the symptoms I explained to her over the phone that time was of the essence and that something very serious was going on! We ended up at UW Madison needing emergency surgery for our one year old pup. Mostly Cats said it was just a parasite and kept taking our money to keep him hydrated and pump him with anti-nausea meds. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS TO MOSTLY CATS!! I immediately switched vets after his return home and would not recommend this vet to my worst enemy because we almost lost a perfectly healthy dog with gallstones who no longer has a gallbladder because this vet wouldn’t further investigate his ailment or have the respect to refer us elsewhere. So thankful for Dogwood and UW Madison for saving our dog’s life!!

I took my cat less than 2 months ago to them, they were nice enough to fit me in last minute but the vet misdiagnosed my cat with a cold and didnt do a full exam on him, he ended up having a few teeth infections that cause him to have respiratory problems. It lasted almost 2 months and didnt get better so we had to take him in for an emergency vet due to not eating and have them do an emergency surgery to remove a few teeth. This could have been prevented if the vet would have done a full check up as she charged me for it. This place also misdiagnosed our 6 year old family dog with cancer and told us to put her down when luckly we went for a second opinion and found out she had blasto and was treatable and lived another 4 years. BEWARE of this place as they seem to rush with the diagnosis of your animals. This place ended up costing us a lot of money.

Health/hygiene protocols strictly enforced but very competent professional empathetic wonderful staff. Absolutely zero complaints - we simply needed a second medical opinion about one of our cat's care but beyond this, we definitely recommend Mostly Cats. Safe. Clean. Empathetic. Professional. Affordable. Wonderful technicians & staff!

I take both of my boys here and they are so accommodating and caring. I'm glad I made the switch. My last vet was a no go after I found out they told my friend to put down her cat with FIV 7 years ago. After putting him on different meds he's still a happy little boy. I found it unforgivable. The fact that they are cat specialists is also a relief because cats are cats and it's nice to know they get it. One of mine tends to be very spicy if I'm not around, and they managed him quite well.

I wish I would have found Mostly Cats when I first moved here. I am very impressed and relieved to have found a vet that knows the Sphynx breed. They all do an excellent job!!

With covid I had to stay in my car but the Dr called me while she had my kitty and thoroughly explained her concerns. Very pleased with this clinic.

Even with the Covig...no come in...rules, they are fast, efficient, and very thoughtful when it comes to our pets (I have German Shepherd Dogs) even though the name says "cats" they do dogs also.

Do not take your pets to this clinic. I recently moved to the Rockford area and needed a vet for my cat. I purposely chose this clinic because I thought they would be good with my kitty who is afraid of the vet. First off, I sat in the empty waiting room for 30 minutes past my appointment time. I was irritated, but sometimes things happen behind the scenes that we aren't aware of, so I let it go. Once I got called into the exam room, I met the doctor who also happens to be the owner. I explained that my kitty gets scared and doesn't like to be examined, but I brought along a treat that distracts her, so they can examine her. The vet ignored me and reached into the carrier, without even talking to my pet, and grabbed her out. Kitty began to hiss and fight. I, again, stated that I have the treat to distract her. Again, I was ignored. The vet wrapped kitty up in a towel, further upsetting her and me. Again, I said, this doesn't have to go like this, let me give her the treat. The vet told me to stand back. I was extremely angry at this point. I picked up the carrier, set it on the exam table and said that this exam is over, give me my cat. AGAIN, I was ignored. She continued with the exam, while my cat is fighting and distressed. At this point, I begin to cry, I am so angry and frustrated. AGAIN, I was ignored. Once the exam was completed, the 'vet' prescribed some medication and told me to call her if it doesn't work. THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL I WILL EVER GO BACK TO THIS CLINIC. It is disappointing that a clinic that markets itself as specializing in cats, treated my kitty this way, not to mention the inexcusable treatment of me, that paying customer. I have never had an appointment like this. *** I had to give this place 1 star in order to post my review. They do not even deserve that. If negative 5 stars were a choice, that would be my rating***
